    Me personally I love the look of a worn out (battle worn) gun. Your FN is the best looking gun you got on that table

    I feel like it’s getting ridiculous with how people are carrying rn. I see so many people trying to conceal full size or compact handguns and they print terribly . I don’t understand everyone’s desire to have 15 or more rounds on everything they carry.

    • @spnfirearms
      @spnfirearms  ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I agree. You are giving it away and defeating the purpose of carry!

      I dont understand it either. The majority of us will never even have to fire 1 round in a SD situation. Let alone 15-20 rounds. My EDC’s are all single stack, anywhere from 7-9 rounds. Ruger LC9s, Glock 43, XDS mod 2.

      It's the "in" thing because the FBI switched to it, and regardless of the evolution of 9mm, it is still not as effective as the bigger rounds. Just watch shooting body cam videos, sometimes 15 rounds of 9 mm makes them go sit down, whereas a .40 or .45 drops them with 2 or 3. I have studied a lot of the research and data, and talked to a lot of people who have been around shootings, and a lot of the data is misconstrued. Yes, 9 mm is better than it used to be, and it is fairly effective… But it takes more of it many times to get the job done. But people like that it's lighter and cheaper, and recoils less. Having said that, there is one thing that is correct, though… We are seeing a lot more multiple assailant attacks than we used to. I personally look at it this way - I'm ok with 6 rounds of .45, but I generally won't carry less than 10 rounds of 9mm if I can help it.

    • @BlueRidgeCritter
      @BlueRidgeCritter ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@dominickvelezjr9171 you have homeowners insurance in case of fire, right? But how many of us will have our homes burn down? You are right, most of us will never fire around in self-defense, and so carrying more doesn't make sense… bit that os only until the one time you need it. It's all about evaluating risk. Everybody should always make sure that their carry gun matches the situation that they might encounter realistically. Where I live, a pocket 380 will most likely deal with anything I would ever run into. But when I go into a city? I'm going to have more capacity and a more powerful cartridge.

    The 9mm I carried the most over the years was my CM9, followed closely by the lc9s. I’ve found my p365 to fit well, but 10+1 starts to get a bit heavy. I still pocket it occasionally, but not often anymore.

    Great review. Like my FN 503 too. Have an old Berretta Nano that's tops for smooth draw from pocket, great accuracy without any hiccups from 124 grain or above ( all the notorious fte/ ff issues were from 115 grain of which Berretta says not to use) and I also use a Springfield model 2 3.3 in 45 that works flawlessly that carries well in cargo pockets here in Florida.

    Switched from iwb to pocket carry for almost 2 years now, I agree it is the most comfortable way to carry. I pocket carry my LCP MAX with 12 round mag in Vedder pocket locker. Currently trying out the alien gear pocket holster for my shield 2.0, it would only fit in pant with bigger pocket but I would rather have shield on me if I ever have to defend myself. Thinking about getting the shield plus in 30 super carry, 30 rounds with the spare is hard to pass up.

    The Db9 is the only one in the list that actually is a pocket carry do to size and weight. Your missing the Kahr cm9/pm9 models. Slim,light weight, and dependable and now, a use one is affordable if bought from a private seller.
    If you go 380 acp then Kel-tec 3At, Beretta Pico and the old colt mustang double action model.
    Am, mentioned here also can shoot +p ammo and confirmed by the manufacturer.
    P.S.
    THERE is no Sami stats for a +p 380 acp but Buffalo bore does make a great HARDCAST round both standard PRESURE and +p if you live in a CONSTITUTIONAL state were you can hunt and fish while carrying conceal.

    I have a few of these guns and I dont see how any of these can be considered pocket carry. Something like an lcp pockets like a phone. All these 9mms to me are more for belt carry. I have a shield plus I probably carry the most and It just wouldnt work putting that in the pocket and going to the office or grocery store. A shield in the front pockets of levis or slacks just looks obvious. I'm not a lumberjack. Way too big but its totally comfortable and disappears under a t shirt in something like a tulster contour.

    I carry two guns. My main go to is the OG Smoth and Wesson shield without a safety. 9 rounds in the piece and a 10 round Extended mag as a back up. Been most reliable gun ever owned. Been carrying since 2012. Also I carry a Diamondback DB9 GEN 1 in the pocket or usually on the ankle. Been a pretty reliable gun to. No back up mag for it. Just 1 6 round. Great video bud. These guns make great pocket carry guns for summer and spring

    with .380 it's not as much the firearm as it is the round. Hollow points are not traveling fast enough to mushroom. Slugs do little damage. The best round for .380 seems to be the 'Fluid Displacement Monolithic Ammunition' or FDMA, a slug with a crucifix tip that creates a massive wound channel.

    Out dated??? Out dated my ass! LOL!! You've got a nice selection of single stack pistols...All of which will do the necessary social work that they were intended to do as long as you've got them loaded with good quality defense ammo. For pocket carry I've got an LCP-2 with an Alabama pocket holster, that combo works very well for me. I'm thinking that the DB9 will be my next firearm purchase. If it's a little too big for pocket carry, I know it will work well at 2 o'clock/4 o'clock. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience.

    It’s pointless to have a red dot while pock carrying. I like it better on my canik along with my o light

    Off subject but could you test some of your guns with a comment I made recently on your video (is Glock perfection real) by just slowly racking rounds out, thanks

      @@uglydogg4995 just thought it might have something to do with my failures to eject want to make sure my Glock 48 isn’t the only one that’s hard to slowly eject a round. All my other guns don’t behave this way. Might be the PSA magazines or it’s not broke in yet but I have over 300 rounds

    Not trying to be cynical, but you’re going to lose subs and not gain new subs when everything’s about pocket carry. Your potential as a channel is there, but several videos a week about the same old pocket carry gets old.
    I’m not trying to be a dick, it’s constructive criticism.
