    I like they utilize trains as implements to maintain their tracks.

      There are two groups of workers: one that wants to do everything by train, and another that is into high production and wants to do the job the quickest way. Needless to say the group that does it by train is having fun, and the other group is working too hard.

      @@twatson703 I am worried about there is a conflict between people enjoy their work and ones want to do tasks in reasonable methods.

    • @twatson703
      @twatson703  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@k_-qx3lf It's not a conflict, it's just different strokes for different folks. Each group is able to do what they like. It is true that when you put out a call for volunteers to do a project, if the project can be done by train you get three times as many volunteers.

    Why can't someone have enough land to make a 2nd train mountain in Missouri

    • @twatson703
      @twatson703  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It takes more than land. It also takes the desire and ambition to put it all together. And don't forget lots of money!

    How much does one of those locomotives cost?

    • @jordanmrivera
      @jordanmrivera 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends on which locomotive it is. They can range from $1750-$20000 for a battery or gas one , and steam anywhere from $6000-$80000. They are a lot more inexpensive if you build one yourself.

    Just curious- what is the exact gauge there? Is it 7-1/2 or 7-5/8?

      @@pinecreeklocomotiveworks4365 The Triennial was postponed for one year. It will be next year (2022). I am on my way out the door for a Doctor's appointment, so if you have more questions I will not be able to respond until later today.

    i just need to ask because I am very interested in this hobby Liberal or conservative?. I have a hard time playing with folks who dont believe in GOD , ,think guns are bad, and like $10 a gallon gas

      The train hobby is like any other cross section of people. You have a wide variety of interests and beliefs. Most people come to Train Mountain because of their interest in trains and try to avoid the subjects of politics and religion.

    A lot of good footage here, but the picture quality makes it hard to watch. The picture is muted or something. It looks like OLD films where they put a dark filter to make day light filming look like night time. Sorry, but that made the whole thing enjoyably to me.

    • @twatson703
      @twatson703  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am curious as to how you are watching the video. This seems to determine whether you see a proper image, or one that is washed out.

    • @Caderic
      @Caderic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@twatson703 Just to check. I have two monitors on the same computer that give me different contrast, brightness and coloring and I moved the video from on to the other. I also watched it on my phone to check. I had the same results with all screens. The picture isn't washed, it is muted. Search "Train Mountain" and compared the thumbnails of the return and you might be able to better see your video thumbnails look darker in comparison to all the others.
      I went back and looked at the "The 3 Truck Heisler at Sawmill HDR" video from May 15, 2019. There the videos weren't muted but they look over saturated. It is almost like they were over saturated the to compensate the contrast was reduced.
      I hope this helps, because I am not trying to be mean, or rude. The video as a whole is really good.

    • @twatson703
      @twatson703  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not taking this issue as being mean or rude, but rather looking for an explanation and solution. This only occurs with a few people on varying equipment. I realize that some of my videos are of better quality than others. We were also plagued with smoke from all the fires all summer long, and this made them look hazy. Only the two most recent videos I uploaded are smoke free. th-cam.com/video/Ob5VKCr7W9I/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/7QaWsEolaa8/w-d-xo.html. Please see how they display and compare.
      Another problem, as I understand it, is that some devices or applications do not interpret the video metadata correctly. Thus, the player attempts to play HDR videos in an SDR color space, or visa versa.
      When you access a TH-cam video, TH-cam attempts to discover whether your viewing equipment is HDR or SDR compatible, and their server serves the proper version. If this process fails, you may get a very washed out or over saturated looking video.
      A TH-cam video played on a computer is affected by many things. I have found that Firefox does not display correctly, and this is heavily discussed in the forums. Chrome does much better, but you must have Hardware Acceleration on in the Settings. In fact all Browsers other than Firefox do much better. There is some interesting info in this article: www.dell.com/support/article/en-ca/sln308136/colors-are-faded-and-washed-out-when-high-dynamic-range-is-enabled-in-windows-10?lang=en.
