- WHATS GUCCI, Welcome back to another episode and in this one out onto the field to show you guys how to find cheap film cameras at a thrift store, luckily we were able to rescue a whole GRAIL of point and shoots as well as one SLR and a polaroid. Thrifting is only getting harder and harder as more people are starting to hop on the film wagon BUT that doesn't mean there aren't any deals to be had out there! Go out with a mindset thinking you won't be able to find anything and you will eventually come across a treasure. best thrift find: my mom found a original Leica iiib from 1939 with original Summitar lens. She payed 40 bucks, Its worth about 900.
I think My best thrift store find was last summer o got a Canon canonet ql17 gii for $5
I also found an OG OneStep recently- but my favorite thrift finds are my Polaroid Spectra AF and Sun 660. Point-n-shoot wise, I've gotten a lot of use out of my Canon AF35ML (with the bangin' f1.9 40mm lens!), and Sure Shot Z135 (affectionately named "ZoomBoy").

Great video man! I really suggest taking that One step for a shoot. Especially portraits. Film packs are less than $25 and may seem a little pricey but shooting one is a fun experience. (I have around 7 Polaroids 600s and 1 sx-70. They are a lot of fun. #MinoltaGang.

Those are the 'new' polaroids, made by another company, not the good old ones. These newer ones don't get good reviews. But the main problem is the film for these, most brands that are making polaroid films these days have quality problems, check out the reviews on Amazon

I always hit the local goodwill, they very often have decent point and shoots, just today I got an olympus mju II zoom, and an olympus stylus 115 zoom for $2 each. Not bad.

Olympus stylus epic is not the one with the 115 zoom, he got the zoom in the opening not like on the zoom ones, which have the zoom going out of the top corner

You can't imagine the work conditions behind these thrift stores, the shipping and sorting of the items in the warehouses. Good to keep in mind

In the UK, car boot sales are the place to do this. Last weekend alone, I found the following: Ricoh 500GX w/ Vivitar flash for £1, Olympus AF-10 Super for £1, Praktica BCA w/ 35-70mm zoom, case and 2004 expiry colour film for £3, Yashica MF-1 w/ case for £2.50, and a mint Canon Sureshot Max w/ case for £2. All work, although the Ricoh and Yashica need new light seals (well within my capabilities). Not quite as insane as the Yashica T4 for £1 I found a month or two ago, but a good haul nontheless. :)

I know this video is 5 years old, but I just wanted to drop in and say that those were some awesome finds! My first film camera ever was an Olympus Infinity Jr. that I got at a thrift store like 25 years ago, and about 2 years ago my dad snagged me that same Nikon One Touch for $2 at a thrift store. Crazy both those cameras are going for between $100 and $300 on the used market now. Sad that I sold the Infinty Jr. years ago, but still using the One Touch all the time. BTW, that's the Nikon L35AF2, which can do up to 1600 speed film.

But damn man they got some real thrift stores the in the US. Here in France it's practically inexistent, we got what we call Fripperie, which is basically a store for overpriced, waaaay overpriced used stuff. Like a 15 yo sweater for 84€, around 110$.

When I was in my local Savers (Value Village) their was an ad saying the inspect every item they receive. I don't think the inspect cameras, I sometimes have to clean corrosion off of battery terminals.

Wish we had thrift stores like this in the UK, we have similar things called charity shops but you’ll hardly ever find cameras, at least I never see them
I have more success at car boot sales than charity shops - a lot of the charity shops have cottoned on that film cameras are worth more than a couple of quid and put them on eBay to get the best prices for them.

5.50$ for a Nikon N60 (F60 outside of the USA)?! The cheapest working one on ebay i could find was like 25€ (=~28$)!
sick, the one-touch came after the l35af the difference is the original L35AF lens was five elements in four groups, while the newer L35AF2 lens has four elements in three groups, I personally enjoy the look of the l35af

I'm really, REALLY jealous for those thrift stores; there's nothing like it in my country, we just recently got pawn shops. Other than that, OM707, really? The camera that killed original OM line of Olympus film cameras...
There are lot of F mount lenses available new and used that should work with the Nikon N60. That Polaroid is original from the late 1970s and early 1980s. I remember Ricoh being a big manufacturer in copiers. You should of snag that camera because it has that big lens for more light to come into the film. Peace, Flood!

VVS Chopps are you in a very populated area? Plan a road trip like 2-3 hours out through some smaller cities/towns and hit up all the thrifts, you'll come up.
Go around spring, and go early. Many donate cameras because of spring cleaning.
