That Transparant Grading team has a great potential I think. BGS has a terrible pop report. Lot of my cards are not even in the pop of Beckett, this Transparant Grading team has even scans of the card! Love it! (p.s I think PSA will buy the company in the next 5 years)

The key was he pulled it in 2003-04. There wasn't many public group breaks back then. The internet was just starting to evolve and social media at its infancy.
@@alphaomega9563 its unfortunate but the hobby has expanded GREATLY into investments and thats just not going to happen. 20 years from now people are going to have graded 10s and collections that are preserved. Those times of having a card and holding 20 years and its a million are most likely over.... even on the high end stuff.

I agree Geoff we need to get younger generation into buying, selling and trading. But don't forget Geoff to tell your kid the pitfalls of card collecting. For example, Ripping packs is a form of gambling and can lead to some serious problems as well.

While that's true and awesome, until they take off and become known in the industry no one is going to care since PSA and Beckett are at the top. Even SGC struggles when it comes to price comparisons of card values after grading when going up against those 2. Beckett struggles against PSA in some areas. I prefer SGC and wouldn't mind the grading company mentioned here but for investment value and a better return on your money, you can't compete with PSA or Beckett atm and that's sad as they aren't the only companies out there.
I have 5 of those Josh Allen’s rated rookies nice cards. I also have 2 optics Josh Allen’s glad I didn’t go trading those away or selling them. Only go up from their!!!

Theirs some nasty Lebron and Jordan Cards in that set. Best set of all time is 2003"-04" Upper Deck Exquisite. First cards everyone watched others open that I remember. Seen multiple Jordan/Lebron Dual jersey autos😵💫😵💫
Man I still remembered when Exquisite first came out in 03/04, We all thought $400 to $500 a box was crazy price. I wished I opened some but I was a poor college student then. Then again even if I bought a box and pulled a Lebron, I would've prob had to sell it then or at least a few years later anyways. Would've been kicking myself since it would make me a millionaire today.

I heard about Transparent Grading about two weeks ago. I love the idea of subgrades, but actually seeing the scans with notes takes things to a whole other level. I could get behind that. I'm just not a fan of their labels. They remind me of HGA's labels, but somehow worse. One thing I think HGA got right is their scores are lined up with one another rather than just having the number placed immediately right after the category. HGA's is more aesthetically pleasing in that area IMO.
i think as a whole the hobby has to get outta the mindset of how attractive a slab is.... Thats a company thats doing grading correctly with scans, notes, and highlights of your exact cards. That SHOULD BE the premium product on the market if theyre doing that.
As much as i LOVE the card community. It still disgusts me how sellers try to scam people and are stubborn on price...the rule of thumb is if you WANT to sell you will post it at a LOWER price than last recently sold. And if you're not willing to do that...don't sell it..hold it. 🤦♂️
Sellers love to scam noobs in the hobby so they overprice items hoping a noob walks by and buys the card. I had a seller at the Dallas show value my card at 70% trade value and had his card over comps value. Felt insulted and just said " thanks anyways but i'll pass"
I pulled a michael jordan 97-98 ud game jersey auto card numbered to 23. I sold it to the shop I bought the pack from for 8,000. I was only 14 years old. My dad said it was my decision so I said yeah. Today that card is worth over 2.7 million.
I totally agree with setting up the next generation in the hobby that's why on our new channel we are giving away good cards with huge potential as often as we can keep posted for our great giveaways !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t think anyone should be picking up football slabs right now, with the start of the season 2 weeks away, you should be selling all football. Risk is big in the first couple of weeks especially with injuries happening early in the season.
I purchased 3 cases (9 boxes) of 2003-04 Exquisite back in 2004 and opened all of them. I ended up selling everything in 2010 and the opened wooden boxes on eBay a couple yrs ago. Man, I wish I would have kept them unopened.
In USA the people are a bit crazy to spend so much money for cards with a real value of 1$. Sometimes a younger generation loses the wish to collect it and the card prices tumble. The same happend with stamps

Guy worked for Topps from 1953 till 1975 in Bham,Al. Delivering cards, restocking the stored card etc, He had the left over cards in his garage. 100s of left over boxes. When he retired and moved he took all those boxes and burned them. This is true cause my Dad called him in 1990 and asked about them. I guess he burned 100 million bucks worth of cards. Still cry when I see a Mickey Mantle card.
