I plan on never going to Vegas ever, it sounds like the closest version of my own personal hell on earth possible, and yet I still watched every minute of this video attentively, taking mental notes. Not sure why but good job.
I've had family here for decades and we've always avoided the city center unless there was a good buffet deal. All the good buffets have disappeared over the past few years, so I've stayed away completely.
Congrats on the baby Shaq!! Feel like I’ve followed you around since vine and every life development you make, the parasocial relationship I’ve created with you makes me excited.
Can't believe the Big man is a dad. I've been watching you since highschool, thank you for the lessons you've taught me. Can't imagine what you're going to teach to the little one.

Extremely well done and comprehensive, thanks for all the effort you put in!!
My girlfriend and I haven't traveled in years and have a trip to Vegas coming up in 3 weeks. We've been so stressed trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. This could not have come at a better time for us. Thank you so much for this and everything you put out. This was such a happy coincidence for us.
Explain how internet Shaq who is not a vegas TH-camr just put out a better, more informative and concise vegas video than any other "vegas youtuber" 😂 well done, chef 👏🏼
As someone with addictive tendencies, time blindness, and poor money sense, gambling (and probably by extension Vegas, since it is the lion's den of that particular form of manipulation) is a not-even-once kind of situation for me. Like smoking, it seems like a very easy way to risk ruining your life. If I need that flavor of excitement I'll stop wearing my seat belt in the car. That said, I enjoyed this guide a great deal and learned a lot about traveling in general. Once again, netshaq has produced content with an extreme emphasis on practicality that I have thoroughly enjoyed despite having little to no practical use for it.
My pro tip is if you're not from the Southwest it may be worth renting a car one day and driving out to see some nature, especially mid trip for a break from the lights and drinking. Really enjoyed visiting Red Rock Canyon on my trip
Let me tell you about the whiplash I felt after just instinctively clicking on a new shaq video, watching about 10 minutes and thinking "hmm this video is actually pretty long!", and then pausing only to see the full video was about AN HOUR lmao
to be honest the local bit about the people not going to eat on the strip really resonated. As someone who lived in NOLA for a few years whenever anyone asked me where to eat in the french quarter I genuinely didnt have any recommendations because there's a lot of great food outside the quarter at like 3/4 the price and probably half the health violations, so real shit mr shaq. (also great vid ily parasocial papi)
I am glad you did mention Area 15 and OmegaMart which are probably my favorite experiences to be found in Vegas. Personally for me I would also love to add on top of those the underrated museums of the area. The Atomic Museum and the Mob Museum are fantastic places to visit. The Pinball Hall of Fame is also really fun. And if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle the Springs Reserve/Nevada State Museum and of course Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead, etc. There is a lot to do out there that isn't based around drinking, eating, gambling, showboating, or uh...fornicating lol
This video was so detailed and I especially loved the points about not skipping the trial/exploration phase of traveling! That being said, the absolute highlight of my most recent Vegas trip (also in February, best time to go hell yeah) was accidentally finding The Barbershop at The Cosmo and walking in to a full blown concert. After a weekend of drinking and partying like crazy, we were all too tired/hungover to drink or club anymore. This was the perfect cap to our weekend and I’ll recommend it for as long as the venue continues to exist!
Wow...the opening of this video is me ! I basically hate travel too and yet I LOVE going to Las Vegas. I don't know why but it's different than any other place I've been. I've been on vacation there more times than anywhere else I've been. I keep going back for some reason. Even though it seems like a high energy place, it can have a very relaxed vibe. There's lots of opportunities to do things, and everything's in easy access, but there's no pressure to really DO anything. I also love Red Rocks too, and the contrast between the city and the wild desert, and the fact that the city ends so abruptly and the rural desert is right there. I could go on and on. The only thing that sucks about Vegas is that it's an ecological disaster. But otherwise I love it.
Vegas is for synthesized relaxation. I can't imagine how you prefer such a fake, forced experience over the joy of travel that brings unique experiences and stories.
I love Vegas too, it is always changing and there's something for pretty much everyone. I've grown to love it for family trips but about to go with just a ladies trip soon, really let loose! Do have a favorite pool? I'm looking at Encore Beach Club, for the music
Hey, just wanted to say shoutouts for advising people not to gamble. It nearly destroyed my sister's life - you couldn't catch her drinking more than a single PBR, but for a time she had to have her cards confiscated and her money controlled by our grandparents as part of recovery on top of regular GA meetings and therapy. Rendered unable to pay her bills, insurance, car, had to move in with family to overcome the debt. Of all the addictions you could have, gambling is the snake that eats its own head because when you win once (she was the youngest person to win the jackpot at a regional casino) you think you can win again (she never won like that again). It would have been really easy to make a video about "the best casinos in Vegas" so thanks for bucking the trend. And hey, if you reading this comment have a loved one dealing with gambling addiction, or if you are in the middle of it, I see you and there's another side. "The best things in life are free" - The Ink Spots
One thing he didn't cover in gambling: Poker. You can play for an extremely long time and break even and the social scene at tables are typically very fun. I've spent 3-6 hours at tables chatting with the same people and no matter the outcome it was already very fun.
We are in Vegas right now after using this video as our planning guide, and I just have to say that this is an awesome guide. The dinner at Best Friend was seriously amazing to boot!
I'm not sure I'll ever go to Vegas any time soon but just listening to Shaq go so in-depth on a guide to a fun trip is wonderful to watch. Would love to see more of these on different countries.
alright I'm a 25 yr old man and longtime Net Shaqolyte and I've been thinking about going to Vegas after seeing Safiya Nygaard's videos about LV earlier this year. this is incredible timing and information and another reason why Net Shaq is the GOAT
My coworkers are all going to Vegas and I kinda regret not going. Used to not think it’d be my thing but I think it sounds like a good place to let loose and embrace consumerism for a little bit. Hopefully next year!!
This is such a brilliant way of making an excellent vacation guide while also making your vacation a tax write off. I see what you're doing Shaq and I love it
20 Vegas trips under my belt from Canada. The last 14 coming in the last 12 months. Jesus Christ this whole video from start to finish was 100% accurate! Great video man!
This video speaks to me. I'm from LA and manged to stay away from Las Vegas for the first 26 years of my life. I only started going there when work mandated it. I've been there 5 times in the last 5 years and, like Shaquille, i'm starting to find the parts of Vegas that speak to me. However, I hate crowded places and waiting for food so I spend most of my time in the golf courses.
This is an amazing travel guide, because it has covered two things I want covered in a travel guide. How to travel somewhere, and if I even want to. I now know how exactly to travel to las Vegas, and the knowledge that its simply not for me. Thanks!
I wish this video came out sooner. This may be some of your best work. You truly understand the joy of Vegas from Fear and Loathing to Leaving Las Vegas.
Man I went to Vegas a couple months after you posted this and yet I am only now seeing it. Watching this video was like playing Vegas bingo to see how many places I went to on your list. The one that got me most excited to see was Nacho Daddy! They had no right being so delicious the morning me and my family went there for breakfast, they were not busy at all, and all of the staff was so freaking nice.
Best guide, I've been to Vegas so many times and a lot of these things are true. I will definitely be sending this to whoever is going for the first time
How good is this video. I dont care about Las Vegas, and never plan to go there, but this video was still super interesting and fun to watch. Why are you so good
Hooray! This was incredible! I also love seeing Travel Ruby featured in here. I’ve been watching her a lot and her Vegas content is delightful and informative.
I lived in Vegas for four months while doing a show and this video was absolutely spot on. Was nice to see places I enjoyed get mentioned (shout out Esther’s, Golden Tiki and Ellis Island) but I also learned heaps. Genuinely helpful, never preachy or judgemental… you rock dude, congrats on the pregnancy.
I've always loved that Vegas is an insider's city. If you know what you're doing, you'll never get tired of visiting! It's a uniquely American city with contagious, exhilarating energy. Great video Shaq!
I ate at Lotus of Siam about 13 years ago on my first trip to Vegas. Totally forgot about how good that place was. Thanks for unlocking that memory for me!
I have to go to Vegas for a work conference every year, and I don't gamble- both on principle and due to an understanding of the odds/the cost per minute. Here's my hack if you need to "kill time" on the strip and don't want to break the bank: On the south end of the strip is the Pinball Hall of Fame with, like, over 100 pinball tables from the history of the game all the way to modern tables. Games cost anywhere from 25c to a dollar to play, and all are games of skill. A $20 bill can last me 90 minutes+, and the deciding factor is how good you are at any given game. It has the flash and showmanship of slots, but with genuine challenge, design, and skill. You won't win anything, but you're paying for some of the cheapest entertainment on the strip, and the entertainment only gets CHEAPER the better you get at the games. The thrill of getting a high score on any of the score tables is a great rush. On top of that it's an incredible tour through history.
One of the better videos you've made recently. Super entertaining, I've watched the whole video in one sitting, your energy does help me focus on these longer formats.
Amazing content. I’ve been watching Vegas videos on a binge since going in March and this is one of the best I’ve seen. I love your pacing and humor. Thanks for making it
The "how to gamble segment" of this video was incredibly useful for me (I watch you for the food). I'd watch an hour long video on just gambling cause you explain it very well.
Vegas is so amazing. It changes people, man. A Dad or Mom of two who goes to bed by 10 pm on a normal Saturday can find it in themselves to be out until 5 am and then wake up for a day party at 11 am, and be ready to roll. Magic.
Why do i like wayching your videos so much?! I have no intent of going back to vegas but found this very entertaining You seem to have a very particular cadence that is just pleasant to listen to
Nice guide. I'm going to Vegas for a con in the summer so I might use some of this advice for the additional days I'm taking. Also, Congrats on the baby. I'm positive it'll be the most exciting time and the hardest time in your life.
This is such a great video dude! I've only ever stayed at the Golden Nugget, but I think we might try the strip next time. Glad to see the Vegan shout outs! It's a little out in the boonies but Chef Kenny's is amazing for vegan dim sum. The Peppermill! Oh man, whenever I played Vegas we would stop there on the way out. So gnarly but a great send off haha. Edibles and the Beatles Circe de soleil was fun (and I'm not even a big beatles fan). Omega Mart is great! I haven't gambled beyond a few slot machines since I lost $100 in less than 2 minutes playing go fish by the bathrooms at the paris hotel. Very humbling. Anyway, sorry for the live blog comment, dug the video!
Congrats on the baby! I went to Vegas for the first time in February 2022. I went with my parents, and it was President's Day weekend, so Vegas was pretty crowded. We booked the stay through Costco Travel. The package consisted of the room (resort fees not included), the flight, and a rental car. The package cost was the same whether we wanted a rental car or not, so we decided to get a car. After landing, we had to wait on a line to take the bus shuttle to the airport rental car facility. The bus wait line was a tad long, but nothing compared with the bus wait line after we returned the rental car. Once at the rental facility, the check in process was relatively easy. After getting the car, my first trip was to the nearby Walmart. The checklist here was simple: 1. A phone mount for GPS, a must if I'm driving in a strange city. Also, I intended to go a nearby state or national park (more on that below) 2. Several gallons of drinking water. My brother had warned me that Vegas tap water was terrible, and he was right (even when filtered). We brought reusable bottles to fill with this water. 3. Snacks Also, the Walmart's liquor section was just ridiculous. It was a whole section of liquor, beer, and wine. The room was at the Signature at MGM, which is about a 5-10 minute walk east of the PH Miracle Mile shops, and the stay included complimentary valet parking. We checked in at Tower 1, but had to walk a long way to Tower 3 where our room was. Valet parking was straightforward, but needing to tip the valet every time we returned or needed our car got annoying. In addition, Tower 3 was the least crowded of the towers, so its valet station was only open for certain hours. Fortunately on the 2nd night, the valet lot became full. So they asked us to park at the Signature's parking garage across the street instead. It turns out the parking garage was only a 5 minute walk from the main entrance & Tower 3. So henceforth, we always parked at the garage and saved on valet tips. If you have a car, the dining options are considerably more budget-friendly and probably better outside the strip. Over 4 days, we ate outside the strip about 4 times. Besides Lotus of Siam (great rec), we also loved Monzu, a mid-tier Italian eatery & bakery that makes bread using a centuries-old sourdough starter. Monzu's antipasti platter is just insane. We got the "small" for 5 people, and we still ended up taking almost half of it home. In addition, with a rental car, you aren't locked into just going to places on the Strip or ubering to places within Vegas city proper. Since I'm from the East Coast, I wanted to see all the red rock landscapes like the ones in the Roadrunner & Coyote cartoons. The Grand Canyon was a full day's trip, so I postponed visiting it to another trip. We ended up going to Valley of Fire state park, which was just gorgeous. The weather certainly helped: it was crystal clear blue skies that day, and then windy dust storms just a couple of days later. The rest of my time at Vegas was spent just walking around the strip, getting to know the lay of a place I've never been to. I went all the way South to the Mirage one day, then all the way north to the Wynn the next day. The Signature is in a pretty good central location. My parents and I took coffee breaks when we got tired, and ate when we needed to. My gambling budget was for poker only. I was only interested in entering a tournament. Poker rooms are basically casino operator's shame, even though poker was immensely popular about 15-20 years ago. The casinos make no money on poker compared with the other games, so the rooms are shoved somewhere far, far away within the gaming floor. And when you do fine one, you'll find that the poker rooms are so small (compared with the rest of the casino floor), the active tables are usually crowded with long wait times. On the plus side, it is far easier to find a poker room in any Vegas casino than it is to find one at an Atlantic City or Macau casino. I ended up spending $150+$50 at a poker tournament at Caeser's Palace. I ended up busting out in 3 hrs, so it was money well spent for the time. I was thirsty during the middle of the tourney, so I ended up buying a $5 bottle of water from the bar. That bottle of water was the worst ripoff I felt during the whole trip. Finally, the one place I wanted to try was Eggslut at the Cosmopolitan. The main line stretched into one of those back corridors. Then there was another line across the restaurant that was a carryover from the main line. I didn't come to Vegas to wait in line for hyped-up food, so Eggslut would have to wait.
Feeding the algorithm gods. Bless you Shaq. I have no desire to go back to Vegas since I want to explore more outside America Canada and Mexico- but I still watched this whole video. Bless you
I am a Vegas Vetean. My trip in October 2020 was 10 nights. This time at the end of July I will be here for 8 nights. I enjoy the weekends and weekdays. I will be staying at Westgate,Flamingo,Patk MGM and Four Queens.
I just ate at Best Friend and I couldn’t agree more, it’s such a great spot. It’s the perfect blend of reasonable solid Korean BBQ and Vegas excess. And if you want excess, try the uni fried rice and thank me later.
45:17 I feel like it actually IS worse to pick 1 2 3 4 5 6 though, it wouldn't have different odds, obviously, but it feels so obvious that if you do actually win, you'd need to split it with more people
My wife and I were going to do an anniversary trip to Vegas just before the pandemic hit and haven't thought much about it, but this video was such a joy. IShaq once again thank you for a meaty video full of valuable honest information (and kudos to how you addressing gambling.) Can't wait to visit and use some of this info! Mazel tov on the baby!
a "weaselly little liar" you say... hmm great video Shaq! pound for pound you are easily one of the best people doing things on this platform, always appreciate the things I learn from you, thanks.
i don't live in america and i don't think I'l ever go to vegas but i syill watched this whole video in one go I could listen to you talking about anything for any amount of time 10/10 vid
24:50 as someone who's only experience of US was a conference in LV, I don't regret going to in-n-out burger. It was a highlight amongst the mediocrity of overpriced food I've eaten in Vegas.
fuckin hell - I just just watched an HOUR of this dude share kinda specific, time-relevant tips on Vegas, a place I doubt I'll visit this decade... and I guess I'm grateful. Time well spent hell yeah

I will definitely be sending this to whoever is going for the first time
I hope you make more longer form vidoes like this, I've always respected your opinion and seeing more of you is absolutely fantistic.
Somehow a hour long Shaq video is still as short, concise and packed with information as a five minute video. Congratulations Papi 💕
How good is this video. I dont care about Las Vegas, and never plan to go there, but this video was still super interesting and fun to watch. Why are you so good
I went into this thinking "wtf, 1hour, he's crazy, im not watching that, I'll just watch a little bit" and immediately got hooked
I just want to thank you for the term "Europea-boos". I never knew I needed this in my vernacular.
Don't forget weeaboos and wheraboos.
I've always loved that Vegas is an insider's city. If you know what you're doing, you'll never get tired of visiting! It's a uniquely American city with contagious, exhilarating energy. Great video Shaq!
i’ve genuinely never had any interest in visiting las vegas but this video is selling me. thank u mastermind travel agent internet shaquille
Congrats on the baby Shaq!!! Hope everything goes well for you and your wife!
huge congrats on the baby y'all!!! and awesome video even though i presumed i would be a hater of vegas but this might change my mind
I live in Vegas and I watched the whole thing! Great content!!!
Dude. Amazing video. I can't even begin to explain how useful the information you've presented here is.
Dude this video is almost an hour but felt like 30 mins. Straight to the point, no bullshit. Awesome stuff mate, keep it up!
I ate at Lotus of Siam about 13 years ago on my first trip to Vegas. Totally forgot about how good that place was. Thanks for unlocking that memory for me!
An hour of Shaq talking about Vegas? We're eatin good today, boys.
Looks like meat is back on the menu boys!
bro you def gotta go to fuego at the clarendon in phx downtown-- the food is so good
I have to go to Vegas for a work conference every year, and I don't gamble- both on principle and due to an understanding of the odds/the cost per minute.
Here's my hack if you need to "kill time" on the strip and don't want to break the bank:
On the south end of the strip is the Pinball Hall of Fame with, like, over 100 pinball tables from the history of the game all the way to modern tables.
I’m 13min in don’t plan on ever going to Vegas soon. So much info without feeling like I’m being talked at. Great vid
I have no intent of going back to vegas but found this very entertaining
You seem to have a very particular cadence that is just pleasant to listen to
Can't give enough praise to you for your storytelling. As someone who also lives in the valley and enjoys a trip to Vegas, this video was a treat!
As someone who literally just got back from Vegas for the first time (Wynn, loved it!) this past week, can't wait to sit down and watch this.
Our group went to watch the Beatles show this time but I sat out to shoot b roll (and have a cigar hehe)
The checklist here was simple:
1. A phone mount for GPS, a must if I'm driving in a strange city. Also, I intended to go a nearby state or national park (more on that below)
2. Several gallons of drinking water. My brother had warned me that Vegas tap water was terrible, and he was right (even when filtered). We brought reusable bottles to fill with this water.
3. Snacks
Also, the Walmart's liquor section was just ridiculous.
Bless you
This could’ve easily been a video where any one could have sounded so snobby, but the way you approached this was with such class and elegance
I love that you gave The Peppermill a shoutout. My favorite place in Vegas!
I tried ordering it and they were out of uni!!!
45:17 I feel like it actually IS worse to pick 1 2 3 4 5 6 though, it wouldn't have different odds, obviously, but it feels so obvious that if you do actually win, you'd need to split it with more people
This is literally your best video ever
Congratulations to both of you!
Congratulations on parenthood! That’s so exciting for you both. Thanks for the thorough guide!
Going to Vegas on Saturday & my friend recommended this video to me.
21:00 delivering with the hydration advice!
a "weaselly little liar" you say... hmm
great video Shaq! pound for pound you are easily one of the best people doing things on this platform, always appreciate the things I learn from you, thanks.
i don't live in america and i don't think I'l ever go to vegas but i syill watched this whole video in one go
I could listen to you talking about anything for any amount of time
10/10 vid
I have been to vegas once and don't really plan to return any time soon. Somehow I still watched the whole video, you just can't miss
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE BABY!!!
How are you so good at making videos that keep your attention the whole time. Love your work bro!
if you'd really like to learn, I did try to outline my approach: th-cam.com/video/aBUy0z5HNlY/w-d-xo.html
Ive never really wanted to go to las vegas, even and a city-lover, but you totally convinced me!
Cannot wait to watch this jawn from start to finish. Thank you Shaq 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I love the way you think and explain
24:50 as someone who's only experience of US was a conference in LV, I don't regret going to in-n-out burger. It was a highlight amongst the mediocrity of overpriced food I've eaten in Vegas.
this is a masterpiece of a video. And as a former Vegas resident, very nostalgic 🙂
I am going to Vegas in August and this is a gem that I needed, thanks g ❤
god yes an hour of content inject it straight into my brain
fuckin hell - I just just watched an HOUR of this dude share kinda specific, time-relevant tips on Vegas, a place I doubt I'll visit this decade... and I guess I'm grateful. Time well spent hell yeah
Dope video! Always appreciate hearing your collected thoughts on any subject
