Joe Pratt you’re right on so many levels, but don’t forget the 1% who will put large deposits on this bird, like they did on their super and hyper-supercars even before those were proven and functional; Mr. Hill said as much! Still, what a beautiful bird, it got me hyperventilating 😎

Looks absolutely incredible, a true game changer. Can't wait to see one flying. As an engineer in the aerospace and automotive sectors for 30 + years, and a private helicopter pilot, I can appreciate the amazing work you have done on every level, well done to all the team. If that lottery win comes good, I'll be ordering one the very next day. Superb 👍
I’ll be surprised if this bird flys by 2027/8 with the home built engine shown. A clean sheet design of a gas turbine that is organically built is a unicorn. I’ve always thought it was a bad idea to not use a proven power plant built by a proven manufacturer whose life depends on making a good engine. I’d also concentrate on the folding green and forget the warm and fuzzy green until I got the ship airborne. The machine is already on a trajectory to be a million dollar helicopter by the time it becomes available. Doing a product launch with a no engine and non-flying prototype is a bit strange. This thing is beautiful but it’s got a long way to go. I’m not convinced that it won’t be the second or third owner that gets it across the finish line. Just my opinion based on investing in and working with many start-ups.
I agree about the engine. If performance targets do not depend on the new engine, there is no need to add risk and delay to the aircraft project for the engine; If performance targets do depend on the new engine, the project will fail, since the new engine is unlikely to meet targets (exceptionally unlikely in the case of an inexperienced manufacturer).
A proven turbine engine is key. As for the guy that talks about this being a million dollar helicopter.. ARE YOU INSANE?? Agusta helicopters are 10-13 million. Maybe 16 million now.
I would prefer that the next 27:56 stage presentation of the HX50 you leave Reuben and Micha in the audience until Jason is done with the presentation. Their constant enthusiastic interruptions took away from the presentation. I think after Jason is done by all means have them jump on the stage and add their 2 cents. MHO

Well now I know, after my initial scepticism about not using an engine off the shelf, all is revealed and may the power God's be with them! Crazy how a top line car is not much cheaper though!
Amazing. Specially the instrument panel. Even the most modern copters by Airbus and Bell have panels and flight decks that look like a cluttered mess (despite the screens). This is so minimalist and neat! Only NOW is GA catching up to luxury automobile interiors.
1:09:13 Hes right that in order to control costs you have to have complete vertical integration of the manufacturing process. A lot of aviation companies buy all of the components from different suppliers and then assemble them at their factory, but that means they have to pay whatever the suppliers prices are and each supplier is trying to make a profit. That profit from each part is additional pricing that has to be added in to the final msrp. The way theyre doing it theyre going to get all of the components at cost plus labor so its going to be a million times cheaper. Theyre going to be getting their engines at the price it costs to make them vs what a company charges for them. This is going to be huge as far as them keeping the final msrp as low as possible.

HI there.. Can I ask a dumb question.. Ive seen so many helicopters get into problems when the rear rotor fails.. Is there a reason you can direct the jet engine exhaust down the tail and using the exhaust as thrust to stop the helicopter going in circles ? Sorry, if its truly dumb.

Being someone who loves getting into the design of vehicles, I find this exciting. However I am concerned that they make a bit too much of the visual aspects. I agree that there would be a market for this type of private heli that feels refined, comfortable, luxurious etc. This might even be what causes lots of people to use flight for personal transport. But in my opinion one's primary focus should be more towards function including flight performance, fuel efficiency, safety and even convenience features inside the cockpit. These are the core things that truly determine how good a vehicle is. That being said, I do love the child-like enthusiasm that the guys show on stage. The HX50 is ambitious and has some serious potential!
What’s the width of the aircraft with blades folded? I.e. Is an oversize trailer permit required when towing the helo? After a PEL or just over road transport.
This is a stunning helicopter. I'll never be able to afford one but being around aircraft most of my life with my dad working for BAE when I was a kid I appreciate aircraft design. The Icon A5 moved forward plane design and this HX50 has deffinatly moved forward the designs for future helicopters, what a machine. Wonder If models will be available so I can dream of owning a real one lol.
Im just speechless. Ive been following hill helicopters for what seems forever ,and pilot yellow if i could afford flight school and make my dream come true, i would spend 7 figures on this platform without bating an eye just so i own one . This is just absolutely amazing 👏 . I was so happy when you brought the whole team on stage so they get some gratification for their awesome work, and engineering, and labor , and just all the paper work pushed to get this going . I could go on and on . Congrats to the whole TEAM !
By putting everything under fairings, you get everything out of the wind, but you remove it from pre-flight inspection as well. I wonder if that will come into play in future NTSB reports.

But my obsession with this journey will not waiver, and i will follow it right up to first flight and also the first delivery to Australia if and where the authorised dealer will be based as I personally want to see the wonderfull machine up close and personal. I'm not going to end with good luck because Hill Hellicopers have definitely got this, and shortly, they will be as recognised as a force to be reckoned with. Congratulations, and may the sales reach stratospheric heights. You all deserve the best success going forward.
With the *_HX50_* the *HILL gVTOL* is creating a veritable _revolution_ in the commercial helicopter industry!
Does it fly?
Holy crap, y'all are making your own bearings???? That's incredible!!! Could you please do a video on just that?
In a word, brilliant!
Awesome
Man these guys are truly inspiring. I work within the depots for the Air Force and could see great opportunities for Military civil fusion. We have such great capacity to help these startups scale their manufacturing without the massive infrastructure investments. This would give them time to scale while having access to a fully skilled workforce and manufacturing capability. Would love to explore partnerships
Many congratulations, a dream realised..
I'm an airplane pilot. Don't know much about helicopters, but this looks like the ultimate helicopter!
Congratulations 🎉
they should have gone with garmin G1000H avionics.
his is the coolest bird I've ever seen.
HI there.. Can I ask a dumb question.. Ive seen so many helicopters get into problems when the rear rotor fails.. Is there a reason you can direct the jet engine exhaust down the tail and using the exhaust as thrust to stop the helicopter going in circles ? Sorry, if its truly dumb.
I have to say at first I didn't believe you when you announced this all those years ago but I followed anyway. What you've done is incredible
First flight will be epic. Good luck guys
Not only a beautiful aircraft but the process being created to build it is awesome as well.
@@moosempw71 well you certainly stole the internet for dumbest thing said today. I only wish you had the decency to create your own post versus attaching to mine.
So Glad you followed through with this project. Well done!...BUT, A five year waiting list? A lot can happen in five years.
Wow amazing I will buy one soon!
For a GA ship…very impressive, it’s not going to be cheap. Looking forward to flight/performance phase…good job folks!
awesome. 5 people price one engine?
WOW! Amazing can not describe what I just watched! Game changing. Question?.........can this be done for gyrocopters w/ jump take off capabilities? i will likely own a Hill sooner than later, however my first rotor craft luv is gyro's.
Brilliant explanation o difference in stability between 2blade n 3blade design.
Bravo...amazing looking forward to see first flight of your helicopter
I love his thoughts of bringing genral aviation up to automotive standards. GA has been stuck in the 1960s for the most part. There are a few aircraft companies that bring great innovation but unfortunately not many. What I want to know is how much??? They were saying the people that were going to be flying the helicopters are the same people who drive Supercars? Great, looks like I'm shit out of luck. Take care. Hawk out!!
How long do we have to wait to see the test flights? Great stuff guys!!
First they need to build a helicopter. What they have now is a mock-up.
Absolutely luv this aircraft!!! 💯
I think I literally just seen three of these hovering, flashing lights, and making circles in the air right now. Its a helicopter Ive never seen before, so I came to youtube and here I am. 😮
Fantastic presentation! I really enjoyed the breakaways and explanations. The design and machining are beautiful. Well done.
"A proper helicopter" then proceeds saying "automative" for the next hour and a half.
These two pilots he has with him on stage need to be quiet and stop seeming to be negative and stop interrupting this brilliant man's dream that btw seems to be a world changing development, so I'm super glad for him and his dream, im sure this will all be reality very soon, people like him is what's needed in this world for many, many reasons especially for the private industry. Tootles....
Is there a test facility available for full size test flights?
Wow wow wow..I’ve been following the progress of the built and seeing it fully standing there with so much elegant and beauty..really it’s a class built modern helicopter..the design is outstanding..Congratulation HH..❤👏🏻🇳🇴
Has this beauty flown yet?
What a gorgeous machine. Please get in touch if you guys would like to bring this beast to MSFS 2024 as there are thousands of simmers who'd love to fly this bird and might someday become owners ;)
So cool! Been following them for awhile now. It’s so cool to see someone bring this aircraft at the price that many can afford! Not me!!!!!!!!
But some lucky people will enjoy! Aircraft cost millions!!!
And 3/4 million is a steal.
Parabéns a todos , estou louco para receber os meus HX 50 e o HC50 pena q é em 2025
Looks a Great Aircraft ,What I would like to have seen this helicopter perform The HC50, a fully certified sibling of the HX50 , to get a idea of its fuel burn, & how far it could travel on full Tank of Jet A , that's the only thing we didn't get to see , I hope we can see this test in the next video, I think its a beautiful Aircraft, its a credit to Mr Hill & His Team, Bravo well done, Regards & Best Wishes To All the Hill Team, Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year 2024, Trevor.W.Bacelli. Anyone tracking the word count by Jason ... how many time he said "essentially" ??
What a great interior design 👍🏼
The co hosts think its about him, so annoying!
Kindly tell me what is the seating capacity of this helicopter?
Dreams do come true with commitment and persistence. Fantastic to watch your dream become a reality.
What’s the width of the aircraft with blades folded? I.e. Is an oversize trailer permit required when towing the helo? After a PEL or just over road transport.
The Hill website has those dimensions.
