Frank Milne is one of my favorite arrangers! Loved his 88n
    QRS rolls - '40s & '50s before I ever heard of reproducing
    piano's!

One of the best Duo-Art pianos I've heard. Excellent expression and tone. My husband and I hope to get our 1924 Weber Duo-Art sounding as good as your piano. We're having a pro work on our piano..he's rebuilding the player pneumatics. Your piano is the later Duo-Art set up with more of the controls in the spool box. Great roll....great music.

There were one or two tunes in this selection that I knew but did not know the titles.
Thankyou, a very nice sounding piano.

Make the YT player full screen and set at 1080 HD and pause at beginning. All titles are on the label.

Such a pleasure listening to the correct tempo such as # 2 "If I Had You" rather than like other player piano poster that play the rolls like the music is off to the horseraces! Thanks again for your very enjoyable posts.

I like to slow the medleys down, Better to sing to and more melodic.

Milne did go to QRS in 1941 when Ampico closed it's door's.
I have many of his '40s rolls. And if you slow them down and
add expression, they sound like his '30s Amp. & DA
arrangements. I even have a couple stamped with Cook's
name that sound like Milne. Erlebach made several late Imperial and QRS '40s & '50s rolls that I have and no mistake of the
    style and sound.

@kirksjunque On all 3 of my pianos, I installed a spring loaded brake
with an arm that rides behind the roll as it plays. As the roll gets smaller
the brake drag gets less. An even pull from end to end. No slip, no skip.

Yet another lovely medley roll, and I have to confess I'm not familiar with some of the tunes in the latter half. Wonderful stuff there. On a friend's piano, especially with lengthy program rolls of this type, the music would stop for a few seconds as the great bulk of paper tightens on the take-up spool. You don't seem to have this trouble, how did you get around that, or did you (skillfully!) edit them out?

I use a pair of Nady battery powered MONO mikes, one on each
end of the piano to make good sterio. Wired thru a Radio Shack
head phone volumn adjuster, and pluged into a Cannon HG 10
vid cam with 1080 HD. My problem is the cheapo tripod that binds
    making the vids shakey!

I am just wonder if any or all of those arrangements were his. More than likely Cook with Milne's name.

You have stopped me working today as I've spent too much time looking at your videos!!!
Can you please tell me what equipment you have used to record the video and audio for these postings? I have a Duo Art and have it working well and would like to record it for some critique.

    Who issued this medley roll?

    • @pianmn199

These are Powell recuts from the 70's & 80's. I combined all I could to make Long playing DA's by filling up the spools. All are Tempo checked first to find which ones to go where. This one is made up of # 73348 & # 74786. I make my own leaders & box labels.
