They typically use entrance/exit lanes which are basically a normal lane, just gotta get in and out before it comes to and end. But yea a wall is safer than a moving vehicle.
My '19 c43 cabin is very quiet. I definitely hear the pops and bangs but it's very muted sounding when you're inside. It's the perfect volume really. All you have to do to hear it even louder is crack the panorama. Suddenly it gets much louder.

If you go pedal to the metal then yes, you can lose control, but if you use only 40-60% of the throttle while changing lanes then everything should be fine
