Respect for the agnostic brother. He understood Muhammad Ali's belief is Sunni. Yes he is a Sunni. The Shias have their argument. Sunnis rejects the Prophet appointing Ali as the caliph after him. How do Sunnis say they follow the Prophet?
Muhammad literally said Islam was going to be broken into 72 sects and only 1 of the would go to Jannah whilst the others would be condemned to hell. The sunni shia is way too political with power hungry people causing division trying to be in control and it is a very childish way of acting. Instead just follow what the Quran and Prophet say, not aligning yourself with any other humans and people.
Brother I love and respect the knowledge you have , but you say that if God almighty named you something you have to follow that. What if God almighty named a successor after the final prophet (P.B.U.H) will you follow that or man made successor? By the way it looks like these man made successors had more understanding in choosing a successor than the man who brought the religion.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever abuses my companions, upon them is the curse of Allāh, the angels and all the people” Shaykh al-Albani declared this hadeeth as hasan in as-Saheehah (n. 2340), and there are other ahadeeth like it. I ask you then, which scholar preceded you in saying that you cannot call yourself Sunni? Or is this something you have made up yourself.
