I'm American, that exchange was somewhat lost on me, can u or someone please explain it? I'm guessing it was just about the accents, but I don't hear any difference between their two "hello"s, which is what's confusing me
+vv183 The first 2 times, she says "hello" in her real, upper-class Southern accent.
The third time, she switches to her GOT Northern accent, and says it more like "Hullerr", at which point the interviewer is satisfied, and accepts her greeting.
I don't know agree with him saying Ygrette sounds North-Western though, and that Rose must watch a lot of 'Coronation Street' (a soap opera filmed in Manchester).
She sounds more Yorkshire than Lancashire to me, kinda Barnsley area mixed with the Beverley/Hull area accent.
She is from Scotland not Lancashire or Yorkshire

Rose Leslie is such a mind-fuck. Has an incredible Northern accent in the show, was born in Scottish to a noble family but speaks in a posh Southern accent…what the hell. Love her.

The Church of Melisandre just makes you burn people alive every week and do a bunch of very stupid, regretable things. Maybe she'll finally get a clue and resurrect Jon Snow, so he can learn her new mojo and resurrect Ygritte. Oh, wait. Jon cremated Ygritte, didn't he? Damn. Nevermind. :(

This interview is five years old but anything Ygritte or Rose Leslie does pops up on my YT choices. Her character was a favorite of mine in GOT.
Five years ago our son, living in LA, announced that he was flying home and bringing along the love of his life that he had just met a short while earlier by using a dating app. She was an Australian woman that had just arrived in Hollywood. We met her and she was unlike anyone I had ever met before...and I was stunned by her demeanor and presence. I impulsively exclaimed "I can't believe how wholesome you are!" to my future daughter-in-law. How's that for baffling and inappropriate exclamations.
My daughter-in-law is a good looking woman who was brought up well. Went to boarding school, trained as an actor in drama school and Leslie reminds me a lot of her. She's well spoken, smart and her demeanor is wholesome.
NOW in another YT interview, Leslie described herself as "wholesome" and I gestured at my computer screen: "There. I am not the only one who recognizes the concept of Wholesomeness in young properly brought up, well travelled women of a certain age". It is an upper crust British paradigm I think. If there is enough money in the family to afford the training, these young women are encouraged to be classy and proper...yet they are also smart, savvy with a sense of place or propriety. Their full range of appropriate and engaging expressions are compelling. It is a treat to have one in the family and to have all these clips of "ygritte" and Rose.
