  • Learn a quick and easy way to make Polymer Clay Mini Mosaics. Join me in my studio as I collaborate with three other fantastic Colorado TH-cam artists. We found each other through the TH-cam Creative Arts Collaboration group and have met and enjoyed each other's company as we share our love of art and TH-cam. We're doing a collaboration where we each made a special, handmade item and a goodie bag of all kinds of materials for us to use in an upcoming project. This first video shows how each of made the handmade item. I hope you enjoy this collaboration. See the links below to Shemi Dixon, Ina Solsberry and Pam Tanino videos.

    Maria you are an angel, this technique is so much easier than stamping and cutting out the tiles individually and then baking them! This way they are so much more even, you are incredibly talented, thank you so much for sharing 🙏🌸

    That's really neat. I use picture frame glass like that to make little pictures with clay. I love having something that looks like a painting but has raised bits. :)

    Great project. I love the texture sheet that you used, the final one, who makes it please? I have never used pan pastels on polymer clay before.

      +CraftySamarita The Pan Pastels are wonderful on clay! The texture sheet (the black one) is a Squishers from Judikins. Here's an affiliate link for the sheet: amzn.to/20bMIxI

    How did they stick together you did not mention glue of any kind! Please advice!!

    • @SweetWillowDsgn
      @SweetWillowDsgn  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Marilyn, once you've made your mosaic pieces you do need to glue them. Depending on what you are going to glue them to, paper mache box or glass tile or wood frame, you need to use an appropriate glue. I generally use Weldbond, Sobo or Aleene's Tacky Glue. My projects are usually decorative and inside so if you want to use the piece outside you would look for a glue that would hold up in weather. Here's an article that The Blue Bottle Tree did on glues you may find interesting: thebluebottletree.com/best-glue-for-polymer-clay/

    Beautiful! Question - do you glue them to something? If so, what kind of glue?

    • @SweetWillowDsgn
      @SweetWillowDsgn  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rhonda, thanks for watching. Yes, these can be glued to a wood, glass, papier mache boxes or ceramic tile, really most anything with a flat surface. I use Weldbond glue. Here's an Amazon link - amzn.to/2bCmO3I. You can also get this glue at most hardware and big box craft stores. Glad you enjoyed.

    Your tiles are gorgeous and your choice of designs fantastic. However, I went to your blog to find what materials you used, but you didn't specify which embossing folders/Judikins squisher you very briefly flashed saying they were all texture plates.. The Joann link you posted for another commenter with the same question didn't work, so if they weren't familiar with embossing folders vs "texture plates" they'd be SOL. After over an hour of searching I think they are Darice HENNA E.F. in the 1st tile, Darice CIRCLE FLORAL EF in the 2nd and the " 1960s" Judikins Squisher in the 3rd. I can't find the wavy-looking Sizzix embossing folder you used in the 2nd tile. This is very frustrating.

    • @SweetWillowDsgn
      @SweetWillowDsgn  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AnnOna Moss Sorry you are frustrated. Finding and using a variety of textures is the point, not using the specific ones noted. Hope you find some textures you find appealing. Thanks for watching.
