  • The Behringer Toro being controlled by CV and gate from a 960 sequential controller. Top row controls pitch and middle row is connected to filter cv in. Gates are from the external clock I use to clock the sequencer or from the Doepfer A-160 5 ratchet controller selected via a 962 sequential switch. It sounds good but there is no lfo for modulation, I guess when used at the low frequencies the original Taurus pedal was designed for the beat control would suffice. This is stupid fast for the Toro but it shines, best on big slow notes to make the room shake...

Always a treat once you get your sequencer going 👍😊

Very nice “Berlin School”. I haven’t tried that sort of sequencing yet with my Toro as I’ve been shifting my whole studio about.

I just need a bass machine that has a classic moog base. sounds like this is the ticket.

A simpler, more "limited" voice architecture perhaps. At the same time it sure seems like you cannot get a "bad" sound out of it. I would be interested to know the patching in addition to the 960 itself you are using for the ratchets.

I am extracting a 1/8 clock from midi clock using a Tubbutec uTune quantizer and microtonal multitool. This is the master clock which goes via a multiple to the 960 shift in, sig in 1 of a 962 sequential switch and to the clock in of the Doepfer A-160-5 ratchet controller Clock out from the A-160-5 goes to sig in 2 on the 962. A random CV from a Dark Time sequencer synced to midi controls the ratchets via the CV in on the A-160-5. Output of the 962 goes to the gate in of whatever I am using and button 1 is just straight clock and button 2 selects ratchets. Sometimes I have a double speed 1/16 clock on sig in 3.

Sounds like no matter the settings, it's always on a sweetspot.

yeah but what exactly does it do that any of my mono synths doesn't already do? seems to me to be a very redundant new piece of gear but i might be wrong of course

@@Confuzius I agree but there's something attractive about a straightforward, quickly dialed in synth which consistently produces "that" sound.

Definitely useful for a Bassist or Guitarist with midi pedals who needs big bass with minimal tweaks.

@@VykaarTones problem is to find midi pedals with a keyboard layout at a reasonable price.. I'll be receiving my Toro tomorrow and will hook it to a sequencer.

Could I control a Behringer Monopoly with this sequencer. Many thanks
