Wiring looms are made by placing wires onto a peg board and then looming them up. I did mine ( not for an Exocet) by reversing the process. 2 off 8 x 4 ply on the wall, sticky pads and tie wraps to hold it all in place. Remove the looming material and follow each obsolete wire between plugs and remove it. Reloom it all up. Job done. Oh, were it that simple. Don’t cut the wires off at the plug, finish it 6” short and insulate it. That way it can go back in if needed. Keep all the wires you take out, at least until you finish the build. Replace any wires ( they can be removed from the plugs if you have the tool) that show signs of corrosion. Above all, keep records of what you did. Take your time and enjoy it by looking at the growing pile you’ve removed. It’s at this stage you’re glad you labeled everything. Panel wipe gets that muck of the wires.
Let this be a lesson to people. Video posted messing with wiring and removing "unnecessary" plugs.... and then never hear from him again. If you don't know what you are doing with wiring, leave it alone!
And the black which is always ground. Err, no. My current kit car is based on a Mercedes SL500. I think I may mentioned before, I grew up with the Lucas colour scheme. Merc in their infinite wisdom make black the power lines. Luckily I didn’t need to remove any wiring, just add a bit to get new bits to talk to the Merc canbus. That’s another story.
Glad your back! Couple of questions though, did you consider registering your car as a lotus 7 replica kiit car? And 2, could you make a stand alone engine harness and then just buy a universal 16 circuit harness for the car and eliminate that whole spaghetti mess?
Because it has the title/VIN as a Miata it is easier to just label it as a specially constructed car. Lotus 7 and PENNDOT would likely cause issues and get the car red flagged. As for the wiring harness I have no idea how to do the standalone engine harness and we could look at doing that if we build another one.
I would still love to but I have not had the time to build a suit due to not having the time. I would absolutely love to get back to doing it though. Some of my best memories are from suiting up for a show.
It was a great experience to do that, I know Zenkaicon just happened and I was bummed to not make it this year. I would like to build an Anthem Ranger Javelin armor but I don't know if I will have the time or know how to pull it off properly.

I wonder what ever happened to this Exocet. Maybe you're right and he messed up the wiring loom 🤔
Glad to see you are still alive
Loving the continued updates man!!
Thanks Alaric, I find that working on the channel is helping my sanity. I will upload another one soon.
Cool dude! Whatever makes you happy right? Excited to one day see a video driving on the roads!
