Greed! At the moment property values are outrageous! It's sad that so many tracks are getting bought up to just develop into like an Amazon warehouse or similar.... once there gone there gone.
Usually, all the terrain has been compacted and improved for drainage. They have access to major roads, and also include large areas of additional land, like the sand trap and dumping grounds at the end of the track. Case in point Green Valley Raceway, th-cam.com/video/tsH_Hdpiiiw/w-d-xo.html It's a subdivision of houses now.
Thanks for bringing up the issue of tracks getting bought out. They were built when land was cheap and plentiful. Now, with urban growth, they've become valuable acreage to developers. Hopefully they don't follow the path of drive-in theaters. The best way to fight is to go watch more races!
Very thankful for the street outlaws shows. Without them bringing everyone back into drag racing the past 8 or 9 years more tracks would have already closed/sold. Drag racing was dead until the show renewed an brought new interest/people to it again! Great job guys. Make racing great again
It was a pleasure to meet you and Asian. My brother and I were just talking about this. I think they wanted to build houses. Big ass houses that the average person can't afford. #streetoutlaws
TY for sharing! Alot of the newer generations fail to realize that our service members that was able to make it home are the ones that started alot of these tracks. It was a place to let off some steam and have fun!
My sister's father-in-law Richard Ruth built the 55 in 2 lane black top and also Harrison Ford's 55 in American Graffiti. Love you guys you make me laugh so hard it makes my day!!! Keep up the laughs and hard work.
Thank you guys for posting this episode. People should realise importance of those historical tracks and save them before its too late. You guys should make " Save and Support Local Tracks " T-shirt !.
Very cool of you all to highlight the track and ongoing legal crap, show case a car or two, talking to the participants like Dominator It could make a person's day even better. 🤙🏻
You two guys were awesome I’m the guy that gave you the meter and tape to fix the bus. Hopefully we get to meet up again next year have fun the rest of the season
I'm from Mass. and enjoyed your shows and antics!! Please keep it up. And thanks for the tour of the entire the track. I went to several events in the early 70's and to see it now it's amazing how much it has grown and improved through the years. Again thanks for the tour!!
Farmtruck and AZN, and your sponsors, are the greatest for helping out a couple of fellow gearheads like that. In a few months we will be relocating to OK, hope to meet you guys.
This is a REALLY Great to see you guys there , and be at the 1 and only race track I Grew up at, my first love and passion for drag racing ,And really was one of The bigger influences on how my life was for over 25 years now ...And Feels good to know they are fighting to keep this place for everyone to enjoy 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 Thanks Guy's! JOE
I had a blast at new England drag way meet all you guys it was awesome I didn't get to meet everyone unfortunately but hopefully you guys will come back next year
remember seeing 2 lane blacktop , mostly remember the ending , just fading to black halfway intoo a race remember another movie with a yellow trifive called return to macon county with Nick Nolte, Don Johnson, Robin Mattson and Robert Viharo.
I ran here in 68 in A stock cameo. this was my tract to run or visit. Met and talked to Don Garlis , crewed with early racers, best in my life to be at. My son slept in the pits while fuelers ran. family times.
Cool show today guys, you still on Cape cod Massachusetts. My boss Teddy Parker use to run a d dragster. It had a 6 cylinder in it Chevrolet and his best time was 190 mi at 9.9 out of that 6 cylinder front engine dragster. Used to go there in the 70s every Sunday. Brings back old memories.
Things would help if more events made themselves available to the track. New England Dragway hosted the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion a couple of times and it was a great success. Unfortunately they haven't had it since and it would be nice if the Left Coast powers to be would step up. The fact that the track has survived this long compared to so many other tracks should be rewarded!
The land the track is on wasn't flat. The hill where the RV's were parked was taken down and used as fill going towards the starting line to level the track.
If you watch old videos of New England Dragway. The transformation from when it opened, to today took decades. A little bit at a time. If you can find them, the "smoke" serious of DVD's are a good history lesson.
Yall up here in my neck of the woods and I didn't know it till I saw your video!!!! I have to upgrade my bike before they will let me run it there again, because it ran a sub 10 sec pass. Whoops. 🤣😂🤣 and yeah we got the coolest 1/4 mile track in the country up here!!
2 lane blacktop is a badass movie I watched it as a kid and it made me fall in love with the 55 chevy because I loved the 57 chevy but once I saw the movie with that 55 it's been my favorite and still is my favorite of the tri 5's
Yep NHRA SAID THEY SOLD COMMERCE IN GEORGIA TO SPREAD MORE MONEY AROUND OTHER TRACKS!! I CALL BS SO THEY CAN BE GREEDY FOR UPFRONT MONEY!! THE TRACK WILL BE TURNED INTO SUBDIVISION AND STRIP MALL!! WHAT A WASTE FOR CORPORATE GREED!!!
The hostile buyout seems to be a technique commonly used now in business. It is sad. Tough to see Phoenix, Houston, and Palm Beach all closing. I'm wondering if our sport is dying or if it is being exterminated. It will push racers to the street.
Very thankful for the street outlaws shows. Without them bringing everyone back into drag racing the past 8 or 9 years more tracks would have already closed/sold. Drag racing was dead until the show renewed an brought new interest/people to it again! Great job guys. Make racing great again
Attitude and vibes are usually amazing in New Hampshire I friggin love it wicked pissah place lol. When you live in the city Boston that's the place most go to getaway.
Our little track isn't full of suites, or other nonsense like big tracks, like Charlotte or Vegas. Its an old-school drag strip. But it does pretty well. Granted the pit area could be bigger. Its nice to have original share holders that care. Plus a national voice, Brian Lohnes the lead NHRA broadcaster on Fox sports, who grew up there. And I didn't know FT lived in Dorchester for some time.
@near sighted time traveler first I have to say I'm not a big track guy only been a few times in my life.. and trust me I'm older than you think but I'm all Street. And second 100 to 3000 that's pretty good odds if you all stand together. Know you're rights and stand up to them. because they work for us..remember that.
I'm not a huge drag racing fan I like formula One a better. However seeing an old track strip is something special. I work at the railroad and one of the yards was built on the old Lyons drag strip in Long Beach in 1983. David Freiburger shows a lot of old former drag strips in his show too. It's sad to see these drag strips go and become another Warehouse or houses. We had drag strips all over Southern California at one time.
It sucks that there are big iconic tracks being bought up to be torn out so homes can be built there and then you get the people that go and buy a home right beside a track and then complain about the noise and traffic when the damn track was there long before you bought a home there but they do it just to put a target on places like that and that's what upset's me the most.
My home track is baytown just east of houston and its already been bought. The son of the man that built it doesnt wanna mess with it anymore so he sold it to a big warehouse company. Its still operational right now but its gonna shut down the end of this year or the beginning of next year. My issue with it all ks all the local racers will have to drive up tp 150 miles to race now . So its either drive that far or race on the street and we all know if you race on the street there is alot at stake. No matter how good of a driver you are you or a by passing car makes one wrong move it could get somebody injured or killed. Its a damn shame guys. God bless all the drag racers. Keep fighting the fight . Theres alot of us that still race and were fighting to save it all too
I watch a twitch streamer Ticklefitz that streams from that track and HMP and every now and then Evadale. It sucks that HRP got sold yet the family got $65-67 million. That is a good chunk of change. Luckily it will be open for a few more years yet no more NHRA stuff there sadly. I have watch Flaco kick a lot of other racers asses at HRP. Although the past two Tx2k's were one or two races then oil down or wreck then hour and half later rinse and repeat.
Hey Farmtruck... Thanks for the tip on Tulane blacktop. Been meaning to watch it but kept forgetting the name of it. Awesome movie. Now I took the time to look it up and watch it but I got one for you that I promise you will like even more. I'm not into wasting time, trust me. There are two movies with this name so don't confuse them. This one is made in 1979, the other one is made in the 50s and it's black and white. It's about a guy traveling with his Willies to race at Nationals in the '70s. Trust me it's the best car lover movie you'll ever find. We found it at a yard sale on a VHS tape about 20 years ago. We bought it because of the old Willies on the cover and it ended up being our favorite movie. Please take the time I don't make nothing off of this. Let me know. It's called Hot Rod. I can only find it here on TH-cam and it's called "Hot rod 1979 movie". Here is a link. th-cam.com/video/b0l2WEW2mlo/w-d-xo.html
Oh yeah, I wanted to tell you I'm now a subscriber. I saw a video of the farm truck racing years ago, and never forgot it. I saw another video with that truck and it linked to your page. I love the channel. I've been a fan of your truck for years and now I am a fan of you and the channel. I used to run sleepers. Had a 67 New Yorker that weighed 5500 lb and used to beat everything on the streets in my hometown. Love it brother. Keep up the good work.
Oval track 45min north went the way of the dinosaurs. Bought by a Massachusetts developer to make warehouses. I’m sure that would be the result there in Epping if they would have sold it.
The electric bikes look like they're doing what you hoped they would. Are you happy with performance; range and speed? How about recharge time? Is it reasonable?

Why do ya'll think all these tracks are getting bought out????!!!
It's absolutely ridiculous.
The Question is Who is buying them? CCP affiliates?
@@wsc448 We know Amazon has bought a few!
Greed! At the moment property values are outrageous! It's sad that so many tracks are getting bought up to just develop into like an Amazon warehouse or similar.... once there gone there gone.

The reason I Love these guys is because they are like regular people and see beauty in where others see trash. They don't judge on appearance.
Thanks for bringing up the issue of tracks getting bought out. They were built when land was cheap and plentiful. Now, with urban growth, they've become valuable acreage to developers. Hopefully they don't follow the path of drive-in theaters. The best way to fight is to go watch more races!
Awesome video guys! To take the time to interview everyone working behind the scenes is great!
As soon as the 55 came into the scene I said heck yeah! One of my favorites, watched it more times than I can count😀

A pretty cool view of a piece of racing history. So many of the tracks go away and all that’s left are memories.
My sister's father-in-law Richard Ruth built the 55 in 2 lane black top and also Harrison Ford's 55 in American Graffiti. Love you guys you make me laugh so hard it makes my day!!! Keep up the laughs and hard work.
You guys are like kids in a candy shop at every track you go to. LIVIN THE DREAM 🤙🏽
As a fellow New Englandah;
This was pure gold..🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
Salute, Gentlemen🍻🍻

Awesome story about the track. We lost the Atlanta dragway a few years ago to " investors ".
I like how you guys talk with the owners and give us a back story of these tracks! Great content.
Great show guys thanks the drag strip up here Northern Indiana just got closed this last year it's kind of sad

Roughly 50 miles so for what they do will work for a day then recharge them.

Come on farmtruck he also has a milner racing team American Graffiti, Milner was the hot rod dude in a yellow 55 l believe
It was a yellow 32 ford,Harrison Ford drove the 55 chevy in the movie.

The two lane black top car actually had a 427 in it.
The land developers are the worst enemy of the automotive race tracks. After them are the people and buisnesses that move in around them.
You two need to buy your own dragway. Everyone would go there. They could practice for the list. Hopefully. Give it some thought.
