- This was one of the most eventful cruises I think I’ve ever been on! Welcome to my full experience of sailing 2 nights onboard MSC Virtuosa from Southampton U.K. to Belgium and back! I’d heard short MSC cruises can be very busy and loud with the party atmosphere in full swing and long lines so I’m finding out for myself what the reality is like! I’ll take you through the embarkation process, muster, all meals onboard (including speciality Mexican dining at Hola), facilities (rope course, pools, water park), some of the entertainment, all before the BIGGEST surprise of my life when I’m given the mother of all cabin upgrades on day 2. You’ll never believe what cabin I was moved to!! Let’s DO this!

We literally just got off MSC Virtuosa this morning after a 2 day 'booze cruise". Seeing your vlog in almost real-time shows how good you are Jamie, your review is spot on and we will re-book the same ship again for May next year. The only thing we would add is the wide mix of people, not many 18-30 type couples, lots of small friendship and family groups though across all ages, and it's very well suited to families with teenagers, so next time we are taking our two who will then be 11 & 13. Thank you for another great video, it's a shame we missed you by a few weeks. Kieran & Sam.

Loved this im doing my first MSC on a booze cruise weekend next year on virtuosa. Much like you I prefer to drink in a nice relaxed piano bar but i do love to watch people enjoying themselves partying. Im a very big kid a heart. I will be in that waterpark asap. I always say growing old is compulsory but growing up isnt 😁. Enjoy the holiday you are on this week. ❤️X

We loved Virtuosa last year on a 3 night booze cruise, which was our first cruise on her.
We're booked again on back to back short cruises in September for my wife's 40th and our 15yr wedding anniversary...YC for 3 nights then Bella Balcony for 4...I'm praying they just tell us we can stay in YC for the 2nd cruise 😂😃 If not we'll still have a great time 👏🏻

Jamie what a fabulous vlog once again! I ran to this upload as I'm due to go on her (this ship) next month for a 5 nighter to Amsterdam. This will be my 2nd cruise in total & 2nd cruise with MSC! This time I'm going with my bestie instead of my mum (I managed to persuade her by sending her videos of my last & first cruise & now shes coming with me!) This is her first cruise so I've sent her this video! All the info on Embarkation is great & will help her with what to expect. It will be super fun! I'm so excited & can't wait. She's gluten free though so I'm totally gonna feel bad eating all that pizza infront of her!

I’m going on this ship at the end of August on my own with 15 year old son. I’ve cruised loads but usually with lots of family members and never on MSC before. I’m hoping we will enjoy it.

Thankyou for your fab vlog Jamie. We got back today from a 2 day taster cruise to Cherbourg on MSC Virtuosa! Beautiful ship but sadly understaffed, long queues for everything and muster station chaos 😂🤦🏼♀️

Hola! is my go to embarkation meal on MSC ships- we will pay out of pocket for the all you can eat. It saves us the turkey fight at the buffet - really makes for a more relaxing experience.

At the beginning of your blog I was thinking "thank goodness I am not on that one. 6000+ not for me or queues etc. None of that with good old Fred. I am soooo confused why they upgraded you maybe because it’s for one night???? Ive been upgraded from inside cabin to balcony but NEVER YC and yes I am Diamond… with 7 ships under my belt!

We absolutely love the 4-5 night Yacht Club Booze Cruises from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas! Usually on MSC Seashore, haven’t cruised other ships in fleet.

Jamie, there’re so many ships and so little time for me and my choice of smaller ships are limited. But will keep my option open as a mini-cruiser, by researching lines I’ve never cruised as long as ex-UK, short and my same old choice of ports like Zeebrugge, regardless of sizes of ships. June

Oh and fun fact, the NCL Pearl that was leaving Southampton, I was on that! And yes, it was an absolutely scorching day and such a perfect sail away! You should try NCL.

So MSC isn't for me... but only because they have a poor reputation for catering for Coeliacs (would love to be contradicted though). It looked like there was a lot of fun to be had and that suite looked very much like my kinda place! Thanks for sharing :)

Well done Jamie your videos have helped us a lot. We went on cruise on virtuosa and good job my husband changed us to yacht club because the queues to board were horrendous, just millions of people. Lucky we went straight into yacht club lounge to a Buck’s Fizz ! The ship is amazing. But so very noisy and full of people. Nowhere to sit. Loads of wheelchairs pushchairs it was hell out of yacht club. No getting near pool and the was on a may Norway cruise. The market place buffet again 3 deep couldn’t even see what you were in queue for, and the noise. Even when you got your food it would be cold and finding a table was impossible! So many pushchairs a real hazard. Too many people for ship. Yacht club was a sanctuary, when you walked back through the doors ahhhh. I’m not a snob but check out the videos with people in not the ones where no one is around.

If you are diamond status and have priority boarding, how come you couldn’t board until 3pm?
Priority means using the priority line at time of boarding, not early boarding
Hi Jamie I was on a 11 night cruise in April my embarkation time was 1pm but we went earlier at 11am and ok yes we had all the queues etc and we’re on the ship by 11.30, May try going earlier as every filming you do, you go on at your allotted time. You’ve been on max virtuosa before you should know that this ship is full of queues for everything.
I used to go earlier but I was specially told by the ‘experts’ they’d clamped down on this. I also don’t think the ship is full of queues for everything - I showed multiple things I did where I didn’t have to wait in lines
Jamie my italian husband blames you for my iced coffee addiction 😀. Although we worked on cruise ships a long time ago I can’t get him on one now. He’s offered to pay for me and a friend to go on a Scandinavia cruise next year which I might take him up on. Can I ask when you book do you do it online or through a travel agent

Very fortunate
I got off Virtuosa only last month after a two week cruise, balcony cabin Fantastica grade (meaning free breakfast delivery). Like you I was looking forward to some good coffee to start the day, but unlike you I was delivered a large jug of hot water and a Nescafe sachet, the same as is already in the cabin with the kettle. Not happy, and subsequently left the coffee off my menu card, instead ordering hot milk and making myself a lovely latte (or two).

MSC Virtuosa - Never again! So much of this ship is set aside for Yacht Club that the rest of the ship is awful = No seats. Terrible bar service. Poor entertainment. Ship crammed full of passengers with no space to do anything! Never again!
