I have the gen 3 on my jeep and love it. I went for the synthetic line model. Way lighter and easier to pull out in free-spool mode. As for the other things you don't like, i.e the light on the controller, extra wire for the light on the front motor brace and that the controller plugs in on the passenger side, these can all be overlooked when you compare its price to other brands. This winch (the synthetic one, anyway,) is the best value on the market. Keep it! It looks great on your jeep!
The control box can be mounted off to the side. It comes with brackets for doing so. I had my mounted off to the side for a couple days but hated the asymmetry of it so I moved to the center. photos.app.goo.gl/Q41KFiZhV6YwwLK97
I freespooled steel cable out of xrc gen3 9500 hand over hand with winch on the ground and foot against it. I'm 48 lbs lighter than you. No problems here.
@@MrTurbo64 I finally fixed that problem! I tore it apart removed all the gummy black Chinese grease out of it and replaced it with # 1 Grease and now it works fine!
Been searching on youtube for everyone that posted vids on this winch. i own the winch but have not installed the blue an white led wires since I don't know what would be safe to wire them to. I want the lights to turn on when the vehicle is running only. No one has posted about them, everyone skips those wires.
I connected sb logo blue wire to passenger side fender drl. I put an inline fuse on it and connected to the white with brown stripe wire on 21 jlur. Check for proper power wire on your model.

Welcome to my world! My XRC 9500 Has Nefer free spooled without feet against the winch while pulling cable! And i weigh 245 lbs!
