If this show were made in the 2010's, I imagine it'd be completely different. Because Kim's body type/shape makes everyone go "lawd have mercy" now days. In the 2020's though, I don't think writers are capable of or maybe too afraid to do an episode like this, but ignoring that, I imagine the episode wouldn't be possible because all the teens would be like "why are the skinny girls girls making fun of the girl with the gyatt. this doesn't skibbidy make any sense fr" or whatever kids are saying now days. I literally can't keep up.
I loved Michael with Kim. He treated her the way she should be treated and set Moesha and neicy straight . Kim was too good of a friend for Moesha and Neicy

Tbh I watched Moesha from beginning to end and they were all bad friends at a point in time to each other. There are many times Kim would ditch or leave Moesha hanging as well or do her dirty. Even Niecy played her part as a bad friend too. It’s just an eye opener to see what adolescents go through. They revealed at the end of the episode that they would all talk about each other behind their backs.

Kim was a big factor in applying peer pressure amongst the group as well as other things. They all played a part.

In my opinion I felt like the " you talk about me as well so were even" was a cop out to the real issue at hand and that is nobody, in media, movies, social standing have internalized fat-phobia, and don't want to see a plus-size or mid-size women shine. If Moesha was so smart she would have understand how complex society is toward body, mind, activism towards women etc. Kim was not wrong for say Moesha was boujeé , she acted like she was better than everyone, to good for a brand new car, cheering etc, and let not forget the cheerleading eps when she said "yo booty need to get on a diet" fatness and classism go hand in hand so yeah . This episode irks me so much! As many people people have already pointed out, Kim wasn't even really fat. She was shorter, and had a chubby, baby face, so I guess that just equated to enormous? Even though the episode tried to be like they all talked about each other, that's bull! Niecy and Mo were out of pocket haters, and Kim shouldn't have stayed friends with them. My favorite things about the episode though, were the Kim/Michael cuteness and hearing "Up Jumps the Boogie" for the first time, and loving that song ever since.

Y’all know these episodes were supposed to be life lessons for the teens actually watching the show when it aired, right? The whole of point Moesha occasionally being a bad friend was to show her audience of mostly teens girls how bad that looks and the consequences of not being a good friend. The point of watching these episodes was not to tell yourself as an adult, “This was so bad! How could they have done this in the ‘90s!?!?” It was an honest portrayal of teen life and how there’s ways of working through these character flaws and challenges.

It’s so crazy that Kim and Michael played a couple here…when Countess got The Parkers, she and the boyfriend actor were paired up again on season 2 except the boyfriend actor portrayed a different character but was still her temporary boyfriend.

The last Halloween theme episode of a tv show I can remember is Abott elementary. That was recently too.
Kim's character had more depth and nuance to her emotion. When she start on The Parkers they definitely dumbed her character down

It’s so crazy that Kim and Michael played a couple here…when Countess got The Parkers, she and the boyfriend actor were paired up again on season 2 except the boyfriend actor portrayed a different character but was still her temporary boyfriend.

The more I look back on Moesha, the more I realize what a terrible person she was. Her and Niecy were awful friends towards Kim. I'm so glad Countess Vaughn was a given a more successful spin-off with The Parkers 💯💯

They really used to play in Kim's face! Kim was not big like they made it seem, she was an average size. I remember wondering why she was being judged by Dwight P Pull's standards. Because in the 90's we called girls that size (especially if they had hips and b00ty) healthy, which means the same thing as thick. The weird older dudes were calling us that... YIKES

Baby, the used to be MEAN to Kim. That’s why when the show came back on Netflix I stopped watching because I didn’t realize how mean they were to Kim. The kicker: SHE WASNT THAT BIG. It felt like low hanging fruit and I couldn’t understand how Kim was one of her “best friends” but you talked to and about her in such a callous way.
