- How to Fix Sound Card Error Code 10 or Code 39 on Device Manager.
If you encounter the Windows Error “Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).” with your sound (audio) card, then your sound card device driver is probably incorrect, missing or corrupted. When error “Code 39” happens, then your sound card is not working and the sound card controller appears with an exclamation point in Device Manager.

It worked for me! The only key i could delete was UpperFilters. After that i uninstalled all the sound devices, then reboot and all back to normal. Thanks!

I deleted the Upper Filter since it was the only one that appeared in the folder and once I restarted my laptop, my keyboard does not work anymore. Even a USB-connected keyboard does not input at all. How do I fix this since my laptop has a password and all?
I think what u did wrong is u deleted the upper filters for keyboards.The one thats just above sounds(the 4d36e thing) is for keyboards,so i think u deleted that accidentally.

Does this work for windows 7?Btw i went and searched in the registry and found that at the 4d thingy there is only upper filters.If someone can answer me if it will fix my sound problem that would be good because litteraly my sound hasn't been working for months.The high definition audio controller can't start cause of Code 10.Someone help?
Every time it re installs my high definition audio controller and i restart my pc it just comes back with a warning symbol over it as if its broken and it just dosent work

I noticed that I was missing the installer 32, mmci.dll,MediaClassInstaller file. Is there anything that could be related to the problem if this file isnt existing in the {4d36e96-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002b310318} file? It would be really helpful if somebody knows an answer to this

Why should any of us have to be doing all this to fix a problem that should be fixed with the system updates. Are these companies just sitting with a thumb up their asses that we have to go digging deep into a registry because the people that are supposed to take care of this are not earning their salaries ?? This shit is so fucking annoying and unnecessary. This is 2020 and we still have machines that are less dependable than previous versions. When I had XP and Vista, I never had a problem !!

This solution works for Safe Mode enable .. my problem still not working sound .. my System is IMac 🖥 2011 running. Windows 10. When I install Windows 7 Sound is working .. maybe I will install Win 7 then upgrade to 10 .. thank you 🙏🏼

@@IaPermisul i just find out, but Bluetooth audio is working in windows 10 on the imac 2011. I get sound with Bluetooth headphones. So Bluetooth is a sound card concept . 🤔. Interesting stuff

Thanks @MDTechVideos, your hack worked for me. I had dropped my laptop and had got code 10 error. I had tried a lot of other hacks and none of them worked. I thought I had to take it to the hardware shop, but thankfully your video helped.
PS: you can include the captions in the video itself as I had to use the youtube captions and they were shit.

When I went to uninstall the audio device title was not there. Only the high definition audio controller, but that device could not start. Should I uninstall that?

@@bakedzeati11 I will tell you how I fixed mine. I ran all the recommended fixes and rebooted my computer. I then plugged in my headphones having given up on fixing the problem. 10 minutes later I looked down at the volume button and the red circle was gone. Unplugged the headphones and the sound was fixed. I donno why but it worked after I had uninstalled the driver's and plugged in the headphones. Give it a try. Good luck.
