@2:05 The trailside series of sculptures is intended to be viewed in-line. That is, stand at the end, and look through all of them in series (as if looking through a gunsight). I won't ruin the surprise by stating here what image will be revealed.
Well in 2016 I did galax to dora junction and back in less than 12 hours ! And still had a blast. I dedicated this ride to my friend who passed in 2012. I think we first rode it in 2008 or 2009 ! We did 96 miles that time
Just subscribed. Fine video but please work in your fire starting. I want to bike pack this trail. I live in White Stone, VA. Happy adventures to you both.
I can only speak to that one restaurant that we stopped at in galax. There aren’t many restaurants right at the trailhead in Pulaski and you may have to bike a little farther into town from the trailhead if you are starting in galax and going towards Pulaski. It gets a little remote in some spots in the middle.
Hi, is that trail mainly hard packed gravel / dirt? Planning on riding it soon in November. Any really loose ground or difficult terrain? Thanks! Great video!!!!
Yes mainly hardpacked gravel. Some spots where there was mud from recent rains. It’s not too loose and very few spots where it was deep gravel. Pretty comfortable overall
Thanks for watching! Make sure to subscribe and like the video.

Your ride is on my bucket list!

Norfolk Southern is the merging of Norfolk and Western, and Southern railways in 1982.
What a neat trip. Nice video
Thanks for watching!
Sweet stretch of the 165 mile trail.

Cool adventure. I just did a small section of trail this week. Going back for more. Question, how did you do the map animation? Thanks.

I suggest you adjust your seats so one can extend at the knee better.
The bars over the cave are to keep people out and allow bats to go in.
Southern Railroad bought N&W and became Norfolk Southern. Late 80’s, early 90s.
what sort of grade is along the trail?

Bring jar of Vaseline and cotton balls with you. It's great firestarter.😂
Want to do this with the wife and kids 9&12 in the spring as their first bike packing experience.
Awesome! It’s a great first experience. Not too steep or aggressive.
It's PULL LASS SKEEE lol
Thinking about doing this in mid April for my brothers first bike tour. Any restaurants or cool places you'd recommend in Pulaski?

Which campground did you camp at? Double shoals?
That's correct. There is a big campground where a few tents can go, but a few of the spots are small and private.
@@oneilladventures6840 About to do this same route. Did you need to make reservations for the camping spot?
First come first serve as I understand it. It was a pretty nasty weekend for weather so it was empty when we went. Hope you enjoy it!
@@oneilladventures6840 it was great. And I was the only one camping there that night.
That’s great! It’s very peaceful out by the water. Glad you had a good time.
Here for the trail not to watch you chew your meat snack
