- Mercedes Benz W220 Summer Convenience Feature Repair. The feature worked but the key had to be held up to the sensor. In order to provide some addition range and for the device to operate as designed, the circuit board was resoldered. Thank you Mugs132 for providing the information needed to resolder the board.
Most videos show people cutting that little metal tab off with a dremel or something.. glad I came across this video before actually diving into this project. Thanks in advance!!
It depends on the year and model. mine is a 05 c230k(w203) which has the 2 tabs not the 1
Mine 04 e320 don't twist off
Dude that was amazing you’re the only person I’ve seen twist it off in order to take it off of the bracket everyone else broke the things and had to use a zip tie you learn something new every day I just wonder if this works on a 2006 W211
Yea, I don't know where I learned that. Could have been Mercedes Service Workshop. Breaking the part open did not make sense to me. This is a no harm no foul situation. You will not damage or hurt anything if this does not work for you.
@@A_Renaissance_Manhow are you twisting like tharlt mine don't do that
@@robertehlers4330 no tricks or video magic. The key fixture is disassembled as shown.
Thanx - good contribution...now I don't have to saw off the metal tab neither. Well done, David!
MB owner manuals explain about this feature.
@@nivaldo758 never noticed didn’t even see hidden features in mines
I going to give it a try tomorrow
I have q different problem, mine works but it hates sunlight and is very sensitive to it, at night it works 100% but in bright daylight it won't work
Actually, I have run into that. In this video you can see how close I had to hold the key fob to the door receiver.
Check both key fobs or buy a new (empty) fob and transfer the card into the new one.
Of course you can just live with what you got as these cars lose many functions over time.
Good Luck
You're welcome.
Cant twist it off like you still tryinvyou the only one i seen twist it off. Not easy as you did or everyone would do that instead of breaking the ear
I don't know why because it worked for me.
@@A_Renaissance_Man different models trust me I saw how you twisted that with ease was not happening but either way it a great repair got mine working from distance it has never worked like that
@@A_Renaissance_Man either way great job I just put in new door lock actuator lol I wish that was as easy as this lol
I fixed mine with a piece of sandpaper. Just polished the lens.
What grit of sand paper did you use?
please help me. should i link those two circuit points or what?? please
help. what should i realy do? s il vous que dois je réellement faire
avec l éteint? dois je interconnecter les deux terminaisons du circuit
ou comment? thankyou a lot
Napo Wagbe solder them separately
Do you have a hard time getting this to work in the daylight? I have to cover the sensor with my hand to block the light cor it to work.
Yes, I find that it really is not all that great on a hot sunny summer day when you really need it to work. It is just as easy to get in, start the car, and do it all yourself.
David Prokity Thank you. I've been trying to get more information on this.
Q. Lawrence Did you get any more info?
Nothing yet. I'm just living with it for now.
Q. Lawrence Well did you find an easier solution? I got it to work yesterday then when i was trying to show my wife it was stalling on me. i thought the key fob needed a new battery. Do you know that it's another way to open and close all the windows at once by pushing and holding the circulate the air in the car button?
