If not cleaned I would agree, all the vehicles i've had with the plastic had the rocker panels last longer than without plastic. I guess it depends on how the plastic is attached.

The salesman told me if I wanted to order one from JEEP it would be $430.00. I still think it is crazy that you do not get a spare tire with this vehicle.

Plastic on the rockers does nothing to prevent rust. In fact it just makes them rust more.
