-SOLVED- Quest Velomobile Wobbly Rear Wheel Problem

- I have had this wobbly rear wheel problem with my Quest velomobile for a long time. Now I'm going to solve it once and for all. I have a replacement rear swingarm and in this video I'm going to replace the old swingarm.

Thanks for the video's on your blog!
If, next time, you want to take the rear wheel, sprocket or axle out, turn the Quest over onto the other side.
That way you don't need to lift the rear and you can take the axel out upwards instead of downwards.
It might be a personal thing but I prefer it that way.

Hi Saukki,
I think you don't need to break the chain to change the swingarm. Just disconnect the derailleur from the swingarm and leave the chain threaded through the derailleur. You can also leave the gear cable attached to the derailleur, but you do have to cut any cable ties that tie the gear cable to the swingarm.
This is how I took out the aluminium swingarm of my Strada when I replaced the rear bearings.

I think the new swingarm will be stronger. They probably used more carbon fiber to make it and then they cut the useless part away to make it bit lighter.

Have you highlighted this issue for the manufacturer? Were you able to get a new one on warranty?
Yes, they are aware of this issue. My Quest was already outside of the warranty period, but they sold me new swingarm for special price. The new swingarm was slightly modified and reinforced around the axle. I guess that is standard on all new models.
