Hot Shops, located in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, is known as a 'living museum' of everything art and creativity. It houses over 70 artists across 3 stories in a renovated brick mattress factory.
Other art mediums you can find inside include: watercolors, oils, acrylics, fiber art, photography, pastels, jewelry, printmaking, stained glass, fused glass, metal and wood sculpture, furniture restoration, lamp working, ceramics, mixed media and SO. MUCH. MORE!
Visitors and guests can wander around the galleries freely, stop in and say hi to artists working in their studios with the doors open, and take part in a handful of hot and fiery experiences.
Jordan surprised Zhangwei with a "date day" experience of glassblowing, something that's a first for both of them.
After an amusing time exploring all the artwork, they chose their glass colors and made the infamous PAPERWEIGHT - something so important yet so simple that it's often overlooked and forgotten about. But this object alone could help save the world! 😋
The finished paperweight objects came out beautifully - Zhangwei's and his twirling bubbles, and Jordan with her yin-yang style swirl.
