Thank you so much! That's really encouraging to know it's a help. We are putting the finishing touches on the guide and plan to release it soon. We'll keep you posted here with a link to download it as soon as it's ready. What a wonderful way to spend your honeymoon! Do you guys have a spot or a region of the country picked out yet? Any big plans?
Just watched all you Costa Rica videos and love how you answer all my questions! Immediately subscribed. I’m planning my 2025 honeymoon here and am actually debating between the W and the Westin. I watched your 2 individual videos, but can you point me to the one video where you compare the two hotels? I couldn’t find a “W vs Westin” video on your playlist!
That's wonderful. First, congratulations on your engagement! You will not regret a honeymoon at Playa Conchal. Thanks for reaching out. We would love to help in any way we can. We plan out all our videos pretty far in advance to connect to one another (we're planning geeks), so sometimes a video will refer to one that will exist soon but hasn't been filmed, edited, and posted yet. That's the case with both the Westin video (which is being written now and will be filmed soon), and the video comparing the two (which is still a ways out). Sorry! But off the top of our head, I'd say here's great way to think about it: We would rather be at the W for a honeymoon than the Westin, but there are some qualifications. Here's how we'd think about it: the W is more luxurious, more quiet, less kids, better food, nicer suites, ocean views, etc. BUT, if you really want all-inclusive, it will cost extra at the W (but is included at the Westin). So if budget isn't a big deal or you can afford the extra charge to have all-inclusive at the W, do that. If you don't want to pay the extra $200/person/day for the all-inclusive at the W, but you need to have all inclusive, then do the Westin. It's still a wonderful place, just a different (family friendly + golf) vibe. We have seen plenty of couples at the Westin, and it's an amazing experience with a coffee shop on campus and everything. You won't be disappointed. Or, if you don't care about the all-inclusive package because you are hoping to bring groceries, eat at local restaurants, etc., then you can easily opt for the W. Either way, both places make for an amazing time away and will be perfect for your honeymoon. As a sidenote, a few weeks before you arrive, call the hotel front desk, chat for a minute with some random questions you invent about the property, and then tell them it's your honeymoon and ask if there is any way they can upgrade your suite if there is availability. They've been known to do this, as Marriott properties are amazing about stuff like this. They could easily say no, or maybe there's no availability, but it never hurts to ask. Let us know if you have any more questions too, we love to chat about this stuff. 🙂 Have a great trip!
Hi there! We're putting the finishing touches on the guide, plan to release soon, and will post a download link here for you as soon as it's available.
Great tips. Thank you!! We look forward to our family vacation there and this will for sure help. Where is that location in the video at 10:15? Is that a certain tour?
Thank you so much! I’m so glad the tips were helpful, and I’m sure you’re going to have an amazing family vacation in Costa Rica! 😊 The location at 10:15 is La Leona Waterfall. It’s such a hidden gem! You’ll need to take a guided tour to get there since the hike includes wading through rivers, climbing over rocks, and even walking through a narrow canyon-it’s a real adventure! The guides are great at making sure everyone is safe and can fully enjoy the experience. If your family is up for a little adventure, I highly recommend it! Let me know if you’d like more info or tips on planning for that trip. 😊
