Yep, and it does it very well.

Good video. Was interesting to see how it would perform. Just watched your overview video on this.

Thank you, it did well. Felt really nice mostly.

Thanks, you saved me some money. I really dont think it they should've sold that knife with the off-center blade and damaged nut. I'd also assumed Tod actually made them, which is apparently not the case.

No problem. When I looked into it I found that India was where most people said the knives were made, but who knows for sure.

you got it 'sharp' from them? or did you sharpen it?
I got my 'sharp' from them - which they clearly state the end user will probably want to get it to their own sharpness level - also my sheath does not have the brass chape on the end - which is historically accurate

Yeah I chose sharp when I bought it. When I got the knife the edge was pretty good. I went over it with my stones just to get it sharper. The knife is so thick behind the edge if I tried to cut paper, it would still do a poor job of it even though it was relatively sharp after I was done with it. This isn’t bad for a thrusting weapon so I’m planning on keeping the edge the same.
That’s a shame, the brass chape actually looks pretty nice.

steel is EN45, and I think Tod trys for 55-58 rc (maybe, I could just be thinking wrong about it)

Seems like you got a real dud, mine was used extensively to turn dead trees into kindling and held up fine, nor did it have any fit and finish issues that weren't shortcomings of the design itself (that brass on the bottom is a hand shredder when you've been chopping long enough). It's not on that they shipped out one in the state of yours, let alone to America where shipping means it's not as easy to just get in touch with Tod and send it over to him in the post.
You keep saying this is point focused but mine chops as well as my kukri, if not better. I think the fact your blade is slanted probably changed what it does in the hand.

It could be I got an outlier. I emailed them with a description of the problems my dirk had and I never got a response. It could be that the canted blade affected my dirk’s ability to chop.
This dirk does have a long blade but I still find that yours being able to out chop your kukri surprising. Thank you for adding your positive experience with this dirk. I’ve always found it helpful to get information from several people before making a purchase and I hope my video, along with the comments, helps someone.

Keep in mind that Todd doesn't make the Cutler line himself they're made in India Todd's handmade blades are probably much better than this but they cost thousands of dollars.
