Yep. Highland is upgrading the machine that makes the machine. Probably more casting and other improvements in efficiencies. First on the Model 3 and then use that to make the 25k compact.

One possibility on the exterior changes is that the way body panels come together and where panels meet in the front and rear may be changed to lower cost of body damage repairs in minor front/rear collisions.

Tesla has not given any other impression, other than 'Highland' is all about cost reduction.
Probably single underbody casting with structural battery pack.
Possibly electronic fly by wire steering and brakes.

I think that the changes might be subtle but hope to see improvements in quality. Hopefully Tesla can one-day engineer an assembly method to snap on moving parts 'Lego' like so that the dreaded panel gaps can shrink almost into obscurity.

"Ford will be profitable in 2025" have they adjusted for Tesla increasing production and lowering prices to increase their addressable market by 150% from current levels all while making larger profit due to volume and Energy Storage bussiness growth?

1913: Ford presents a brand new way of producing his cars. Faster and cheaper than all other companies. Model T pricecut from 800$ to 250$, in the new factory called: Project Highland. Dont expect Elons project Highland, to be a facelift of Model 3. Expect it to be a brand new platform 3, which is to be integrated in all factories in the coming months, designed to produce the new compact models, to half that price of model 3(platform2), but with same driving specs, and a demand exeeding all other models combined. Because in 2023, scale matters more than profit. So no low volumen niece project news from Tesla this year. Elon cite: The expected huge upscaling and the models produced on platform 3, will be mindblowing news and make a vast disruption, that the whole industry, havent experienced, since 1913.

Really didn’t know the Ford project was called Highland. Being a Scot I approve we love our highlands 👍😁 If Elon wants to Lone this newer version I’ll drive it round the North coast 500 through the highlands of Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 and give it back.
