    I own both. Like both. Have twice as many Tecovas but thats because they have more choices. Cueros fit my feet really well. Ive got a pair of Austins and two pair of Cavaliers. I love all three.

    I polish my boots once a month to once every 2 months and I wear them almost every day and I had some really bad gashes in them and the polish covered it right up, so if you have some bad gashes and want your boots to last really long I'd recommend polishing them every one to two months.

    Just because something is made in the same factory as another doesn’t mean they are necessarily the same. The workers get patterns and work orders. One brand may require a stitch with a tensile strength of 30 pounds while the other only requires 20 pounds. One may require a leather thickness of 20 mils while the other wants 15 mil thick leather. So they aren’t always the same.

    I have both too and I noticed that the Cuervo instep is looser despite being a narrower boot. I bugged Cuervo pretty bad exchanging the boots multiple times thinking I had just got a lemon but all 3 pairs had a loose instep and my foot just didn’t “pop” into the boot. Anyone else find that to be the case?

      My foot doesn't pop into Lucchese even tho the size is correct. It's annoying because they actually fit.... It's just bizarre that my foot will slip in as easily as putting on a pair of crocs! Lol. But because I don't get that pop that I love to hear and feel... I haven't bought a 2nd pair of lucchese yet and idk if I ever will. I just can't get used to the lack of foot pop when I put them on. I have the navy ostrich Elgin boot by Lucchese. Beautiful boot.

    @Smackdadious I totally agree with two of your points. (1) I love a taller heel. (2) If a boot doesn't fit, it is just the worst feeling in the world. You will not be comfortable at all. Digging those Noconas btw.

    I tried to buy a pair of Cuero’s yesterday. Very Sus. My order wouldn’t go through, so I tried calling during business hours and can’t get ahold of them. No business voicemail either. I tried emailing too but it bounced back. I can’t imagine what it would be like if you need an exchange or a return.

    everybody's feet are different but for me i prefer cuero eastwoods over tecovas cartwrights. cartwright has a slightly taller shaft that's hard to get into and a slightly taller heel and it's not nearly as soft or supple in fact i think the cartwrights are stiff amd very uncomfortable personally now a tecovas earl is soft and comfy but i hate my cartwrights. i owm 3 pairs of cuero eastwoods easier to get into softer leather much more comfy!!! if you're into the look of cowboy boots but can only fit a roper cuero would fit better for anyone like that. anyhow i prefer cuero my tecovas are stiff and uncomfortable as hell sadly. i may try rujo or chisos one day.

    • @cainechancey30
      @cainechancey30 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      also loved that the hard leather insole was thicker and cushiony on cuero. I'd say cuero is better for people with bigfer legs cause they're easier to get on than tecovas due to the shorter shaft its maybe a half inch shorter at most but really makes a difference and while i prefer the look of a taller heel i must say a shorter heel like on cuero is slightly comfier. i own tecovas ariats and cueros and so far cuero is comfiest and best fit in my opinion but i do love all my ariats especially my 2 inch heeled ariat sedona western r toes. rujo supposedly fits a lot like tecovas they say chisos is doing pretty well currently but outa my price range

    One thing I'm seeing right off the bat with Cuervo is their boots are even cheaper than Tecovas and have far more color options but the leather diversity seems to be sacrificed.

      For sure, I would get Nocona before Cuero any day of the week. If not for price than fit, the B width fits me way better. Tecovas is a good walking boot, it will last a long while at that.

    Get new boots ? Put a dry pair of socks on your feet put said boots on feet . Fill your bath tube will warm water . I like setting on the edge of tube . Place your boots in the tube . Set on tube until you feel your feet getting wet . Get out and dry off water from boot . The fun part , take off walk . Wear 8-10 hours . Boot care . Clean boot , I’m not going down this rabbit hole . Clean with what you fill safe with . Wax the threads really good . Put on a book conditioner, really good . The next time you wear thing put on a true cowboy boot sock . It really does matter for your feet . Never put baby powder inside your boot . It’s really hard on the leather on the inside . It’s too good at what it’s made for it pulls all the moisture out of the leather. Again wax your strings !

      Smackdadious that was a nerd trick And I know my size . I’ve had some of my boots 25 plus years and had them torn down and rebuilt . One pair elephant . You can walk in mud and cow shit all day in them . Hose them off and do it again . I’ve pored concrete slabs in them . Just washed them off. I do clean them really good and condition them at least once a month .

    • @JohnnyBarger-sb3yh
      @JohnnyBarger-sb3yh 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will say this . If it a boot you wear just to keep from going barefoot why spend a fortune. Always buy as much boot as you can afford . A real good pair of boots will outlast a cheap pair 10-1

  • @sthornton78
    @sthornton78 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Both of these boots are hot garbage boots. There isn’t a working cowboy in Texas who would wear these. Rios of Mercedes, Fenogilo, or Becks are boots you should be looking at. Boots aren’t cheap, a good boot will run $300 to $1k. Fenogilo makes a good stock boot, that is made like the old style in Nocona boots.

    • @Redtailfauck
      @Redtailfauck 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lmao. If you spend $1000 on a pair that’s not bespoke made by a cobbler that knows your foot size and shape, you’re a dumbass. These are both fine budget options. Becks are overpriced for what they are. I would say Fenogilo’s leather quality is on par with Tecovas. So if you want to pay more for a similar boot, have at it. The thing with “real” cowboys, is most of them don’t make enough money to afford good boots in 2024. Your $1000 boot option is for pretty boys who think they’re cowboys.
