Great interview Bob. So amazed by their perseverance! I was in the store and said hello to you as the Makers were walking in. You told me they were at sea for 39 hours and look it up. Which I did. Of course the news never gets it right so this interview was very enlightening. I would like to hear more about the decisions made on the boat that led to abandoning two souls at sea. In rough conditions. As divers, in my view, we aren't just passengers on these vessels. We're part of the team that keeps us all safe. We look for cylinders not secured, diver's valves not open, hose snags, etc. So while the Captain is the ultimate authority, we all have a responsibility to make sure well considered decisions are made. Maybe that happened and it was about the safety of all on board to leave the scene. Certainly a tough decision to make. Glad the Makers are safe and still diving!

An excellent interview. It was a pleasure to see divers who did everything right. There is one safety item that I have been using for years that was not mentioned. It is a small strobe that I keep attached to my inflator hose. It is unobtrusive and very robust and reliable. There are several brands making similar devices. BTW, I loved the Maker's attitude. Much luck.

I wonder if they had a snorkel with them. This can safe your life in rough seas and when you are out of air.

Nautical Divers here in Jax issues one to each diver on their boat at the begining of the trip and collects them at the end. @DiversSupplyYT
