- Watch one of the greatest quicks of all time - the late great West Indian Malcolm Marshall - claim a hatful of wickets with 10 in the third Test against Australia at the Adelaide Oval in December 1984
Rip Malcolm what a bowler!!!
How unfortunate for his passing
Amazing bowler
Malcolm Marshall, Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram, Sir Richard Hadlee, Curtly Ambrose & Dale Steyn they are undoubtedly in a different league of their own. They redefine the status greatness.
You missed a few. Add Dennis Lillee next to Marshall's name, as well as Holding, Roberts & Garner.
Most discipline bowlers having swing acurate line and length bouncer pace
Pragyan Ojha is billion times better bowler than Malcolm Marshall.
Pragyan Ojha and Ravichandran Ashwin are better pair than Deniss Lilee and Jeff thomson. They are even better than Michael Holding and Joel Garner.
None are DK Lille… who was the GOAT
One of the best bowler in the world cricket history and a role model for him....👍
Absolutely, that's precisely why he's known as Malcolm "Terror" Marshall.
What a great bowler ♥️ ♥️ ♥️
You could say the greatest
DUJON , WHAT A WICKETKEEPER.
And David Murray, rebel cricketer?
Hoi bhai
legendary wicket keeper
What a combo Marshall, Garner, Holding, Robert for their era..... Walsh, Ambrose, Bishop for their era.... No other teams can match this combo....
@Durval Clinton He knows his cricket.. the most lethal..Marshal, Holding, Garner, Croft and Roberts ever... working together at some point or another.. Aussies had to bite dust on quite a few occasions.. Also Wasim , Imran and Waqar..
@@tapanbhattacharjee9180 Their careers of Marshall and Andy Roberts only overlapped for 9 test matches played over 3 or 4 different series. Never against Australia. That famous quartet played 2 consecutive tests on the 1980 tour of England, and they were together for the 1983 home series vs India. Roberts was nearing the end of his career. Marshall, Holding and Garner were the 3 mainstays during Marshall's first 50 test matches from 1979-1986; with a revolving door of bowlers in the 4th slot... Roberts (9 matches), Colin Croft (7), Sylvester Clarke (6), Wayne Daniel (5), Winston Davis (10), Eldine Baptiste (7), Roger Harper (16), Patrick Patterson (6) and Courtney Walsh (9), plus few others for 1 or 2 tests. (These all add up to more than 50 matches because the Windies often played 5 bowlers; and Holding & Garner missed a few tests here and there with injuries.)
Imran Khan should not be grouped with Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. His best days as a bowler were well behind him in the 13 test matches he played with those other two from 1989-1992.. He took just 21 wickets at average of 35.00. Wasim & Waqar took 70 wickets apiece at an average of 21.00 and 19.00 in that time period. It was a formidable duo. Not a trio.
Why am I not surprised you didn't mention the Aussie bowling attack of Warne, McGrath, Gillespie, Lee (and MacGill) ? They dominated. They probably took more wickets and won more test matches for their country than any other bowling combo.
Pragyan Ojha is billion times better bowler than Malcolm Marshall.
Imran-Akram-Waqar
Lilee-Thomson- Pascoe- Hogg- Lawson - Rackman- Alderman
Also don't forget Colin Croft as well
i saw Malcolm bowling in Bournemouth ( when Hampshire used to play there ) and during the warm-up they would throw a batting glove on a length and the bowlers would try to hit it , Malcolm hit it every time , he was a different class
"You got Malcolm Marshall, then you sought the rest out after that" - Jeff Thompson picking the best bowlers of all time
2:55 look how easily he got Allan border out ....great bowler .Allan border names him as the best bowler he'd ever faced
The ball that dismissed Hughes was just as impressive as the one that dismissed Border. Even Lillee couldn't surpass Marshall 's class. I rate them as equals.
@@saleemkirmani5583 Hughes' ball kept low so not sure if it had the same wizardry as the ball that bowled AB. AB didn't get near it. Absolute jaffa as we would say here in Aus.
@@user-lg3sm1ny5fYou can bowl better than Malcolm Marshall and Andy Roberts but you can't bowl like Pragyan Ojha.
Absolutely magnificent and Marshall is so so way ahead of his time. Wish he was born 20 years later 🙂
One day hopefully, there will be a competitive Australia-West Indies rivalry again. It would be great for the sport overall.
Marshall - Class
Dujon - Class
Richards - Class
Windies 80s = Class
Greenidge - Class
Haynes - Class
Gomes - Class
Garner - Class
But yeah I agree 100%, Marshall was the best
how about
Lara
Walsh
Ambrose
Garfield Sobers
All great players, quite a few missing also.
Golden age of WI cricket
World class
Pragyan Ojha is billion times better bowler than Malcolm Marshall.
One of the best bowler to have played ever, Malcolm Marshall
Highly intelligent, great athlete, fierce competitor on the field, and by all accounts a gentleman off the field. Never heard a bad word said about him, universally respected by his peers and the cricketing public. Imo, the greatest fast bowler we've ever seen. If you don't have Malcolm Marshall opening the bowling for your All-Time XI, I question your knowledge of cricket.
At a time when the West Indies had a plethora of great fast bowlers, Michael Holding, Joel Garner, Andy Roberts, Curtley Ambrose, Courtney Walsh amongst others, he stood out as the best of them all. Cricket, the West Indies and the world lost a special player when he died far too young. RIP The GOAT Fast Bowler of them all.
Today's generation don't know much about him, but he is one of the finest bowler world cricket has ever seen. Andy Robert , Michael Holding , Joel Garner , Colin Croft , Malcolm Marshall , P Patterson , Courtney Walsh , Curtly Ambrose , Ian Bishop - that time it was most ferocious bowling line up in world cricket. West Indies what a team it was.
Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Malcolm Marshal, Colin Croft, Joel Garner!
The most fearsome pace attack any team in the the world ever had. It's once in centuries such fearsome, phenomenal pacers emerge and incinerate the batsmen in the opposition.
Most Fearsome bowler of our childhood. He was at his peak in 1982-83.
The greatest fast bowler ever, by some distance. 376 wickets at 20.9 is an absolutely stellar record.
Beautifully flowing action. Cricket at its best
Birth anniversary upload; a wonderful way to pay respects. Cricket Australia 👍.
Short man but had great skill.lots to learn for youngsters.
Absolutely, he was a role model for budding fast bowlers.
He did look short in comparison to the gaints around him like Joel Garner (6'8"), Michael Holding(6'3&1/2"), Andy Roberts & Sylvester Clarke (both 6'2"),Colin Croft, Courtney Walsh,Ian Bishop(all three 6'5"), Curtly Ambrose (6'7").He was not short in the true sense. He was 5'11" (same as Waqar Younis), at least a couple inches taller than many of the present crop of fast bowlers
like ,say, Fidel Edwards,Kemar Roach, Bumrah, Shami et al.
Andy Robert , Michael Holding , Joel Garner , Colin Croft , Malcolm Marshall , P Patterson , Courtney Walsh , Curtly Ambrose , Ian Bishop . End of the Mighty West Indies Dominance in World Test Cricket - Australia tour of West Indies 1995 . Richie Richardson Statement - Australia Weakest team ever he played .
Yes in that time West Indies is the best team in the world
Actually that is probably the strongest team they played against in 1995.
Slater, Taylor, Boon, Waugh, Waugh, Blewett (Maybe the weakest player out of the batters), Healy, Rieffel, Warne, Fleming/Julian (Probably the weakest out of the bowlers with McDermott retiring at the start of the series), McGrath
@@chasindigo McDermott didn't retire at the start of that series. He returned home with an injury along with Damien Fleming. He would play 6 more Test matches before finishing up. Get your facts right.
Not true from the form in the Sheffield shield... Who would you put in..I'm for one for horses for courses and it surprise me that one Jeff Thomson wasn't asked to pack for the 84 tour of the Caribbean and the Summer, his experience would gave been a bonus plus speed yes,yes he isn't Jr Thomson of 1976,but who is going to tell him.mike Hays man should have been given a go,John Maguire had a reasonable west Indies tour, tom Hogan'...pls share your thoughts..one needs to remember that like so many great teams they can only be great for so long....and the west Indies are where
Just reading that list makes me quiver in my boots.
Love the massive angle on the run up. Richards regarded Marshall as the best bowler he played with. His go-to-guy if the Windies wanted a quick wicket.
He dominated everywhere in the world.🙏
Greatest Fast Bowler Thats Ever Lived,Fast and Ferocius When he was Young And He was That quick For most Of His Carrer With exceptional Movement Both Ways and Latter mastered Cutters,He bowl Most Dangerous Bouncer I have seen He has Hit more batsman Than Even Hitman Andy Roberts.
And Who can Forget the Man came Out with A broken Arm and still get 7 wicket haul at leeds,Thats What Macko was
Greatest Fast bowler Ever.Period.
Marshall was a great bowler. Very deceptively fast for a short man. Unbelievable skills and accurate.
Since my childhood i heard the story of m.marshal....now i know he was supreme bowler of his era...
How peacefully those birds are watching Marshall bowling 😍
When you clean bowl Allan Border like that, you must be a special bowler
The best days of west indian cricket
Tremendous bowler,pace,accuracy and very skilled
How do you play a guy who bowls it at 150+kph, swings it both ways, has a bouncer you can't really spot and can extract uneven bounce on the Adelaide highway?
he bowled at 150+kph? I thought he bowled in the 130-140kph range
@@Cakemonster147 Reportedly he was a tearaway. Later in his career he was 140s, but I think early career he was 150+. I could be wrong, but there's a reason many pundits believe he was the greatest fast bowler to have lived.
Incorrect. ..Marshal was at most an early 140's bowler.
@@Warlock786 all the sources I've found say he was consistently 90+ mph (145+ kph).

*Greatest bowler ever to play the game of cricket 🙏🙏🙏*
*The Greatest to have ever played the game of cricket Sir Malcom Marshal 🙏*
Where is this talent now? Missing that flair and class of 80s Cricket. Absolute dominance by the WI team.
93mph bowler.. also he could swing and cut it both ways and add on to that his lethal skidding bouncer 😮. Undoubtedly the greatest fast bowler of them all.
You know Macco is fast when Michael Holding of all people claims that he was rapid.
Can you guys please start linking the scorecards of the matches. Cheers!
This was when the West Indies were at best, Viv Richards, Richie Richardson, Malcom Marshall and ect
‘Malcolm Marshall is the greatest we produced’ - Curtly Ambrose
Mighty West Indies for that era... Unbeatable..Marshall RIP
Absolutely, they were terror & literally terrorised teams all over.
Imagine him and Wasim Akram bowling at the peak Aussie team? What a contest that would be
Art of bowling
I have a lot of videos of Malcolm Marshall bowling and it seems there is not one video where he got thrashed or had a bad day in office what a genius bowler Rest in power💪
Rest in peace the absolute Legend.
The greatest Right arm fast bowler ever...
That was the real cricket. Love west indies from pakistan
Very few players from other countries played with anywhere near the level and flair of the great West Indians. Marshall the greatest all time followed closely by a long list of West Indian bowlers.
I grew up watching Marshall and Hadlee. Could you imagine how good they would have been on the same team!
The best West Indies bowler ever, and one of the top three greatest fast bowlers ever
He is the best fast bowler ever
Absolute awesome player so sad he died so young
My top 5 greatest fast bowlers ever
1. Wasim Akram
2. Malcolm Marshall
3. Waqar Younis
4. Andy Roberts
5. Curtly Ambrose
6. Dale steyn
7. Imran Khan
8. Lillee
9. Holding
10. Hadlee
Malcom,Ambrose, walse were far far better than wasim
Dale Steyn is the greatest of all time. Coming from a man who's seen Marshall, Akram and everyone else.
@@DC-zi6se Dale Steyn doesn't have a better Strike rate, economy OR average. Malcolm has him beat in every category. And Steyn have up over 2,200 MORE runs than Marshall in only 12 more games.
@@a.w.b.9971 Dale Steyn has better strike rate than Marshall, infact the best among all fast bowlers. Also, Steyn played in an era when pitches were more batting friendly and still has stats comparable to Marshall. One can argue for Steyn to be the greatest fast bowler ever.
Marshall, Lillie, hadlee, Steyn, McGrath
Marshall off a short runup , you're still going out pretty soon. RIP great champ.
Marshall is the greatest swing bowler of all time,West indies will never have a bowler like Marshall again.
Another Brilliant Upload Keep It up
he is my complete fast bowler
Wasim,Malcolm,Waqar,Roberts and Ambrose are top 5 greatest fast bowlers of all time for me with all due respect to Holding,Imran Khan,Garner,Lillee,Steyn,Walsh,Donald,McGrath,Hadleey,Dev,Thomson were all greats and giants of fast bowling too. Akhtar,Lee,Bond were greats too
Absolutely love Waqar but Waqar wasn't the same post 1995. I would say Macco, Wasim, Lille, Holding and Ambrose/Steyn would be top 5...Steyn purely because his numbers are insane in an era where wickets were completely flat.
Pragyan Ojha is billion times better bowler than Malcolm Marshall. Pragyan Ojha would have taken 800 test wickets but Malcolm Marshall took 376 test wickets. I can bowl better than Malcolm Marshall but I can't bowl like Pragyan Ojha.
*Old generation bowlers were lucky enough to bowl on juicy pacers friendly pitches . Wonder if shami , Cummins with their beautiful seam bowling on that pitch 😮😮, no way Batsman could survive.*
He was a mega bowler of that era marshall was not huge man but he was deadly bowler most middle order can't play him well due his great action .
Best of the best...🔥🔥🔥
True 👍
Are you an avid cricket follower ?
Absolutely.

One of the best bowlers West Indies had produced.
1983 world cup west indies team is the best team i have seen till today
That ball to Border is amazing. Unplayable.
What a total legend. The best of the best.
Malcolm Marshall is the most versatile bowler ever.
2020 Quarantine days :
Cricket Australia is publishing oldest cricket videos 🙄🙄😀😀
If you ask who is the best bowler in the history of cricket to legend's
90% of them will pick "MALCOM MARSHAL". THE G. O. A. T💯🔥
sad that t20s get tonnes of likes and videos like these which display the real cricket and absolute pure gold remain viewed by a select few
He has such a smooth cross runup.....☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
I am missing that great West Indies team.
My top bowling outfit would be Marshall, Lillee, Akram and Warne, with Sobers at 6 as the allrounder. Middle order Viv, Lara and Sachin, Gilchrist at w/k although given the top order could potentially pick a pure keeper. Most of the bowlers can bat. Openers Richards and Gavaskar.
Malcolm Marshal is not just Fast bowler but terror on opposition team,Other one is Ambroase ,Holding and Big Garner
Best team ever in world of cricket
Malcom Marshall is so beautiful bowling legends west indies
Marshall= Greatest bowler GOAT. Dujon=Finest WI keeper & all time great keeper off fast bowling. Made the stunning look simple...yet SPECTACULAR!! WEST INDIES WERE THE FULL MONTY UNDER LLOYD. BATTING, BOWLING & FIELDING!!
Great action. Like Jeff Thomson, didn`t know what`s happening till it`s too late.
Nice bowler ❤❤ Malcolm Marshall..
Old is gold
All time greatest bowler Malcolm marshal
Marshall holder best pair corner and Andy Roberts best pair ambrose and Walsh best pairs of 19th century cricket world nobody cannot match with them
I'm missing those glory days of West indies & Sri Lanka, when they had quality players like Ian Bishop, Brian Lara, Kumar Sangakara, Dilshan, Jawardana, etc. Current players & Talents of these both Teams aren't that great as compare to 1990s. Hope West indies & Sri Lanka will be on top soon.👍👍
Sri Lanka's golden era was Aravinda de Silva and Sanath Jayasuriya in their primes, never otherwise.
Yes.The 2 top cricketing teams of the world in 80s and 90s.

The best fast bowler ,plzz cric Australia upload more spells of Marshall's peak period(83-84)
Greatest Ever 💓💓
Please let us have a detailed analysis of this rare yet simple bowling action
Back when The West Indies used to decimate Australia in Australia
decimate every team..aus never got whitewashed by the windies though..aus always fighted in the last 2 games of the series..england on the other hand lost 5-0 twice to the windies in 84 and 86 and 4-0 in 1988 and that wouldve been 5-0 also if not for rain
@@dutchvanderlinde2488 remember the 79/80, 2-1 thrashing of Australia, when west indies got their revenge of the 1975/76 5-1 result.
@@pradeepbaurai5671 ok..but the windies smashed everyone..they beat india 3-0 in india i think 1986
@@dutchvanderlinde2488 the west indies did not lose a test series between 1980-1995. For fifteen years! (except for the 1981 new zealand tour where they had racist umpires). I once saw Imran khan saying in an interview that their goal did not use to be to think about winning or drawing the series against the windies, their aim in that period used to be to prevent a thorough thrashing. I read tendulkar's autobiography. Tendulkar was to debut against the west indies. But the board was afraid to expose the teenager to the frightening west indies quicks, so they delayed his debut.
And that whitewash of England that you talked about, Courtney Walsh was the waterboy during the whole series! A man who later went on to take 500 test wickets!
In terms of skills with the ball I'd say only Wasim Akram was better than Macco (not by much). What a fine bowler Malcolm was. Amazing how he and Wasim over such short run ups could generate that much zip of the wicket regardless of the state of the pitch. The amazing thing about Macco was he was a small man but could still hit you with a skiddy bouncer.
That's a great analysis. Totally agree
@@wce05308 thanks mate 👊💚
@UC4o6WpHjOaL1Lcm_3iDEx4g I'd say Wasim was a better exponent of reverse swing than Macco. He along with Waqar mastered the art. I never claimed who was the better bowler overall. That is subjective.
@@shahmianas8512 Well I saw Both Of Them at Their Prime And Marshall Was A Fast bowler Of Different Dynamics All together,As Far as Skills concerned Dont know how Wasim or Anyone Has bettered Him in That He surely Is best in That And Edges Out akram too,He maintained His Pace For nearly Throught His carrer with Exceptional Control and With most Mean bouncer Even more than of Andy Roberts.Never Saw someone as Good as Him.
He could Hit anyone Still remember His Feroucius spell at kanpur or in that Whole series.
And He was A Gentleman Whereas Akram Was A Highly controversial Cricketer.
@@kunalsingh3121 mate you are bringing in variables i didn't even bring up. I was talking about reverse swing and the ability to make the ball do things. Macco could certainly swing it but no one revolutionised reverse swing like Akram. He could reverse the ball both ways. Steyn was the only bowler in recent times I saw who could match that slightly. Still not even close to Akram.
Gentleman or controversial has nothing to do with what I'm saying. Please understand.
Back when Kepler Wessels still played for Australia.
Malcolm Marshall, the King of Kings ..
Then was the golden era of west Indies.Today's batsmen would find hard to play those bowlers.
