On my Note 8 BxActions works instantly, what you need to do in order to improve its speed and enable other options such as going immersive mode in any application is that you need to give it some permissions via ADB on a computer, the application will actually guide you through it, once you open the application touch the "buttons" option and it will tell you how to enable it.
The reason Samsung removed the black color option for the nav bar is to reduce the chances of burn-in. If the rest of the screen degrades naturally, but not the nav bar because the pixels there are turned off, in long term the nav bar area will appear brighter than the rest of the screen, which basically means it got burned-in. So changing the nav bar to black is a bad idea. That's why there's only light colors in the settings, so the nav bar area can degrade with the rest of the screen and prevent it from being burned-in in the display. In apps where the nav bar becomes black be default, I always hide it because of this. So I'd suggest keeping the nav bar white.
This isn't true. The rest of the screen is getting burn in. The black is not. Black colors don''t use any pixels on AMOLED, therefore it's not burning in

Accidentally triggering bixby bothers you, but somehow you have no problem with accidentally triggering Google assistant with that bixby botton several times a day?

For someone who is using Google Assistant a lot and never uses Bixby, accidentally triggering Bixby feels annoying and disruptive every single time - whereas you've probably triggered Google Assistant 20-30 times intentionally for every accidental trigger. While you have the same frequency of accidental triggers, the perceived annoyance changes drastically.

It has the same 'accidental trigger rate' as my volume and power button. It really does make a big difference to me whether I get 5 annoying, interrupting Bixby triggers out of 5 total presses of the button during the day, or 5 somewhat less annoying and interrupting GA triggers during a day where I also use the software intentionally many times over. With Bixby the button has zero constructive functionality for me, it's just in the way. Accidental triggers are exclusively annoying and interrupting. With GA it has a 95+% constructive, positive functionality, and I really appreciate that it's there. Accidental triggers are a compromise I am very willing to live with as it makes up a very small part of my total interaction with it.

Guess what! It's me looking at my actual phone problems and found you! My phone s9+ goes black after it gets hot and is a absolute pain to use longer then 5 minutes because it goes black, and the brightness only works at the top and bottom of the brightness! Also has lots of green lines in it no matter if its light or not. I don't think this is gonna solve my problem cause I think its something else! Thanks for the guild tho!!

I started in safe mode and wiped off most of my 3rd party apps. Didn’t help. It got worse until it would not open even in safe mode. I just found your video on going into the Droid menu. I cleared the partitions and now it seems to work flawlessly. Questions 1. ...is there anything else I should do to prevent this happening again? I have Avast and McAfee both on it. Question 2...Could that be the problem? I had McAfee off until just before the shutting down began.... Thank you for your help. I’m liking and subscribing, too. Regards
The only problem that really bothers me is how zoomed in Snapchat is :(. I have to hold the phone much further away to take a snap compared to taking a snap on my s7. If anyone knows how to fix this, your help is appreciated.

I always hear static in the earpiece of my S9+ whenever I'm on a call. Put good faith into Samsung after they failed me with the S7 Edge and S8. Traded in my Pixel 2 XL for the S9+ and am regretting it wholeheartedly.
You can make the Bixby button only work when you long press it. That'll eliminate accidental presses. And these really aren't problems, just things that you personally don't like

I find that the fingerprint reader placement is worse now. I never smudged the camera glass on the s8+ and now I'm touching it all the time on the s9+.

I'm not sure what the S9 has this on the phone or not but things like select to speak and switch access. When you turn these on you have to agree to a few things and one of them is it observes text you type it states this includes personal data such as credit card numbers and passwords. Has anybody ever use these features because the TalkBack feature seems like it would be pretty cool but I hate the idea of agreeing to something that's going to save all my passwords and credit card numbers. And I guess it would be Samsung that would be getting all my passwords and credit card numbers cuz this is built into the phone I have the S7 by the way. Thanks for any thoughts on this
Samsung really has no reason to sell your info as they are making money off you buying hardware from them. If it's a Samsung app I wouldn't be too concerned, for 3rd party dev's I would be more so.

Maybe it's just me, but Samsung have made me feel like switching to a better looking device (although I do use the S-pen cause of big fingers) from a stable and reliable source of updates and protection (Pixel device) back to thiers! I say backwards because of the given with android platform parity being Samsung the one dragging thier shoes. It's seems as though they are simply banking on people buying the Note series simply for the S-pen! I mean, in comparison to other manufacturers as well as thier own line-up, the Note is left on the same playing field as other devices from 2016 and 2015 save it's S-pen which is unchanged from the fabled Note 7.
The info in the video is good, but please learn how to set your phone down. The herky-jerky movement makes it really hard to see what you are pressing or doing.

If I get a Samsung flagship, which I did and would still do in the future, it is mostly because of its software design and features. For example, look at the Android 9, a lot of UI changes in there were already in Samsung's UI, and while we have a very decent phone running stock Android(Pixel), I think running a launcher over Samsung's launcher is a bad idea, it's kinda wasting the money, but as I said, that's just my opinion.
If you change your nav bar black won't you have a better chance of getting screen burn? You should do a video about screen burn every since I learned about it I been careful about my screen brightness and all that
5 minute limitation of 4k 60 FPS shooting due to overheating is the reason why I won’t even consider Samsung as an alternative to iPhone 8 Plus for instance. That just sucks in my opinion.
My S9+ Had Google assistant as soon as I restore the apps from my old phone. BUT.. whereas I trained my GOOGLE assistant once (on my S6+), it seems Samsung is Effing around with it and I must retrain Google every two weeks. BIxby is STILL popping up asking if I want to enable it which is annoying as hell, Samsung MUST give this up .. Siri, Alexa & Google is PLENTY assistants. However, the new blood pressure in S9+ is amazing . My doc was "WTF....BUT HOW?" So samsung; stick to what you know , and do NOT piss off the client.
Sometimes my screen will be pixled green,red and yellow when I watch a video it goes away within a second. This is my third s9 plus. The phone has issues and you can't get passed it. Period.

I used BK package disabler on my S7 but I don't find that I need to use it on my S9. It was a pain in the ass having to enable everything every time you did an update and then disable again.
I'm absolutely baffled by my notifications at the top of my S9. The problem started about 3 days ago. They won't go away. I've hit clear, gone into the individual apps, turned the phone off and nothing seems to be working. When I get new notifications they are ghosting over the ones I can't make go away. Any help, suggestions would be so appreciated. I'm at my witts end. Thank you

Bxaction is well worth the 2 dollars. One press open camera, hold press google assistant, double press take a screenshot, double press and hold open spotify. All in one button dude! With those options why would you want to keep using bixby. I like the idea of bixby and it was fun to play around with, but i just found i would use it just as much as people use siri, which isn't much at all. Remapping buttons makes it just quicker than asking bixby to do it. If in the future I find bixby can do some mind bending things then i'll consider using it, but for now bxaction is incredible.
I have issues with typing and trying to tap (click) on things on the screen... And it's not an issue with my phone as I have this issue with any phone that has a curved screen...
How about HDR content playing in the Netflix app, does this work fine on your Galaxy S9? Its very dark on my phone. I dont have that problem with TH-cam HDR or local video files with HDR support.

Mamba_Skillz after the 4th replacement phone Samsung didn't know what the problem was. I thought it maybe the SD card so I took it out and no crackling noise since by God's grace. So may have been a bug or something
I just used the eject pin to expose the tray (SIM and SD). I don't have an SD card in yet, so I hope this fixes the problem. If this continues I'll maybe have to insert the SD card instead. I think the problem originites when transfering data from an older phone through Smart Switch. Data that is backed up by the SD card. Anyways, great to hear it worked for you and thanks for clearing this up, hopefully it works for me aswell.
BaldurCoons I did... I got my second phone and it had the same issue. It was so annoying so I decided to turn off ringtone, notification, and system sounds... it worked. I did this for 2 weeks and then I turned them back on. It was fixed; I havent had the issue since the day I turned them off. That's what it think it is or it was also the notification sound of an App that I had "Fishbrain" which had a "reel-in" notification sound. Hope this helps

Yeah I'm aware. That's a bit much for most beginners so I'll probably put the command line stuff in my advanced tips video.

Never had any problems with burn on my Samsung phones and I've always used a black nav bar. If you upgrade your phone often it doesn't matter.

My S9+ Had Google assistant as soon as I restore the apps from my old phone. BUT.. whereas I trained my GOOGLE assistant once (on my S6+), it seems Samsung is Effing around with it and I must retrain Google every two weeks. BIxby is STILL popping up asking if I want to enable it which is annoying as hell, Samsung MUST give this up .. Siri, Alexa & Google is PLENTY assistants. However, the new blood pressure in S9+ is amazing . My doc was "WTF....BUT HOW?"
So samsung; stick to what you know , and do NOT piss off the client.
Sometimes my screen will be pixled green,red and yellow when I watch a video it goes away within a second. This is my third s9 plus. The phone has issues and you can't get passed it. Period.

I used BK package disabler on my S7 but I don't find that I need to use it on my S9. It was a pain in the ass having to enable everything every time you did an update and then disable again.

I'm absolutely baffled by my notifications at the top of my S9. The problem started about 3 days ago. They won't go away. I've hit clear, gone into the individual apps, turned the phone off and nothing seems to be working. When I get new notifications they are ghosting over the ones I can't make go away. Any help, suggestions would be so appreciated. I'm at my witts end. Thank you

have you experienced a bug with youtube app on your s9? when i pause a video in full screen and then switch app..wait for some minutes and boom.. the phone freezes when you reoopen youtube for like 30 seconds
Another great video! Will BK Disabler help with the stuttering animations on some apps? When I scroll through my Facebook feeds, I almost feel like I'm getting motion sickness. Bxaction is well worth the 2 dollars. One press open camera, hold press google assistant, double press take a screenshot, double press and hold open spotify. All in one button dude! With those options why would you want to keep using bixby. I like the idea of bixby and it was fun to play around with, but i just found i would use it just as much as people use siri, which isn't much at all. Remapping buttons makes it just quicker than asking bixby to do it. If in the future I find bixby can do some mind bending things then i'll consider using it, but for now bxaction is incredible.

I just downloaded BK Package Disabler. I had to pay $2.49 for it but it is on the Play Store .
How about HDR content playing in the Netflix app, does this work fine on your Galaxy S9? Its very dark on my phone. I dont have that problem with TH-cam HDR or local video files with HDR support.
Or you can just make the Bixby button unresponsive unless you long press it. It's in the Bixby menu.
Jeff this has nothing to do with the s9 but we spoke before about the xiaomi mix 2 and the new update from xioami has ruined Google maps and Google voice for me. What should I do? Where can I reinstall the Google boot uploader

On Instagram and a few other apps I cant see the very edges of the screen like when there is words close to the edge they just cut off on the side. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Having issues with the speaker making a crackling noise on the s9. Sent in and second replacement phone has the same issues . Anyone else having the same issue and know how to solve it? Sooo frustrating

Mamba_Skillz after the 4th replacement phone Samsung didn't know what the problem was. I thought it maybe the SD card so I took it out and no crackling noise since by God's grace. So may have been a bug or something
I just used the eject pin to expose the tray (SIM and SD). I don't have an SD card in yet, so I hope this fixes the problem. If this continues I'll maybe have to insert the SD card instead. I think the problem originites when transfering data from an older phone through Smart Switch. Data that is backed up by the SD card. Anyways, great to hear it worked for you and thanks for clearing this up, hopefully it works for me aswell.

BaldurCoons I did... I got my second phone and it had the same issue. It was so annoying so I decided to turn off ringtone, notification, and system sounds... it worked. I did this for 2 weeks and then I turned them back on. It was fixed; I havent had the issue since the day I turned them off. That's what it think it is or it was also the notification sound of an App that I had "Fishbrain" which had a "reel-in" notification sound. Hope this helps
