I have the ZT0470, love it probably my favorite ZT of the 5 I have. I agree with the assessment of the clip, I actually bent mine (caught it on something and bent it badly), thankfully it bent back into shape easily. Also the ZT0550 deep pocket clip fits this model (as well as the ZT 0456 BTW) you just have to ask Kia.USA for one and they will send one out for you free. I also requested more screws to fill up the empty holes when I asked for a deep carry clip (again free) Concerning the lanyard hole, you can get non-gutted paracord through, it is just very difficult, and I did not have to take the knife apart to get it through. My ZT 0470 has a snake knot (with bead) lanyard attached.
You finally got one. I'm still loving that look. I got to handle a sample/prototype at Blade Show and knew that was one I wanted. Just waiting for it to arrive at my favorite knife vendor.
I've had this one on my radar since I first saw it, but cash has been tight lately, Hopefully, after Christmas, I will be getting one. I think I may go the ano route on this one. I think a bronze ano would be awesome on this knife, even though it looks just fine the way it is. I love marbled CF..that just puts it over the top for me.
I've had the 0470 for like 2 weeks it quickly became one of my favorites. If you get the chance check out the 0850 it's a little big but the blue carbon fiber is gorgeous
I have this knife and been carrying it for about a month. The clip was the only negative for me. I replaced the clip on mine with a milled titanium clip. I think the milled clip makes the plain side look much better. I would also like a titanium or carbon fiber back spacer when I can find one to replace the aluminum one.
@@SliceyDicey I was lucky and found one used like new on ebay for half the price. @45 bucks yes they are pricey. I think I payed 20 or 25 for the used one.
I’m fine with the clip too. Not a fan of many milled Ti clips that are too stiff. I’m more about clip function so I go for the bent wire clip that Spyderco uses. If its a fancy knife, then the Begg style clip with ceramic ball is my preference.
You could make the Battle a 3 way with the Doug Ritter. I know what you mean about the clip. I felt that way about the Southard. I even had a deeo carry clip waiting when it arrived and decided it was fine just the way it was.
Gentleman’s carry from ZT. I used to carry the Spyderco Chaparral as a gentleman’s folder, and it’s still a great option; however the 470 is now my go to for a professional or suit and tie situation. Compared to the Chaparral, which just disappears, it’s harder to carry, but for all practical purposes, it’s still easy to carry. However, it’s more capable, classier in my opinion and a bigger show piece.
Great review. I really like that carbon even if it detracts a little from the ZT sound. Definately a gentlemanly knife. May have the shape of an Atmos but that is where the similarities end.
Out of interest, Mr Dicey, what would you say is your favourite ZT model? I have the 0562 and I know you do too (I love it!), but I mean out of all of the models you've handled? Thanks, man
@@SliceyDicey That's great to know, cos it's the only one I've got at the mo! I wish I'd waited for the all ti edition, but I've got the plain g10 model. Mind you, I deliberately didn't get the carbon fibre one because it added so much onto the price that I realized I wouldn't have been able to happily carry it as a 'user', but I DO use my g10 version- so it worked out for the best in the end👍
Cool that you raced MTB, that's really cool. This model is super pretty but yuck, that action and detent turned me off. Have you disassembled and cleaned it?
If ZT's are too expensive imagine looking through Chris Reeve knives... my collection is small but I do own 2 microtechs and each are plenty more expensive than a ZT, they are tough and American made all 3 are, however does that justify spending $200 on a ZT? $300 on a microtech? $400 on a Chris Reeve? You decide, for me I am happy spending $350 on my microtech socom elite, $270 on my microtech LUDT, and plan to spend $450 on an exclusive small inkosi from Chris Reeve, it all depends on how the user perceives the price vs. value equation, the biggest thing to understand is there is no wrong answer to this because it is completely up to YOU, if you are happy with your ATMOS than rock on dude, just understand some dudes like myself prefer much more expensive knives for edc carry, and respect them if they respect you
This is a very nice knife, but for whatever reason it's not doing it for me. I do have my eye on another Sinkevich design, though...the sprint run Carbon Fiber, 20CV steel Zero Tolerance ZT456CF.
I have a few knives now with after market marbled carbon fiber scales, and none look as sweet as those inserts...it looks like carbon fiber and the Venom symbiote had a baby...I think a deep carry link clip would fit that, just send an email to kershaw.
Sorry about that! Accidentally made it private for a minute there.
Love your reviews. Still have the 0470?
A milled titanium clip with a little strip of that marbled cf might have been nice. It does have a great look to it overall though.
Omg I love this knife. I am a Sinkevich fan. Has a little bit of 70’s look to me.

I almost quit collecting when I got this knife. It's the perfect edc for me
I love that marbled carbon fiber. This knife was first time I saw that type.

Did you end up getting it? If so, how’s the detent?
I just picked up the 0470 too, I had to adjust the lock bar to give it a stronger detent, now it's flipping out good.
How did you do that?
@@AlexanderSLeBlanc take it apart and bend it in more

To me this looks to be the best of ZT. Hope they stay on this course although it's out of my price range. I'm more of an atmos guy. Thanks, harry

Probably middle of next week.

Where did you get the milled one? Of course you post this AFTER I ordered an MXG Gear one lol.
@@SliceyDicey MXG gear sells a milled clip for the 0450 that fits on the 0470.
Citythekitty Aaahhh Didn’t come up on my search for the 0470. $45. I’ll try the cheaper black bent one I ordered first.

I bought one and I love it. Funny how we all have different taste I think the pocket clip is perfect. I hate the standard painted black pocket clips.

Weird. I heard that a few times now that people wished a harder detent. My 470 really has a nice strong detent. Maybe mine was the outlyer.

I have the same knife and I dont have any milling on my scales. Think it was changed??
Dunno.

It would have to be alot snappier for 240 clams.
I would put my money on the 0470 in the battle to the death. The proprietary hardware on the 0609 alone sets the 0470 ahead in my book.
