“Everything was covered perfectly! ❤ I absolutely loved the location where you filmed-it added so much to the vibe! I also hope the ZV-E1 gets that auto subject selection feature soon-it would be amazing not having to manually choose the focus every time. Fingers crossed!”
Before I got into photography, the A1 brought me into the fold. I wanted nothing more than the A1. I still can't afford it, but I did buy the A7IV, and I've been happy with that. Maybe one day I will be able to afford such a beast! As always, Terry, great video, great color, and crispness!
It’s better in some ways. And in a lot of ways, not. Plus you aren’t bringing up the point of ecosystem etc. Nothing wrong with either decision. Get what works best for you and your pockets/needs
@ yeah but almost every Canon lens has stabilization which is such a bonus. I don’t understand why Sony doesn’t add OSS to there more expensive lenses like 24-70. It’s so stupid
Z8 is currently $3000 less and does 8k 60 internal raw! CF Express B is also a lot cheaper and faster than the A variant. R5II is also has similar advantages with maybe better autofocus The price will be a problem imo. But maybe not. This camera isn’t going to get anyone to switch systems.
I've listened to many reviewers express their gripes about this camera. Elite Camera but not enough of an upgrade to justify the price point. I've never had an A1 camera so this will probably be the best camera I've used if I purchase it but I hear rumors of an A7V announcement. Coming from an A7IV, I think I'll hold off, especially since what that camera could potentially offer will be a lot cheaper than than the other elite Sony Camera Bodies. Hopefully. Great review Terry!
Well, not enough of an upgrade shows you how bad ass the A1 already was. Don’t get it twisted. This new A1 II is literally one of the most powerful cameras on the planet. It’s ridiculous. I’m getting one for sure
@@TerryWarfieldbruh that’s a lot of cap for Sony. It’s not about how good the A1 is in a vacuum but how it is in relation to the competition. Canon and Nikon have come out with way better cameras since the first A1 was first announced and now offer a lot more value compared to the A1II. As you mentioned the camera should’ve had 8k60 raw which the competition has at a cheaper price. Do a side by side comparison and tell me with a legit face this camera is worth $2k-$3k more that the competition.
@@TerryWarfield Hey Terry, I got to try out the A1 II recently. Haha to say how impressed I was by the camera is an understatement. Crispy Crème Camera bro. I want one. 😂
🥱 The camera market has plateaued everybody makes great cameras at different price points so a $6500 upgrade isn't feasible or necessary to most people these days. Cool camera, I'm realizing im set with my Z8 for a long while.
The problem isn’t the weak upgrade, it’s a mature market and hard for tech to get much better. The issue is the price. Terry mentioned 8k60 raw missing. Well the Canon R5mii can that and it cost over $2000 cheaper. Wait until the side by side review come out and you have to pixel peek to possibly notice a difference between this, the R5mii and Z8.
Is Sony saying stuff like maximum bit rate at 520 and 4:2:2 10 bit are an update? Because that's what they are on the alpha 1 that's in my hands right now...
This camera is ok ....till I saw how much a Nikon Z8 cost - I love Sony and own many primes & GM lenses - They need to rethink their prices - here is hoping the A7V gets half these features for half this price 😂
I wanted to buy the a1 mk2 for wild life, but I legitimately can't do it because of the Z8 and R5 mk2 prices. It just seems stupid to buy with the competition being so good for so much less.
Disagreed. The are two very different tools albeit In the same body. So personally, the global shutter is cool and yes it’s ground breaking. But it comes at the expense of iso performance, megapixels, etc. however, the a9iii also has a bunch of other things you couldn’t get in any other camera. Well now, you can. I’d rather have the a1’s stacked 50.1mp sensor; it’s better dynamic range, and the ability to still use aps-c mode at 21mp. And 30fps is plenty fast and honestly faster than most will ever need. Different strokes different folks. I’d take the a1 II over the a9iii any day, especially since now it has all the other advantages the a9iii has
Really good review. You kept it moving along and gave all of the details we need. Great job!
Thank you!

I own the A1 mark I and will probably update just because of the screen. Love my mark I.
Great coverage man! That missing 8K60 for video is a huge let down

The R5 II is $2000 less and does more. Sony jumped the shark on this camera. Dead in the water!!

Fair take

Great review. I think I’ll hold on to my A1 until the next A1 iii
Thanks Man! Original a1 is still fantastic
Put some respect on my A6700... I'm crying inside. #Levels - gratitude for the overview.
Ha! Thats still an amazing little camera
… no brainer, I‘am a journalist, preordered instantly - thx for your opinion! 👍🏻
Nice!
When specific lens did you use for the opening shot of yourself? It’s beautiful lol
24-70mm f2.8 gm II for the entire video
@ thx!
Here to watch your review first!
Much love!!
hey, have you tried raw output 8k30? i am worried since the tech specs say otherwise
What camera are you using to film yourself in the beginning of the video?
ZV E1
@@RiposteThislens? Any diffusion filters? Image is nice!
Nope. Just that and the 24-70mm f2.8 II

I thought the original topped out at 420. Could be my error.
is it 8k 422?

Can’t argue with either of ya!
Any chance that the a1ii is faster transitioning from photo to video, and vice versa? Asking for a hybrid shooter.
I don’t have the camera anymore but I didn’t see any lag when I was using it
Excellent video
Thanks man
Happy with the Sony zv-e1.
It’s an amazing little camera
Hey Man. So is it 4k or 5k second iso in SLog3?
4k
@ thanks, man!
Nice camera, but for 6 large⁉️ I’m gonna stick with that ZV-E1, b.
Big up on the video, brutha. 🫡🥃
Thanks man. And man just sell a kidney and you’ll have plenty left lol
Lol congrats on finding that squirrel
You rock man👌👌👌 but now I am wondering… canon r5 II ??? And I don’t like Canon 😟😟😟
Both are bomb cameras. The r5ii is a fantastic option
Amazing camera but not enough changes for me
Fair
Let down from Sony this time.
I would love for you to shoot 10/15 short doc or indy movie with ur cameras.
A mouse farting 🤣🤣🤣
for the algorithm
Unbury this TH-cam!
Tell em!
A9iii has a global shutter, A1ii has no global shutter and is $500 more "BIG MISTAKE" ... I would get the A9iii - this doesn't inspire the purchase...
