Funny because I just got on my Sis about not writing thank you notes for her baby shower which the guests really showed up and showed out with gifts. My grandmother didn't play that. A verbal thank you wasn't enough. She was big on proper social etiquette.

I know the feeling well I just had a dinner party people hadn't seen in 4 years 3 years 2 years dot-dot-dot all they did was complain about the distance how far out I live in the suburbs blah blah blah. I'll put them three other kinds of liquor and spirits and me and they want to come in the kitchen and look and see that I'm drinking Hennessy and Coke sweetie that wasn't what I offered you. Everybody had a gift soon as they walked in the door three different items in each give bag free food free drinks free liquor rewind free Spades free heat for that day was hot soufriere and then you have the nerve to still come in somebody house complaining and looking focus on the head and acting crazy it doesn't make sense. But you know what never again. PS everybody was late I'm not talkin 10 minutes 15 minutes I'm talking about 50 minutes to up to 2 hours late okay. And all of them know when I say the food is going to be ready by 2 my food is already ready the only thing that probably is not going to be ready is the cornbread everything else is ready. I had to go back and rewarm the food and everything. Never again baby not in 2019 and Beyond. Imma get me some new friends... LOL just looking me venting but it's really sad when people do you like that

I fed about 80 people on Thanksgiving downtown in our popular homeless location they was very grateful and so was I grateful enough that I had the funds to buy and cook all the food

Thanksgiving and Christmas I would cook majority of the meal with dessert and when I tell you I get nothing but attitude and looks from immediate family!!! I would invite the them to my house for the fourth of July and I would do all the cooking and they wouldn't need to bring anything! Oh they ate up the food, damn near didn't think to leave anything for me and my son. They barley speak, acting crazy, and have so much to say about me and mines. So guess what, now I make my 6 or 7 pecan pies, pack my son and I clothes and go to Thomasville, Ga and spend almost all the holidays with my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. And we have a ball!!! So i know exactly what that kind of treatment is all about. I have learned to go where I am appreciated. Glad to know my mentality ain't wrong. God bless😁😁

Brought me to tears, that’s a shame how family do you. I lost my son 5 years ago and holidays are never the same anymore. I would give anything to enjoy a meal with my entire family. You are a blessing Rickey and ur idea for next Thanksgiving is brilliant. We fed and donated to the homeless for my late son’s 30th birthday this year which brought joy to our hearts. I spent $$$ and hours cooking Christmas dinner last year. My mother pulled up outside and asked for a to go plate. A few days ago she asked me what are "we" doing for Christmas dinner. Girl, bye😵

I can so relate to your experience. Now I help the homeless with my resources. Family was not only ungrateful. but would verbally attack me and talk about me. I became wiser. Still love people but I expend my strength on homeless children and others who need and appreciate the help. No guilt feelings about it either.once I made up my mind to go in another direction, I was freed even from bad feelings of hurt and resentment against my family. Free to love everybody now.

I'm 65 years blessed and I have seen this very video you're describing in my family..And we had the finest of blueprints to model after in our Grandparents and parents. But except for a few the rest are ungrateful snout nose kids and back stabbings adults...So I've been thinking for years like you to take my only child, my adult daughter, whom like your Beautiful daughter has been by my side in the kitchen for years helping my mom, me, and her aunties and great aunties,buy and shop for then prepare the meals and clean up after them and in some "cases" pick people up and drop them off !! Well, it's all like you said and more in your videos the 90 years blessed are the Genration of appreciation💝 yours and mine and our daughters generations have glimmers of appreciation sprinkled in like the sprinkle on a cake. I understand the feeling completely. I was so tired of be criticized about everything from food to decor. Who in the hell cares if there's no sprinkles on the sugar cookies, "WHAT"! They can't make a contribution to the dinner but they buy new & bigger plastic containers to pack to go meals ( not plates but meals ). Or they'll bring a six pack of soda and 5 kids 2 friends, 3 co workers, plus their in laws now you talking about being pissed.... So I stopped doing Christmas dinner for family. Now I have a pre Christmas dinner for my mother and all of her siblings. They all love the food, enjoy the decorations, and everyone is leaving by 3 - 4 p.m. My mother and her siblings range from 62 - 80 in age so they all bring a plus one ( no young children ). It's been beautiful. They appreciate the opportunity to get together to laugh and talk with each other at this time of year. No kids running in house, no fussing, no complaining. Just good times and good conversation. At the end of the evening I get nothing but hugs and kisses and praise. It's been nothing but joy sence I made the change...
This is the second or third time I’ve watched this. Love it more and more each time. Holiday and thank you cards go such a LONG way. When you go to someone’s home, even if you can’t afford to bring an expensive bottle of wine or champagne, bring the host a personal gift. A candle, a mug, a Starbucks gift card. something that you know they like. These acts of kindness go a long way.

This is so true about the parking. my neighbor thinks it’s ok to have her guests park in my private parking spaces that are connected to my garage (townhouse), and park in front of my house for hours...and she thinks it’s okay. She had a party around 30/40 cars, and they were all in peoples spaces so i can respect you for not inconveniencing your neighbors. Ok, let me get back to the video.
The way things were done makes perfect sense. That's called being organized. There are a lot of neighbors that couldn't care less if their guests are disturbing the other neighbors. The shuttle is an excellent idea. When you go to organized events, this is exactly how they're ran. This was an organized event. Much respect to you and your family

Thanksgiving and Christmas I would cook majority of the meal with dessert and when I tell you I get nothing but attitude and looks from immediate family!!! I would invite the them to my house for the fourth of July and I would do all the cooking and they wouldn't need to bring anything! Oh they ate up the food, damn near didn't think to leave anything for me and my son. They barley speak, acting crazy, and have so much to say about me and mines. So guess what, now I make my 6 or 7 pecan pies, pack my son and I clothes and go to Thomasville, Ga and spend almost all the holidays with my grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. And we have a ball!!! So i know exactly what that kind of treatment is all about. I have learned to go where I am appreciated. Glad to know my mentality ain't wrong. God bless😁😁

Brought me to tears, that’s a shame how family do you. I lost my son 5 years ago and holidays are never the same anymore. I would give anything to enjoy a meal with my entire family. I can so relate to your experience. Now I help the homeless with my resources. Family was not only ungrateful. but would verbally attack me and talk about me. I became wiser. Still love people but I expend my strength on homeless children and others who need and appreciate the help. No guilt feelings about it either.once I made up my mind to go in another direction, I was freed even from bad feelings of hurt and resentment against my family. Free to love everybody now.

I feel you, it's not just your family. I'm 65 years blessed and I have seen this very video you're describing in my family..And we had the finest of blueprints to model after in our Grandparents and parents. But except for a few the rest are ungrateful snout nose kids and back stabbings adults...So I've been thinking for years like you to take my only child, my adult daughter, whom like your Beautiful daughter has been by my side in the kitchen for years helping my mom, me, and her aunties and great aunties,buy and shop for then prepare the meals and clean up after them and in some "cases" pick people up and drop them off !! Well, it's all like you said and more in your videos the 90 years blessed are the Genration of appreciation💝 yours and mine and our daughters generations have glimmers of appreciation sprinkled in like the sprinkle on a cake. It's so rare to see that "they" make a parent proud to see that there is a bit of the Old School Generation there.. But fast forward in your video and get back to today. I understand the feeling completely. I was so tired of be criticized about everything from food to decor. Who in the hell cares if there's no sprinkles on the sugar cookies, "WHAT"! They can't make a contribution to the dinner but they buy new & bigger plastic containers to pack to go meals ( not plates but meals ). Or they'll bring a six pack of soda and 5 kids 2 friends, 3 co workers, plus their in laws now you talking about being pissed....
So I stopped doing Christmas dinner for family. Now I have a pre Christmas dinner for my mother and all of her siblings. They all love the food, enjoy the decorations, and everyone is leaving by 3 - 4 p.m.
My mother and her siblings range from 62 - 80 in age so they all bring a plus one ( no young children ). It's been beautiful. They appreciate the opportunity to get together to laugh and talk with each other at this time of year. No kids running in house, no fussing, no complaining. Just good times and good conversation. At the end of the evening I get nothing but hugs and kisses and praise.

This is the second or third time I’ve watched this. Love it more and more each time. Holiday and thank you cards go such a LONG way. When you go to someone’s home, even if you can’t afford to bring an expensive bottle of wine or champagne, bring the host a personal gift. A candle, a mug, a Starbucks gift card. something that you know they like. These acts of kindness go a long way.

This is so true about the parking. my neighbor thinks it’s ok to have her guests park in my private parking spaces that are connected to my garage (townhouse), and park in front of my house for hours...and she thinks it’s okay. She had a party around 30/40 cars, and they were all in peoples spaces so i can respect you for not inconveniencing your neighbors. Ok, let me get back to the video.
