I used to do drags in my younger days. Please hear me out. It will help you for sure.
1. U need torque in the begining not power. Power will give you top speed not turning effect. Every bike delivers max torque at certain rpm. It's not in the redline but close to it. U will find in the bike manual (if they still provide nowadays. Seacrh internet if that's the case). At the time of reving keep needle tad more than that value so that at the time of launching when bike encounters all types of resistence, the bike needle don't fall below that value and engine will be in the range of delivering max torque. Engage the bike in the gear first.
2. Now as the bike is already in gear press the front brake very gently with the middle and first finger and release the clutch about 20-25%. Please be assured that u don't do this in normal riding. Never.
3. Now u have three things. Accelerator twisted already in max torque range, 20-25% released clutch and and pressed front brake. Mentain coordination betwwen the three. Pressing the brake with optimum intensity and releasing of clutch with it is of vital imortance.
4. Stoop your body on the tank. This is imp as it will neutralize wheelie effect.
Post launching try clutchless shifting. Put bike at speed and when u r shifting try touching the gear shifter so that at the time of shifting lower the accelerater and in that very instant pull the gear up and take the throttle once again. This whole process should be completed within a half second.
So practice it in safe environment . Hone your skill over time. Welcome to racing.
