Homemade cleaners are a great way to save money. Thanks for sharing this! I've not used Sal Suds, but I have made several cleaners for the house with Castile soap or isopropyl alcohol as bases (I do add essential oils). They all work well without the chemicals, which I love.

I grew up in the 1960’s- my mom used Pine Sol or Spic-n-Span to clean everything!

It is not the cleaners that I need, but rather, the motivation to clean. I love borax for so many things. I went to put on my socks this morning and they look like new ones except they are a stretched out. I also love the magic eraser knockoffs that you can find in the dollar stores. Do try some Odoban as it is great for carpets, upholstery and your car. Send me a box of motivation this Christmas break, if the stores aren't sold out!

Not surprised what you shared about chemicals; cannot breathe in those over powering scents ; Castile soap, vinegar, baking soda are good for almost everything; never thought about plastic containers and reusing them; everyone and his uncle drinks from plastic😳

Plain 'ol vinegar will clean just about anything - glass, countertops, toilets, etc. Mix some with some dish detergent (not too much). Vinegar also disinfects. I use it on my car - I just dump some on and the car shines like crazy. I also found that bar hand soap makes a wonderful cleaner, and is very easy to rinse off. It's not "soapy." It's also good for grease in your dishes. When I have a pan that doesn't want to let go of it's grease I reach for the hand soap I keep on the sink and put some on my sponge. It takes it off really fast. Handsoap also will take the pain and itch out of an insect bite or cat scratch. I found this out by accident in the middle of the night when my cat accidentally clawed me. Just take a bar of soap and wet one end, rub the sore/bite with it directly and let it sit for a minute or two. Rinse it off. Feel the relief.

LOL I have allergies to most scents.Dryer sheets are the killer. Not only do their clothes smell but they smell in them!I just use white vinegar and Dawn. All Free and Clear for the laundry.

I also add some white vinegar to the rinse cycle. Dryer sheets make bath towels less absorbent in my opinion.

I just subscribed to your channel. The wisdom you share is grand! I have used Sal Suds for quite some time now./. I have made several of my cleaning products. I also use DoTerra essential oils. In a separate sprayer. I also have a few glass sprayers work great! Some baking soda or salt make for a great grime cutter with some lemon oil.

I have multiple chemical sensitivity so can understand completely. I cannot tolerate chemicals or scented things. I also use Dr Bronners Castile soap, the bar soap in the shower and liquid in a foam pumper with water for hand soap. I use vinegar and a squirt of dr bronners for window cleaning. I use 7th generation dish soap and laundry soap ( unscented or I can tolerate almond scented ) I use unscented bar shampoo and conditioner. You can also use baking soda for cleaning sinks and showers. Good luck, I have had these sensitivities for 25 years now.

Even if you buy 10 oz of lemon Lysol at Dollar tree it will make 50 oz of cleaner. Don't buy anything else. I learned some frugality from an old friend. She didn't have clothes hanging in the closet. She had plenty of clothes gor her family. Everyone looked fine too. She had 6 pair of shoes. Grocery shop for the month with 285 dollars. Consigned baby clothes and toys. She back to school shopped gor her 2nd grader with 140 dollars. 2 five dollar polos from Target and 2 more shirts. Trendy jeans from Ross. Finish up with Walmart for khakis and shirts and 2 pair of sneakers 1 from each store. Any who I had caught a sale for Lysol 40 oz bottles buy 1 get 2 free. She filled her bottle up with Lacendar Lysol until the bottom of the label and the rest with water right at my house. She had nothing but that one cleaning bottle for all rooms. It lasted her about 2 months. I have always diluted my cleaners since and can appreciate how much everything is. We were neighbors 6 years and cleaned out my surplus of lotions, perfumes, candles, sandals, coats, leggings, and cleaners

LOL. I have cologne sensitivity. Church ( they do incense there ) is a living heck sometimes with perfume bombs everywhere. During covid I had some relief from masks but I couldn't breathe good wearing them. I made a mesh one that I would open the flap when needed.

I use Sal Suds for laundry and Dr. Bronner's almond bar soap in shower. Unfortunately, I have to order or drive 90 miles to nearest store that carries them. Annoying but worth it.

You have to be careful with Walmart/Equate products! I think they have had bad ingredients in the past, and I think I read that they don't always list every ingredient.

Granny be careful with some essential oils especially around Gizmo they can be harmful on animals. I am trying to get away from harsh chemicals as well.

I have been on a chemical purge, too! Aren't you glad RFK, JR is hired by Trump to crack down on stuff like that?
