    I have a few pieces that I have completed, but have not yet framed. This gave me so many great solutions. I love the look of the embroidery hoop painted, it made such a difference. I have had one piece that I felted too close to the edges and mounting it on a painted canvass seems like the perfect solution. Marie so much knowledge about ever aspect of this art, and I am so thankful she is willing to take the time to share her knowledge with so many great examples.

    Thanks so much for these tips. I wouldn't have realized how much the thicker canvas would add to the value of the piece. I'm working on a piece that will be in a gallery so this is very important to me. Thanks again!

    This Wooly Wednesday inspires me to make more 2D needle felted art! Such great tips for mounting that I hadn't even thought of.

    I haven't started creating my pieces because I needed to understand mounting. You covered so many different options in this one video, thanks. I now know my options and can get to work on a few projects I have been planning for a while now.

    Hi to you all, from Jan Lohrman in the cherry capital of Young NSW, Australia. I have been needle and wet felting for about 6 months now and I love love making your dolls and I have been making life size cats but having trouble with the correct head size. They tend to be too small.
    Cheers from Jan in Australia. 😎

    Sending you a sincere thank you for this info! I've been contemplating how to hang my works and the canvas idea is just what I needed. I knit and felt and embellish bags, and I'm expanding into tapestries this year. Oh, I love the piece with the little houses.

    I started felting last fall, inspired by animal eyes! I decided to try to felt directly in a canvas and it worked! I live in VA!

    Great video. How to attach to rustic branch?

    • @LivingFelt
      @LivingFelt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much, Mary. If you want to hang a piece from wood or branch, you can sew/stitch along top to distribute weight and minimize tug. You can also create hanging loops within the piece, or add them after.

    I hand embroider my textile art and it needs to be stitched through two layers of fabric. I'm finding that the corners are too thick when stretching the piece over canvas. Any ideas? I know you mainly talk about felt but I'm really struggling with it. Thanks.

    • @LivingFelt
      @LivingFelt  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      HI Alison, We have experienced the same on thick felts, and completely understand. It sounds like you want it outside of glass...
      Have you considered sewing on a border and mounting it flat ... such as on a painted canvas, fabric covered canvas or other base of your choice.? You can back it with a very stiff interfacing to keep it smooth and uniform.

    • @alisonbunce159
      @alisonbunce159 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LivingFelt yes I think a canvas would be lovely but the dense stitching has to be stretched and laced at the back and interfacing would probably not be enough to keep it under tension and if I lace it at the back of the canvas I wouldn't have anywhere to attach hanging fittings ☹ oh well, I'll keep wrecking my brains 😊 Thank you for your ideas though and thank you for a great video! Very friendly and talented!!

    Hi, Im Betsy from Cincinnati Ohio. I have a question I am hoping you will answer. How do yousign dry needle felted art work?

    • @LivingFelt
      @LivingFelt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people needle felt initials, one friend signs with machine stitching, others put a label on the back.
