@@TasteTrekkerTales Thank you! Do they have complimentary ice cream near the pool deck? I haven't checked out any of your other videos yet, but will later today.
We had bad weather, so I didn't really look for ice cream. They had pizzas, hotdogs, burgers and fruit by the pool. I'm just editing the next vlog....it should be up in a few days 😁
@@TasteTrekkerTales Thank you. I've been on the Meraviglia and several other MSC ships. I think the Meraviglia is built similar to the Virtuosa. I had a terrible time on the Meraviglia. Mainly because of the passengers. They were mostly from NYC😁 It was packed. I'm going on the virtuosa for the ports. One is a 5 day cruise and the other is a 14 day cruise. So, I will ignore the crowds and focus on the ports.
We travelled at the worst time...a 2 day cruise, close to the bank holiday weekend in the school holidays. If the weather is pleasant, then the passengers will be spread out as the decks will be used. The next vlog will show that a bit more. I'm sure you'll have a great time....she is a beautiful ship
We really fancy trying MSC - we've seen so many mixed reviews but think it would be a great cruise. Wow 9.30am embarkation! 10.30 cocktails - lovely. There are some amazing facilities on that ship. Bowling and VR! Smart lifts are the way forward! Great menus and food looks good. Nah that's wine too expensive!! Great video guys 🍻
We were exactly the same. The embarkation was the best we've ever done. Muster was the worst (but it's 15 minutes out of your day, so it's not too bad). The lifts were brilliant for a big ship....and the facilities are fab! The second vlog shows the Sportplex more and also the White Party, which has a reputation but was a good night. The price you pay is often half that of other lines, but the experience is not half....hope I've explained that right haha. We enjoyed it....and would travel on MSC again. Thanks for your comment 😁
Hi been on Ambition from Liverpool in August beautiful food ,staff ,ship with my mum , sailed on Marella , PO, MSC , Cunard are my favourite on Queen Victoria in 3 weeks ❤
We did Fred Olsen Bolette from Liverpool...hubby loved the smaller ship, plus living in Manchester, Liverpool was brilliant. I think we may try Cunard early next year
Been on Virtuosa and several other MSC ships. Tip for the safety drill. Just wait for 15 minutes before going down and once down and scanned, walk around a bit or take a seat till all is over, and then simply take the elevator.
Prior to Covid every cruise we went on everyone went to muster at same time and had to take your life jacket. And that was with various cruise lines. Since Covid Virtuosa is only one where everyone still goes at same time. I guess if there was an emergency everyone would be heading to muster at same time
Good point. We've been on lots of cruise lines and never done it like that. We have been sent to a restaurant in the past and shown how to put a life jacket on etc. It just seemed unnecessary....but like I said, it only took 15 minutes. We really enjoyed it...for the price it was brilliant 👏
Yeah, I totally agree with that comment. We are going on Ambassador Ambience cruiseline in 3 weeks. She is completely different to Virtuosa....I'm so interested to see what we think. I do love a big ship like P&O Iona, Sky & Regal Princess, and Royal Caribbean....so am really looking forward to it
@@TasteTrekkerTales it’s really quite tricky to do a muster drill without crowds or stairs. Perhaps they would need to ask for assistance. You’re acting as if MSC have a choice in this - they’re following the law…
Check out my Fred Olsen embarkation vlog and watch how they do muster. All the other cruiselines do muster....as you say it's the law, but you do it any time before you set sail....you go to your lifeboat and get registered. MSC are the only cruiseline that does it this way! There is no need to do it as they do. I've been on FO, Royal Caribbean, Princess, P&O, Carnival...am going on Ambassador in 3 weeks. MSC need to learn from these lines
Thanks so much for this video. I’m only 52 but feel like an old fogey asking…is it easy to find quieter areas at night away from the music? I’m just not a party animal!! I’m going on my first ever cruise next May to Norway on the Virtuosa. Thank you 🙏
Hi Mark. Our cruise was known as the party cruise as it was only two days and BH weekend in August. I would think the Fjords would have a different demographic. The champagne bar and the robot bar were always quieter....even on our cruise. Your cruise will be amazing. Planning a Fjords cruise very soon too....it looks amazing. Welcome to the world of cruising....it's a very addictive form of holidaying 😁
@@TasteTrekkerTalesthanks for taking the time to reply. 17th May can’t come soon enough! I did sense that the demographic would be different.. the videos I’ve watched of Virtuosa seem to be Med/party cruises! I think it’s also not the school break when we go so should be slightly different again. I think I’ll be subscribing to your channel today as well. Thanks again
Thank you! It was on the 22nd August....Bank holiday weekend, slap bang in the middle of the school holidays. I think our cruise is as bad as it gets, and still we had a great time. The second video shows the Sportplex a bit more, the Mexican and the famous White Party. Go with an open mind, and I'm sure you'll really enjoy yourselves. (please subscribe....it really helps..thanks). Any more questions...just ask 😁
@hoodholmes Yes definitely...four nights outside of the school holidays should be quieter. The ship is so big, you can always find quieter bars etc. Honestly if you get the chance, the Carousel shows are brilliant. Really worth the money...and cheaper if you book before you are onboard. Have an amazing time 😁
@TasteTrekkerTales We booked both the shows, looks great 🙂. Why are on Royal Caribbean Spanish Flair trip next September. Really looking forward to that one.
Oh brilliant....I'm sure you'll love them! We are planning on doing Royal Caribbean next year. Maybe one out of Florida and one Southampton....we haven't decided yet haha. We've been on Anthem of the Seas (before we started vlogging) and she's now one of my favourites
The point of the safety drill is to ensure everyone can get where they need to be in the shortest time possible. It's supposed to replicate an emergency 🤦
It's to show you where to go in an emergency...i.e.your lifeboat...not replicate one. All the other cruiselines are way more efficient at organising this
@@TasteTrekkerTalesHave to disagree! The sign on the back of your cabin door shows you 'where' to go, it's to ensure **everyone** onboard can get there efficiently. If other cruiselines do it differently it may be convenient but it isn't efficient.
Let's agree to disagree 😁. RC, Fred Olsen, Princess, P&O to name a few lines we've been on recently, let you go to muster anytime after you've boarded...as long as you've done it before sailaway. Check out my FO vlog...you'll see how simple muster was on there. MSC are the only line that does it this way....it doesn't make sense at all. Everyone may not be in their cabins when an emergency happens....
We were on virtuosa sailing 24 August 2024 family of 8 with two small children Think you will find not everyone had muster at the same time we boarded at 11/30 and we could muster at any time up until 4pm so think the experience was different to ours Was this a short taster/ _booze cruise this might have been the difference We've done most of the major cruise lines and find msc different more European and child friendly than a lot of others
This has been our only experience on MSC...we couldn't believe the way muster was done on this cruise. You boarded the day we got off.....yours sounds more like the other cruise lines we've been on. Did you enjoy it? We wasn't sure we would like it as we didn't know it would be a 'booze cruise' but had a lovely time and you could find quiet areas if you wanted it
@@TasteTrekkerTales it was for my 60th birthday we had a great time lots of kids as school holidays but not a problem as we had young grand children with us .if we went as a couple probably outside of school holidays is best .The Norway cruise is fantastic and would recommend it especially the Flaam railway Avery busy ship but great fun for family's
Ooo good to know. We are definitely planning a Fjords trip next year. Not sure which cruise line yet. It depends if we take our grandson or ifl it's just me and Dave. Glad you all had a great time
My first experience being on a cruise and loved it❤....great video

I’d like to try MSC after that, thanks 👍 but I hope they change the muster safety check before I do, that looked so annoying.
We've no clue why they do it that way. They need to learn from other cruise lines. The ship is fab...there is something for everyone 😁
It takes literally 10 minutes and it’s done. It’s really not that big a deal.
@ChopsMcgee_ my parents would have really struggled with the crowds and stairs....it's a rubbish way to do muster
