The Netherlands, the country of tulips, canals, and bicycles, has taken a political turn in the most recent general elections held on November 22, 2023. We're talking about a turn with a name, surname, and distinct hairstyle: Geert Wilders.
Labeled by much of the public opinion as radical, far-right, and even having sympathies with Putin for years, Wilders has become the most voted politician in the country. He will not form a government due to a lack of support, but it is clear that he will significantly influence Dutch politics. In this video, we tell you how Wilders has pivoted his electoral promise around a major pledge: to close the doors to immigration from the Maghreb.

It feels that you did not do enough due diligence. When paying ANY person, you should make sure the worker pays the others waiting to be remunerated with equity. It's not the Moroccan or Brazilian or Dutch problem, it is a lack of supervision and control. Plus, there is no Arabic or Hebrew or Dutch expression portraying Europe in this infamous way. I am commenting because I am also a Moroccan young woman belonging to the Highly qualified scholars and workers ( I graduated from Harvard), yet actively, genuinely and honestly participating to the economy by paying high taxes, being a good citizen and respecting my neighbour. Let's not generalise an experience on an entire Moroccan diaspora.Thank you.

Everyone has been robbed . One night all the chickens from peoples gardens were stolen. We understood it was Eid.. a Muslim festival. No one is open or kind or trusting any longer. Sad really.
It seems like the whole of Europe is having to adjust to a new set of values. Where we are not allowed to be trusting or generous and kind. I feel my heart is hardened after this . I will never employ a Muslim again.

That is kind of the problem, we DID invite them at some point because government figured that Dutch residents were overqualified for certain jobs. We didn't actually have jobs for the overqualified people though, so they felt they needed to extend benefits, essentially reward unemployment. Present situation for many is that if they take a full time job they will in fact have less money to spend than when staying unemployed, so for the last decade the lingo has been that we need the immigrants to do the jobs that residents don't fill. I believe that should ring a bell in UK.

There has been governments that were disbanded before their term because of this.
If a politician like Wilders gets elected it is a clear signal that the country is worried about immigration. If the other parties are not willing to consider the issue, they are not listening to a significant part of the population.

Democracy or not, there are big problems in Europe with immigration. And there are really big problems with politicians being unable to understand the problem and/or having a concrete plan to solve it.
I come from Italy, and my country is a heaven for immigrants, especially African and gypsies. Immigration has been a problem since more than 20 years, with episodes of violence and theft in daylight; it started in the large cities, now it has spread to the smallest towns in the countryside. My family has been targeted by burglars 3 times. And I've seen countless times people getting robbed in the streets.
There has always been a few parties that tried to propose heavy measures against immigration; they never had success because of the same competitions in the parliament. And so the problems keep getting worse and worse.

Oh no you still cant write about it here. Just a few years ago a tenured professor at the university of amsterdam was blacklisted and barred entry to the uni (they couldnt fire him because he had tenure, but oh they tried) because he wrote a report that calculated importing people from certain regions of the world was a massive drain on the government coffers and the economy in general, to the tune of half a million euro per person from those areas over their lifetime. Adding up to about ten or twenty billion euros per year in the past 20 years and growing.
This report was quickly buried after a few days of being discussed in the media and never brought up again.

The rise in popularity of Wilders has almost nothing to do with the rise of the Mocro Maffia. It has everything to do with the attitude of the late Dutch government, who provided priority housing for status holders while being in a huge housing crisis, a concern for every growing costs of welfare programs when 83% (by far the highest rate in the EU) of new asylum seekers are accepted in the welfare state and simply a lack of public space in one of the most densely populated countries in Europe.
