Fantastic footage Marc, throughly enjoyed it, especially the section parallel to the old Nottingham Rd between the Cemetery and the Cricket Ground which is where I was born and grew up. Used to play around the disused canal when I was very young, good to see there are advanced plans to re-open it although looking at your footage there would have to be some major re-routes around current buildings. Thanks for creating and uploading it, much appreciated.
Spent a lot of my childhood along the "cut" from Boulton Lane to Swakestone lock also from Boulton lane into town on the cycle path, Ironic I now own a narrow boat and would love to cruise along the Derby canal
I really enjoyed the video. I once caught a stickleback with a fishing net when I was 7/8 years old by dipping a net into the lock at the end of the Derwent bridge near the old Derby bus station. I am researching the Cloud Trail which follows a section of the Derby Canal and have put some of my work onto www.melbournederbyshire.co.uk
I would like to see a film done of the ashover light railway route as I used to live at Stretton and walk to clay cross on the old track bed .Me myself I
Thanks for doing this Mark. I've been desperate to understand the route of the canal through central Derby. This makes it abundantly clear.
MARC sorry!
