It's amazing how these guys make such precise and shots at their game. Always amazes me when the camera zooms out and you see how far the shot really was. Hats off to you fellows from South Africa!
It should always be the way youre doing it. Hunters should always do their best to show their quarry the respect it deserves by taking it all back, not just a trophy and a couple of back straps. Much respect to you, Anton and the others for such great shooting, and sharing a fantastic philosophy when it comes to the hunt.

Love this. Difference between hunting in NZ is you don't have help to take more meat and you're also carrying a 20kg+meat pack out of the mountains. Great content Matt!
Hello sir I want to say congratulations on the great hunt but I wanted to correct you on one thing that you said about in the United States about just taking the backstraps and the trophy and leaving the rest. In the united states we are required to take every edible other than organs out if you leave the meat it is called want and waste and you can loose you hunting license for many years. Most states have a program that if you only want the trophy you are able to donate the meat to homeless shelters. Sorry to rant but I didn't want people to think wrongly of hunters in the United States.

Congrats on the new rifle. It made quick work of that hog. Its odd to see Matt Dubber without a beautiful GRS laminate stock. Its really cool to see you include Anton in your footage. Next generation being taught by the best! Thanks for another outstanding video Matt. We live in the golden age of entertainment when we can sit back with no bugs, sun, dirt, or waiting around, on a hunt in South Africa. -Watching Zebra and warthogs nonetheless! Looking forward to your next Dassie and monkey vid (one of my favorite things on youtube).
Thank you Matt, as usual you have delivered a beautifully shot video in an incredible location while managing to add interesting and informative commentary with pin point accurate projectile placement resulting in some very tasty looking dinner, you are a very fortunate man and i absoulty love your work.
Matt, I have to chuckle a bit over your dove hunting. Back in the day, like the late 70's, we used to field about 30-40 hunters during dove season here in Arizona, and (the statute of limitations is run out) we'd take a limit of mourning and white wing in the morning, come home, clean 'em, take a nap, then go out in the afternoon and take another limit. Limits back then were 10 mourning and 10 white wing, so a =lot= of birds. My neighbor, who hosted the hunt, would put on a big feed the last night (3 days, sometimes 4) that the "crew" was in town, and we'd grill up 300-400 dove and chow down. Guys would still go home with 100-200 birds in their coolers. Cool thing was, we'd only have to drive 3-4 miles out of town to shoot like this. Now, it's about a 40 mile drive... :-(
Most Hunting companies in NZ,take everything,on camera they take the head and horns, but the whole body is recovered by helicopter or 4WD later on,nothing is wasted.
Just a heads up....North America all game meat must come out before trophy, this includes Elk, Moose, Deer and any other game. I've packed Dall Sheep over 30 miles on my back. Congrat's to your son, one hell of a shot.
First off I love your vids! And I love the American flag hat! But not everyone in America is just a trophy hunter. I’m in Colorado and have tracked back and forth mile after mile to get a whole elk out of the woods. I only leave skin bones and innards behind.
Even "trophy hunters" mostly eat their kills or donate the meat. Don't know where people are getting the idea that isn't the case, or that there are all that many trophy hunters either. Most hunters I have ever met, and that is a LOT, are mostly out to fill their freezers with better meat than you can find in a grocery store.
This is getting stupid. It's a felony to take only head and backstrap on any game animal in the US. I'm getting tired of waiting for Matt to make a retraction here....
@@wnchstrman Eh, as an avid hunter you'd be surprised how much it happens. It's all over TH-cam and on Lone Star Law. Matt is right as I have seen what they leave behind. Especially bears and ELK.

There is a “field dressing” technique for those birds that only takes a second and then you can send them in to the kitchen somewhat clean for further process while you continue to hunt. Pull the breast out, cut the wings off, skin and feathers, and drop in the water.
Ethical hunting done right! The use of meat from those animals is a far better than just shoot-drop-leave (although in pest control programs that is what is needed sometimes due to the remoteness, or prey type) but this is what hunting should be about, ethical shots, respect for what the animal can provide and providing a service to the land holder - PERFECT
