In the small Oklahoma town I live in, at least 50% of the "popular" people in school succumbed to Meth addiction. Even some of the ones who would have been considered the perfect schoolmate.

Lord, the story about the man walking three hours to interview for a job - I know he left already, but doesn't the company have contact details? They could have called him and told him the good news to have created a role for him especially -- would have made a world of a difference.

A friend of mine got good grades and an outstanding emotional intellect. When he grew up he got nto an MLM, and then got crazy stupid with me because I wouldn't join. That was the end of our friendship.
I just realized I have a story of a teacher disappearing. My first period class junior year was world history. My history teacher was one of the most beloved history teachers in the school. I knew he was close to retirement, but he was very vague about when that would be. Then, one morning, our whole class was sitting outside the locked classroom. We waited around 20 minutes before the security guard noticed us, unlocked the door for us, and informed the office that our teacher hadn't shown up. Our assistant principal sat with the class for a few days until we got a substitute. But we all hated the substitute because he came across very stupid. Maybe he wasn't really, but that was our impression. Eventually we got a new substitute who seemed to know what he was doing a lot more than the first sub, but we were left wondering for months what really happened to our original history teacher. Even the office didn't seem to know for the first couple weeks. He had just disappeared. Eventually it came out that he had had a disagreement with administration and had walked out in protest. I know that he was financially penalized for it, but he felt it was worth it. I have no idea the actual issue he was protesting, but it was a very bizarre circumstance for us as a class to be in. I went on to fail the AP History test the following year. Many felt that he had been irreplaceable.
If you google my name (first, middle, last) article about dark web silkroad pops up, how it got taken down, who wsa involved. I can only imagine the few IT jobs I applied for they saw this and denied my application thinking its me.
I really like the little parts where you give your own opinion on the story and the person. It shows you're still human and not an AI voice :)

Story one made me unreasonably happy
The ‘Overheard’ one happened to me today. My mum didn’t hang up and I made questionable decision to eavesdrop. She was talking to her husband and it’s a conversation I can’t unhear
My mom ised to be friends with a lady that was a karen (and probably still is). She used to invite us out to eat with her, split the bill with us, as she should, of course, but instead of paying for her portion of the bill, she'd call for a manager and throw an absolute temper tantrum until they'd remove her food from the bill, so she would essentially pay for either her drinks, or for nothing, every time... I'm amazed that no restaurant ever blacklisted her for pulling the crap she used to pull.
We rarely speak to her now, so I don't know if she ever learned to be a better person... but I'd assume that she hasn't. She's also the kind who will go onto facebook just to start fights and seek attention

I had a teacher in 7th grade who left suddenly due to a panic attack. He had to leave in an ambulance. Don’t know what happened to him, but he was easily one of my favorite teachers

I also got one for my teacher mysteriously disappearing, we were towards the end of the year, just before Jr.High, and my fifth grade teacher, who was a lovely older woman, was collecting our end of the year tests from us, it was our state standards test, so they were pretty important. About a week goes by, no incidents, everything was normal, we were mostly celebrating the last half of the year by watching movies and whatnot to wind down from the stress of those tests, and the next week... Our teacher was just gone. Absolutely no word on what happened to her, why we needed a substitute for the rest of the year, which was about a month, or what was going on.
I actually met this teacher by chance about five years later, at a grocery store, and she told me exactly what happened to her. She said the principal of the school had been threatening to fire her if she didn't correct our tests to 100% to make the school look better, turns out it was a trap, he sent one of the older teachers, a crotchety woman that EVERYONE hated, to go around collecting tests from the teachers, and caught her editing our test scores... she got fired immediately. The principal suffered no consequences at all, the school board didn't believe her when she tried to tell them what happened. It was sad to, because she was an excellent teacher, everyone loved her, and she was one of the very few teachers in that school who actually cared about their students. My class, I should mention, were all severely undertaught, she spent so much time and effort tutoring us and helping us catch up with the rest of the classes in our grade... she didn't have to do that.
I fucking salute that teacher who speaks truth!

Why 2 grown adults would give/receive a handjob at a dining table during a wedding reception with children around because it’s not like children run all over the place at events to entertain themselves when the parents are drinking & hiding under tables/tablecloth’s is a real possibility. It only takes a child to run under the table to see what was going on to freak out, the parents of the child/children freak out someone is doing that in front of their child(ren), and the couple ends up catching sex crime charges against a minor of at least indecent exposure at the minimal that still requires registering on the offender list & will get them torn up in jail/prison. People need to use some common sense and if they’re unable to do that then they definitely shouldn’t be getting that inebriated out in public to mitigate chances of serious crimes or embarrassment. The least they could’ve done was go to a bathroom (that is lockable), a coat/broom closet, and/or a room or vehicle at the event where they can have some privacy.
I love the videos better if I dont have to look at your face. and keep your comments to minimal. Great Narrator though for sure.
Stop giving content warnings. If people can't deal with the real world, they should be encouraged to get the help they need instead of being pandered to.
