Yes. The magnets are threaded in to the slider, so you can adjust them for fine tuning, and also for getting bigger slide bends. The magnets on this harp are set for semitone bends, but they can be set for full-tune bends if you prefer. BP

Yes, the PowerBender allows ALL 10 blow reeds to be altered by the TurboSlide (instead of just the lower 6 in Richter tuning). You get more for your money! :-)

BTW people: I'm NOT a Suzuki player exclusively. This video was made when I worked for Suzuki 2006-13. I had to justify talking about a different brand harp in this case to avoid annoying the company bosses - hence the caveats in the preamble. Since 2013 I've happily returned to being a free spirit, and play harps by a range of manufacturers including Hohner, Seydel, Easttop, Kongsheng - and Suzuki. Brendan

Amazing. This seems like the ultimate solution. How would this all work with Richter tuning - would it still get the full chromatic scale? Also do you find yourself using this setup today - or is something like the lucky 13 more practical?

No, it doesn't work for Richter tuning in the top octave. It's not an either/or choice with PowerBender: the Tuboslide simply adds even more to the good stuff PowerBender offers.

The bends are different. The SlipSlider gives you new interactive-reed blow and draw bends, which are the same easily controllable bends as the eight standard ones on a Richter harp. They sound through two reeds of opposite breath working together, and the bending pitch is determined by the note of the lower-pitched reed in each hole. They work on any harp, regardless of reed material. The Turboslide requires steel reeds because it creates new blow bends via magnetism. They are single-reed bends, and their pitch is determined by the proximity of the magnet. They can't be controlled through the embouchure, but are initiated via a push button. I prefer the SlipSlider type of bends. But... Here's the good news: you can have both! If desired you could fit a SlipSlider 1847 with a Turboslide to get more bending options... Two ways to get the new blow bends, and extra draw bend possibilities too. Has that confused you even more?
