Just a quick tip for measuring for the bodysuit. Take a torso measurement. Start at the shoulder go down the body, then between your legs and up your back to the shoulder. Divide that measurement by two and you should have a pretty good idea how long your bodysuit should be. I sew a lot of rhythmic gymnastics suits and that is how you figure out the length of the body. Hope that was not too confusing!
Barbara, I overlock all the edges of each of my pocket pieces separately first, then overlock each of my side seams separately and then follow the usual method of attaching one right-sides-together to your front skirt piece, then the other pocket piece right-sides-together to you back skirts piece and then flap the pockets out and sew from waist all the way to hem going around the pocket bags as you go (it helps to mark your pivot points at the top and bottom of the pocket bags). That way everything is overlocked and you can sew all the seam in one go.
I love the extra information shared in this video - much better - thank you. If you are going to share the three different body types it is much better that you are now sharing the differences you had to make to the patterns. The outfits are all different - almost like a painting - everyone painting the same flower will have a different result - thank you
Love all of your makes ❤️ Also, it’s great how your name announcer/bubble things (can’t think what they’re called!) colour coordinate with your outfits! Really enjoying your videos 😊
It is always a good sign when you are already planning the next versions 😉 Love love love the ensembles. The bodysuit pattern seems to be the mother of all staples. Haven't seen any bad versions of the cullottes. Enjoy your weekend ladies. 🌸
Lovely! I always ave to lengthen everything... as I am 5’11” .... it would be great if you all shared your heights and variations for torso lengthen/shorten as well as inseam. The joy of sewing is we all can adapt these things for our own individual shapes. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Thank you so much for the amazing three versions and the body positive way you present them. I love the short version for winter with tights that I never thought of.
Keep sharing! I love seeing one pattern looking absolutely fabulous on your differently shaped but equally gorgeous bods. Can't wait to see what you three choose next.
I love your outfits! I'm a big fan of the faux turtleneck neckline on the Rowan but I like the backwards V-neck as well, a little bit of party at the back! Megan Nielsen has never been a pattern friend of mine because of her limited sizing, but I'm glad to know it grades well. I think I might check it out when she does extend the size range though. The Closet Case Nettie has a better size range currently, but I much prefer the Rowan necklines. I love the Winslow Culottes, I bought the pattern wanting a pair of culottes.... but haven't found a fabric that felt right. I love all your versions! I love your chatty vibe, I could listen to you girls talk about anything. Never worry a video is too long, I could watch you for hours. It's like chilling out with my favourite sewing friends. Even if you do happen to be in the UK, while I'm in Australia. Can't wait to see what you make next, these videos are super engaging.
I love your vlogs ladies! You all look great and there is loads of really interesting info about customising the patterns for different shapes and fabrics. Cant wait for the next one 😀
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos it's brilliant seeing patterns on different body shapes I've been looking at the culottes now I need the Rowan as well :D :D :D
Such fun to see your outfits. I have the Rowan bodysuit up next on my sewing table. Adding your Instagram channel to my phone now... Hugs from the other side of the world... (OREGON). I’ll be on your side of the planet in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait! (I’ll plan to be at Sew Over It on the 30th or 31st of October. Will you be there Lisa?)
Oh and is it the same instructions as the ones sewoverit has for their ultimate pajamas... they have a pocket tutorial add in and pattern piece ... sewoverit.co.uk/ultimate-pyjamas-pockets/. Is this the same as what you were describing?

Pattern Pals it’s not that easy to explain or show without having pictures or showing it probably:)
Could you take video of yourselves wearing the garments from further back? It is difficult to really see the full outfit when the camera is so close.
We'll try to add some more angles, thanks for your request :)
