Unbelievable. He has limitless talent as a singer of many dimensions. But he puts soul into each song.
This song reminds me of my first visit to L.A... I was contracted with a company to swap out offair antennas with 18" satellite dishes. I was making 50 bucks a pop and installing 8 to 12 units per day ,6 to 7 days a week ,averaging $3000 a week. My gas and room were paid for ,I was 23 years old and rolling in cash... We were contracted to work for 6 months and then go to San Diego... After 4 months with only a few days off,I decided to start taking every Sunday off. I was constantly singing 'turn the page' in my head. My routine was to wake at 5:30 am , grab some coffee ,a banana and a muffin from the continental breakfast and hit the road . A lot of the jobs were at restaurants and fast food places ,a quick talk with the manager , 15 minutes on the roof , a 10 minute swap inside,and off to the next one. The sweat definitely poured from my body,and I spent a lot of time on the road. I usually got back to the motel. Around 11:30 to midnight, drank a Mickeys malt liquor to numb my aching body ,set my alarm, and crashed. Everything changed that day at the beach. I had always been a bit chubby and shy . Four months of climbing ladders with 50lbs of tools and gear knocked off 20 lbs of fat , I probably put on the same in muscle... I decided to go for a walk on the beach, early one morning. There she was, the girl of my dreams . Blonde hair , blue eyes ,and a petite yet shapely body. She was playing with a yellow lab ,smiling and laughing. I was truly smitten. I lapproached her with ease and started a conversation... When I looked into her , yes ,I'm going to say it ,soft eyes ,so innocent and blue ,I lost all control. We walked along the beach and ended up talking and cuddling all night . We woke up on the beach freezing. We went back to her place for a hot shower and some warm clothes for her.She then took me on a tour of LA ... .Including driving through the hills. My boss paged me , I was an independent contractor, so I took the day off. I had been doing twice the installs of the rest of the crew. I started doing as few as 10 a week. If Ashley wasn't at work,neither was I. This went on for 2 months, and it was time to go to San Diego... I asked her to come with me. She said that she would sleep on it . That night was like no other. I was so in love with her. I woke up and she was gone. I went to the restaurant where she worked ,she had quit. I went to her Apartment to find it being cleaned out by the landlord. She would not answer her pager ... She was gone I walked the beach and drove by the places we had been,just hoping to see her one more time. I had no luck... I filed a missing person report, when I checked a few days later,they told me she wasn't missing and that she was safe . I decided not to go to San Diego. I really needed to be around friends and family, so I headed home. I gassed up my truck and stopped at "our" burger joint for one last memory before hitting the road. There she was, making out with a guy in makeup and goth clothing. She glanced at me,shrugged her shoulders, and carried on.Not exactly the memory I was hoping for.. For a long time I looked back with anger and devastation... Eventually I was able to appreciate all of the good memories. Not the exact scenario of the song ,but it's really close . When i hear this song , I re-live all the good times with Asheley ... unfortunately, I also re-live the pain...
I can appreciate the feeling of anger and devestation I had a similiar situation and yes I came to the same conclusion. Our memories are a roadmap of our lives... The good part is.. it is really funny to hear someone mention that they ended the day with a Mickey's Big Mouth. I used to do the same thing 30 years ago and now I can't even find them anymore. I've never heard Michael do anything I didn't like. I'm a huge Seger fan and I really like the way he does this song justice.
This guy has got one of the best voices EVER!! No joke !! We want more.. where is he!!!??? Want to see him live and I hope he gets more recognized
Michael decided that he wanted a simple life, sing in small clubs where he could interact freely with the audience, and he avoided big concerts. He shuns the riches that could go with being a popular star.

Pure Excellence from Michael Grimm to honor Seger, a true American legend!
I remember seeing him on America's Got Talent and how brilliant he was then. He is still amazing and such a gorgeous man. I wish we could see more of him. He deserves much more recognition.
