There are so many photography channel in youtube. Most of them are busy with gear and Photoshop. I appreciate this fact cause modern world need speed. But what you are doing in this channel is unique and marvelous. No one talks about the art, inside a photograph, you do. Everyone is busy with 4k capability of a camera but you are busy with film. This serious is incredible. Your channel is the most unique and the best. Keep going with this type of video.

This series is a good way of getting into the photographer's mind. I find out how much I don't know about photography. Not just because I use a DSLR camera but because I am not proficient with the process it takes to put the image on paper. Even in the film days I shot color slides because I did not have a darkroom. After seeing this and going to a Gallery or even an Art Show and viewing photographs, then looking at the price tag on a framed print, one should never question the cost of the photograph. You may not care for the picture but the process to get it from a camera raw file to an acceptable print is time consuming. This Artist Series is the best photography series on TH-cam. Thanks for the hard work Ted!

I love landscape photography, so I've watched this little movie 3 times already. Observation: In the age of digital "extreme highlights" (in the words of one of the printing experts above) is a big no no. Spikes on your histogram is to be avoided. But this artist employs it almost in every image, but very selectively. Fabulous little masterclass you put together here! Thank you to all involved.

This video is so wonderful. The feel, the images is one needing more time to study. I often study a photo, straight on, the upside down, esp., If exposed on Large Format. The cost factors of LF are formidable. I could never do this! Great video. Bravo.

I worked in a professional photo lab back in the late 1970s and early 1980s and this video really 'spoke' to me. Thanks for including David Brookover's collaborators in this video Ted, his 'printers' are clearly an important part of his art and it is great to see him acknowledge their contribution. Love his work and I am particularly grateful for the effort you have put into the 'artist series'. More please!

So cool that the printers appear as well in the video. It is so interesting to hear them talk about the prints - actually they are they hidden artists behind the big names. Would be so cool to learn more... Maybe a video (or two..) about a 'good' print vs a 'bad' one with the experts talking and explaining. So much to learn from just a few comments.
So curious to see the next videos! - Thanks Ted! Terrific job!

Amazing work and a nice guy, I often stop into the gallery for a visit, but more so for inspiration. As a photographer, I know many, as the video shows, David's innovation has evolved his "theme" and technicality that we pedestrian shooters will never attain. David still has his spot meter, most of us don't remember where we put ours after we bought our DSLRs.
The inclusion of the printers makes me want to send them my B&W portfolio, to see if anything worthy lives there :)
Theme David? I have to laugh when I look at my portfolio as I was recently doing after my last trip, it is a testament to my Attention Deficit Disorder LOL.
Thanks for making this video Ted.

You have tapped into the technique of drawing the viewer in...an increasingly rare feat.Thankyou for these films, they are truly inspirational in terms of getting an artist who may have come to a "Why am I doing this ?" point, and may need a little something to reignite the passion for their art.you show there is rewards, but it's more about the process and the journey.
