@@veganista_life I have heard Simionato, Obraszova, and, in this role, Cossotto live on the stage of either the Lyric of Chicago or the Met and this singer matches any of them.
She is very good, and super gifted. Some people who were complaining 2 years ago that she was not using her chest voice enough in Amneris should be happy here. But they complain about too much chest now,or a gap between the 2 registers. Or they would like to hear a mezzo-baritone. Come on...She is a young dramatic voice, and this role is very dangerous. She is very self conscient of what she does. Trust her.

This is not “ugly singing”. Those commenters are just wannabe singers or voice teachers who are butt hurt. They ain’t shit and they have no clue about what they’re talking about. Plus, you can never make an assumption via a recording, that just shows their lack of knowledge in the field of voice. Ms Rachvelishvili is a force of nature, it is unbelievable that someone that young has a voice that is that huge.
How about how committed she is to the role she is singing? You can nit-pick a singer's work and miss the bigger picture. It must be sad to live your life so critical of an art form you claim to love.
