I'm a wedding DJ and for warmup I always play dilla beats because his music brings so much human joy into the people that if I play his beats silently in the back the atmosphere becomes friendly and joyful. His music inspires me to put effort in my way of thinking and creating music. Thank you dilla
now you gave me an idea lol
this is the truth. i put J dilla on when im doing photoshoots. Its easy to the ears, most people love it.
Wish you did my wedding....Big ups frfr!!!!
Great idea.. I spit over this master piece.. Let me know what you think

Salute!
I lost my job today and pandemic shit .. but this song .. life goes on
Sorry to hear about your job loss. This shit will eventually be over and we can go back to being somewhat normal.
Hope you survive out there 👍👍👍
Keep ya head up. We are a resilient people. Praises to the most high. You are important, you will recover. Let's pray for those folks worst off than us.
Keep your head up🌞
Stay Strong
His bounce back then was ridiculous. The bass and kick and snare are so sloppy and perfect.
So swingy yet so tight and in the pocket.
Bro, Dilla was making "chilled hiphop beats to study to" before that was even a thing, and he's still the GOAT at it.

@@gphi6053 Facts GPHI spitting truth here, I kno u didn't mean it Stealing Fire but don't disrespect Dilla by categorizing his music as "chilled hiphop beats to study to," dude is way too far ahead of any of those cats

@Jayo Delaware Lmfaoo how are you about to say that about Qtip when he's literally on "Hip-Hop Evolution" talking about how Dilla's beats blew his mind, and he showed every rapper and producer he knew Dilla's work. Get that disrespectful talk outta here dawg, learn ya hip-hop history and keep the vibes positive.
@Jayo Delaware you sound dumb as fuck. All the people mentioned give Dilla his props. Q-tip had a group with him called the Ummah where they learned from each other. Show respect to the legacy or keep your mouth shut.
It's amazing the fact you can be listening for this repetitive track for 30 minutes and you don't get bored of it. It's almost like magic. Only Dilla was able to do that
This Is Slightly True Nicolay Of Foreign Exchange Has Beats You Can Do That With Too... Like "Come Around" or "Take Off The Blues"....

Pete Rock too! A Little Soul is absolute magic.
turns out all we humans really need in the end were some good beats.
Hopefully we haven't realized this too late.
With some good organic
Absolutely. I've been bumping this for the past 10 years.
Not really the end, just the beginning with some really good beats

I kept wanting to stop listening but I was sucked in to a mood that was everlasting. J Dilla is my go to when I feel down. This is how you get high!!!! RIP JDilla we miss you bro!!!

I'd love to go to Detroit before I die...
I was already a student to Dilla.
I recently lost my close friend to an overdose. Dont really know how to describe it, but this one more than ever seems to describe how it feels to feel a person's ghost lingering.

Love you all!!
Big fun hel
I pray you're doing better this year!
@@IamTiaB much love ❤️ every day is a blessing
J Dilla basslines never get tired out
He has the greatest baselines. They speak a mystery language.
I remember the drives I used to make in Cape Town when I worked there. Whether sunny or rainy, this and other Dilla joints were the only thing between the car, the road and myself
Yo i swear Im gon be bumbing this shit for the rest of my life man

Don't know how I will make it through this but J-Dilla is making it way better...TODAY

These extended J Dilla remixes are better than any of these corny "lo-fi hip hop beats to study/relax to" vids TH-cam insists on recommending me. No thanks guys, I'll stick to Dilla.
Reading all the comments, feel like we all share the same spirit
yeah Dilla and this one stops all the madness right in it's tracks. could you imagine if he was still with us...
There will never be another J Dilla. :(

This is the first beat that made me fall in love with Jay Dee in '96. Funny I didn't even know or paid much attention to the producers credits. This beat, 1nce Again by ATCQ, Still Shinning Busta Rhymes and De la Soul Stakes Is High had always had me buggin', something grabbed me into these beats, they had so much soul. 4yrs later in 2000 when I started paying attention to the producers. I realised that Jay Dee produced Common's Like Water for Chocolate album and I went back to research more about Jay Dee. I found out that he produced some of my favourite tracks in Hiphop, this joint (Keith Murray - The Rhymes Remix) I fell in love with Jay Dee stuff even more. This is one of the reasons why I like to refer to him as Jay Dee because my favourite stuff of his is when he was Jay Dee. These beats (Keith Murray - The Rhymes Remix, ATCQ 1nce Again, ChinoXL- Don't say a Word, Crustation - Purple, Erykah Badu Didn't Ya Know, Bilal Reminisce and many others) were the gateway of Neo-Soul music, of course they were people like D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Bilal who were also taking the route of Neo-Soul but they all testified that they had so much influence from Jay Dee. So yeah Jay Dee is one of the founders of Neo-Soul Music and it started with joints like this in 1996. I saw one of the interviews from the members of 5 Elementz the group Jay Dee produced for in the '90s, they also testified that they and Jay Dee aka J Dilla were the original founders of Neo-Soul.
Dilla was one of a kind. A producer that could drop a beat to make you move but never lacking in smoothness.
I've returned to this track countless times, Dilla was one of the greats, R.I.P, thank you for all the inspiration and long nights with your music. Wish I was old enough to listen to your music while you were still here, but this is just to show that your music will live on through the generations. It's all love y'all, enjoy every day ✌️
Années 90.. JayDee... souvenirs... hymne à la joie.. indémodable ... repeat beat... auchement de tête sur la caisse Clair... et que dire de l'intro piano ... Merci Bro

Just discovered JD. A week ago and man has it been a ride
Man idk how to describe it. This sensation I get with dillas beats. Enough to move me to tears every single time. Shit is wild. This song definitely vibrates on whole another wavelength. R.I.P
I was hypnotized when I first heard this in the 90s. Same feeling to this day. Even had my mom singing "IT BE LIKE THAT SOMETIIIIME" 💯💯💪💪
Over 30 minutes of arguably one of the best Dilla beats ever laid down.....life is just great

I first heard this in the 90’s as a kid and as an adult in 2019 I’m still loving it.
Mr Murray once again. Uncontrollable....

This track will always spellbind me. It sounds like the infinite cycles of life and death in the universe. I've listened to this track in all sorts of mindframes, altered and otherwise, and it, to the core is pure magic. Maybe my favorite collection of sounds ever put together in all music. RIP everyone
I stumbled on to this art while looking for old schools beats, then I found this one , after listening for couple of seconds I just left it there and closed my eyes . Life goes on.
People are protesting for change and justice while other’s are rioting and stealing...and then there was this beat that reminded me to stay hopeful...🖤🪐🔥One love

Keith Murry and JDilla
Keith was soooo underrated!
Love this real hip hop right here!
You mean chillhop
This is a nice beats especially after a looooong day !
I lived in Detroit for about a year and Dilla always brings me back to the cool old places I got to spend time in. Detroit has so much texture and history it's hard not to feel nostalgic.
little bit of bob james nautilus at 2:55? dilla knew no bounds man always pushing the limits of the human ear. dope stuff
I could listen to this instrumental for hours on end. Dilla's sample flip of Bob James song "Nautilus" is insane... how the hell is it even humanly possible? *That's just it, J Dilla was not human. The guy knew production secrets that we will never know... that's the beauty of it. ;) - long live the king.
I've been looking for this beat for years and finally found it today!
This is so catchy.
What a masterpiece from the Great J Dilla May he rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏

Still have my wax too. Bought it back in 96-97 before I knew who Jay Dee was. All I knew is that beats were 🔥
After many listens, I think this track is perfect.
As smoooooooth as it gets. So nice.
Love that Detroit in the background where the legend J DILLA is from! RIP!
Music that make you elevate....you change my life and everybody around me at that time we use to listen to it at my House every sunday with all my dj s friends from there inspiration just come by itself #4everDilla 🐐💯🔥
I love listening to this when I'm making art, I put it on repeat 3, 4, or 5 times its so good. There's just something about it.
Perfect end-of-summer tune. 🌆🌆🌆
I think it's fair to day everything that J Dilla has made is the pure definition of hip hop
The way J Dilla manages the transition from Bill Evans' treatment of the song to that of his own is sublime genius.
This masterpiece cannot be duplicated!

He had a way of recontextualizing samples in a genius way. Nautilus, Funky Worm, Moments of Love... he could use them as just a little spice and not the main part. And way more melodic than anyone else.

My all-time favorite Jay Dee/Dilla beat.
Me and my brotha John (JT Money) uses to roll around in his cavalier bumping this constantly. This came out about a year after I graduated from High school and to this day is my favorite Dilla beat from this time period. Like floatin thru space.
You know a beat dopeAF when you listen to this entire 30minutes head knoddin' w/ the same level of excitement & consistency! Dilla was GOD sent! He was special. In my head I'm rhyming classic 90s verses to this beat. Spit Raekwon's C.R.E.A.M. verse to yourself in your head while listening. 🔥🔥🔥
Spit AZ & Nas' "Life's A Bitch" verses in your head while listening to this instrumental. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Jdilla had a talent for creating a scene with his music he knew how to tap into the pleasure centers of human soundbuds I could see why people play this time of music in social settings.
