Clean and simple. Minimum of tools necessary. Easy to figure out dimensions for myself. I would countersink the hinges and maybe add a nylon pad and handles.
Fully agree the best I have found on TH-cam. Would be great if you have a description with sizes and a kind of drawing. I am just a beginner and don't have much tools. Thanks for sharing. Cheers from the Netherlands. Hope you provide all the viewers with a description and drawing
Props to those who don't use jigs, I know I need one. I'm very good with my hands but getting good symmetry on the belt sander isn't as easy as the pro make it look. This is a great diy jig, I wanted to make a new one and and seeing how well yours came out I'll have to make one similar 👍
I am very much estatic to get started in this trade and make my own blades one day and this is gonna save me so much time n ensure my products are what I want to look like. That being said, i am not well enough to have a big proper drill like this. Can an impact driver achieve the same job at getting through the steel block with the right bit n oil?
Christopher Reedy that is a fancy jig. it is ferrari of jigs. all you need is a L shape and two nuts and bolts on one side to set the angel. this was very nice but i never spend time to make this. L shape and two bolts will do.
Love the design...and easy to put together with minimal specialty tools. Nothing worse than looking at a how to video and its starts off. Lets head to my metal fabrication shop. LOL
What a great job! I would like to be able to replicate it. By any chance would you have a plan with the measurements and distances of the set or could you provide me with them? From already thank you very much. Greetings from Argentina!.
Wish I watched this earlier, would made the build of mine less try and error ...but in the end it looks very similar to urs.....I just added a horizontal screw to adjust the bevel more reproductable.... Ur using cubitron 2 grinding belt? I love this belt, grinds so well and makes such an beautiful grindig Face..
Seeing as how that was aluminum plate you were tapping.....you could have put your tap in the drill and run it on slow speed. I have done it plenty of times.
Excellent piece of work.. great job.. but the instructions are lacking. Measurements, aluminum sizes and distance for holes drilled. A good fab guy can figure it iut but novice knife makers with little fab skills would have trouble
I can do this by hand on my belt grinder, but what about the other side? And what makes it run parallel to the belt at all times? Video please. I need to upgrade mine.
I'm trying to understand your question. Obviously for the other side you just flip the blade around. What do you mean parallel to the belt? The blade edge is perpendicular to the belt, and the edge profile is offset at an angle from parallel.
Great video. Thanks. I like that you made your jig with aluminum while most others made with steel require welding. Drilling, tapping and shaping aluminum is much easier. Question: What are the dimensions of aluminum bar your are using? The best I could get at the home improvement store is 1/8 x 2". Not thick enough and probably not wide enough either.
Check with a local welding/metal fab shop to see if they have any scraps you can use. If not, you might need to buy online from a place such as this: www.midweststeelsupply.com/store/aluminumplate. Amazon also sells aluminum plate, such as this 1/4"x6"x12" plate. www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Tooling-Sheet-Plate-Stock/dp/B07JMHD9T5/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=aluminum+plate&qid=1578942871&sr=8-4
Best Jig design I have ever seen. As well as best tutorial. Detailed and straight to the point
Very nice! Probably the cleanest diy jig I’ve seen. Fact that it can be easily made with simple tools makes it that much better. Outstanding!
Best design and execution I've seen for a knife-making jig. Great work.
Finally a design that doesn’t require welding!! Thank you
Man up! Learn to weld...
Cody Daniel It is really handy to know how to do!
Beautiful job on bevel device.
No music: Thank You.
No talk: Thank You
Great video.
Thank you for sharing your expertise. 👍👍👍
This is definitely on my project list. Right after I finish refurbishing my lathe so I can build myself a 2x72 belt grinder...
Clean and simple. Minimum of tools necessary. Easy to figure out dimensions for myself. I would countersink the hinges and maybe add a nylon pad and handles.

Love this build. Made my own today and it works great. Thanks for posting!!
This is awesome! More sophisticated than the one I’ve been using for sure! Solid
Very good idea, also nice that it is aliminium. Very clean and uncluttered, easy to handle. Very nice work
Nice piece of kit and very well built. Thanks for sharing.
Do you have plans with dimensions? I really like this style of jig.
This is by far one of the best bevel jigs I've ever seen. Definitely going to make it!
You never cease to amaze me with your great ideas! You a big help to beginners.
Pretty badass. I might steal this. I’ll probably build in the clamp, and countersink the hinges also.
Excellent! The only change I would make is to countersink the holes in the hinges to make the screws flush. Thanks for the vid.

Finally a video showing a jig used to make a small blade, Scandinavian grind! Brilliant (and no welding!!!)
Will wood be a suitable replacement? I don't exactly have scraps metal lying around
Nice build!!! Thanks for the video
Great design I would affix a hard nylon pad to the base and countersink the screws
Simple and effective, well done man that’s awesome
This was a good video, but if you could make a set of instructions with sizes and ect... it would be perfect.

@@ravanabrahmarakshas4263 The amount of time and effort you put into projects will be reflected in the quality of your knives.
I think 100x250mm is a good measure for one plate
This is the best I've seen on TH-cam. Thanks man for you masterpiece!!!
That's a real nice job , what type of bandsaw are you using if you don't mind me asking
Love the design...and easy to put together with minimal specialty tools. Nothing worse than looking at a how to video and its starts off. Lets head to my metal fabrication shop. LOL
Thanks!
Very good work!
Can you tell all sizes of this beautiful product?
What a great job! I would like to be able to replicate it. By any chance would you have a plan with the measurements and distances of the set or could you provide me with them? From already thank you very much. Greetings from Argentina!.
You have opened my eyes!
Great video! You did good work!
Do you think I could have your specs so I could create my own?
Very nicely done! I'll buy it! Lol
Nice design of the bevel holder. I LIKE IT. What belt grinder you are using ? I mean is it home made or bought from the store ?
Great video. Thank you for sharing with us. Can you create video or post drawings for this jig. Thank you
Nice work sir 👍

Excellent. Simple but elegant design.
Hola. Que espesor de aluminio utilizas? Y que dimensiones tiene aprox?
Exelente terminaciones. Muy buen trabajo.
You have endless skills.
Very good Idea.
Simple style , easy to make , nice look , perfekt Funktion.
THANKS FOR THAT VIDEO.
Great design! Thanks for sharing!
Looks good, I’m going to give it a try. What kind of sander do you have?

Nice job! Well thought out.
Thanks foto they vídeo.
Great idea....
Grettings from Puebla México!!!!!
Why did you bevel the screw holes for the hinge screws?
Would you kindly tell me more about a thickness and size of aluminium pieces?
Wish I watched this earlier, would made the build of mine less try and error ...but in the end it looks very similar to urs.....I just added a horizontal screw to adjust the bevel more reproductable....
Ur using cubitron 2 grinding belt? I love this belt, grinds so well and makes such an beautiful grindig Face..
Add instructions and specific materials in the narrative. Great video!

Well done, excellent job
It seems like making the jig was just as much fun as making the knife.
very nice, i use a similar jig but yours is much nicer... thanks
Very nice work! Great job!
Wo hastn die Aluplatten gekauft?
Very nice :) when you sink a hole lower your speed for nicer surfaces and less sound
Could you please Provide dimensions on everything? I definitely want to make one of these for my knife making.
What is the right bevel for the knives....?
I know it determines on the size of the blade but for an average size.
Thank you
Un buen trabajo felicitaciones 👍
The very best one I have seen!
How long and wide is that aluminum plate???
Aluminium?
You need a table for that bandsaw
Simpel,easy and supercool.
A little bit Alu,some screws a little bit Time wow.
Grind perfect Knives
Top Work.
Make it out of steel and weld it, last longer and will not take very long to make.
Thank you for sharing valuable vdo.Small job ,But great benefit.
💖💖💖👍👍👍💖💖
Awesome job thanks
You can create a drawing with dimensions. This thing
Do you have one on a file guide too. Please could you do plans for this bevel jig I’m happy to pay for them
Seeing as how that was aluminum plate you were tapping.....you could have put your tap in the drill and run it on slow speed. I have done it plenty of times.
Hola.consulta .que medida tiene de largo .?
would you share your plan ?
Hella dope, AVmake!
How about showing switching sides??
Fantastic Neat work.
Just a suggestion, show how it's used first, not last. Merry Christmas! BobUK
nice job I could have the measures to make it happen?
Can i have the project please?
Great! I made all of this just using a file. Still turned out great.
Where's the best place to buy aluminum to make this?
Awesome nice creation
Excellent piece of work.. great job.. but the instructions are lacking. Measurements, aluminum sizes and distance for holes drilled. A good fab guy can figure it iut but novice knife makers with little fab skills would have trouble

Hi bro 👋👋👋good project and good idea 👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
Oh hello, I see you like knives too :D.
What a coincidence. XD
Do you remember me?
how many mm aluminum?
Ahora sí! El primer fresado de valió de nada.
That sure is a nice jig
Thanks for the demonstration
how thick is aluminum?
iI enjoy your video, i definitly will try to do this artefact.

I made one with 3/8 x 3"
Koje su dimenzije aluminija?
50x200mm
Does a great job beveling but sure is a lot of work making. But a damn good job of fabrication
