I've been thinking about buying one because I have a ton of Alocs stuff, but I had a big problem with my latest one. It developed tiny vertical cracks around the bottom half, letting fuel leak out and almost burned my house down. And when I contacted their support, they gave me tons of runarounds, so I just gave up and threw it in a junk bin so I can try brazing the cracks sometime
My understanding is that those burners, especially the 'knock-offs' don't like to 'burn dry' .. exposes them to excessive heat. I have an original Trangia and have filled the Burn Chamber with Glass Wool, topped with a tight roll of Carbon Cloth. The risk of flaming fuel spillage in case of an inadvertent knockover is greatly reduced. The stove lights up quicker in cold weather (one does not have to wait for the 'bloom') and performance does not appear to be noticeably compromised. As for brazing the cracks .. I would cut my losses and get a Trangia.
👍👍👍 another Trangia knockoff, albeit a nice-looking one with the four Pot Supports. I like the idea of the Computer Fan Cooling Grate to accommodate smaller diameter pots. For my Trangia Mini, I made a little folding Tripod from a SS Bicycle Spoke, Aluminium Ferrules and Wire. Nests nicely in the Mini Set for storage, and works just fine. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..
If you lift the pot stand up, see the extra legs on the side of the alcohol burner? That part is designed for narrow pots. You put the pot stand on top of the burner. You can use the pot stand in a few ways. 1. You put the burner inside. 2. You put the pot stand on top of the burner for smaller pots. 3. You can even use the pot stand upside down. I hope this helps. :) Feel free to do another video of the part if shows of the narrow pots. :) When you drill a hole on the very bottom the shape as the head of the burner. This would also work for the other yellow pot stand.
Thanks, I tried putting the stand on the burner and it will work for the three point type, but not for the Alocs because it has a solid base, so its the fan cover for it.🙂 Turning the pot sand upside down won't really work since there is no way for the flame/heat to escape, although you could use tent stakes to provide a gap. I may do a video testing the different variations.
i had issues with 1 of those off brand alcohol stoves. since it isnt brass, it doesnt heat up fast enough or the same as a trangia. many more minutes. i think i had a redcamp. you'll need to deep notch those legs, with a file.

I also like the computer fan cover idea too. :)
I really like the mods and options you display.

This little Alocs stove works really well with the Trangia mini.

I would've liked to see the flame pattern

Good call, I will notch it.
