    Another great video. You are so natural and such a pretty young lady. I love your chatalaine. I'm 71 and been stitching 34 years but have never attempted one but I'll live vicariously through all of y'all. Look forward to your next video.

      Thank you Betty, have you ever thought about starting one of Martina's smaller designs? She has plenty of minis including mandalas that would stitch up a bit quicker than a full sized one. Just a thought if you wanted to attempt one! Happy stitching

      Things have definitely come a long way from when I started, I'm so glad we are spoiled, I think the amount of choice that is available has reignited a stitching passion in many people. However, it still needs to stop being classified as an old lady hobby, at least with the people I know...lol

    Love, love your beautiful projects; you must have started stitching when you were very young. Love the Chatelaines; I am currently working on the Tinctorium on black fabric. I haven't gotten very far yet but I love it. I hope to order Rosarium soon, also love Herbularius. I enjoyed your post, so please keep it up. Happy stitching.

      Thank you! I was about 12 when I started stitching, but I had several years when I wasn't stitching very actively. I'm so glad their are more options now for stitchers and the amount of support now with social media blows me away, 10 years ago I would have thought this was a dying art! I'm so glad to find out I was wrong. I love Tinctorium! And how brave of you to stitch it on black, it must look amazing! Thanks again for watching :-)

    Your finishes are utterly stunning! Wow! I have recently bought the patterns for both the fire and the earth dragons from cross my heart inc. do you recall which colours in particular required multiple skeins? Thanks for the heads up! Much stitchy love xxx

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Clare, glad to hear you found those charts from Cross my Heart... I believe the Earth dragon multiple skein was 938 ( it wasn't 3371 which is stitched right beside it) and fire dragon was 918,919,or 920 sorry it's been so long since I've stitched them and have gotten rid of my patterns, but I do remember it was one of of the dark red colors...sorry I can't be of more help

    Your finishes are beyond amazing. The Nimue is so cute and detailed. The white willow ones are gorgeous! And your dragons-wow! I had not seen those charts before and now I might need to track them down. Do you have any tips for stitching on black?

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, I've actually never had a problem stitching on black. I've heard people say something white or a light underneath the fabric can help, I tried it and I think it did something weird to my depth perception and I found it more difficult and it was almost too bright. I instead just found good lighting from the top side and that worked out well for me. However, I did stitch these several, by that I mean at least 10+ years ago, so maybe now something has changed with my eyesight and I will find it more difficult to finish up the last two

    • @miskacat1

      Oh my gosh, I wish! I actually started in about 1992, I started with doing a few Precious Moments charts as that was available at the time and I also did some easier baby animal pieces as well. I am always amazed at how much this craft has changed over the years. Thank you for watching :-)

    I wanted you to know that i have all the country cross stitch and needlework and will be able to look up the sweet reindeer and santa for you if you would like.

      Jen, I have located the Folk Santa and Folk Reindeer. It is in the Cross Stitch and Country Crafts the May/June 88 issue. Vol.111 No. 5.

    hi, I have just discovered you, just watched your first video and now finished your second video, I hope to do a video soon. love all of your finishes, and wips. I completely understand with those arrows, I am doing my first HAED, and I have the arrows in all 4 directions all in the same area, I have been using post it notes and sticking it to my needle minder so I know which one I am doing. amazing work, look forward to future Vids. happy stitching, from Victoria Australia. :)

      Thanks for watching, Which HAED are you doing? I have several more on the go and similar symbols in one area seem to be a theme.... It's a Halloween was in a little kit by a store in SLC Utah it's a kit they made its cute.it has 4 little pictures sort of in a square then you mount it on a piece of wood it has some ribbon to go around it and is mounted on a couple pieces of paper sort of like matts? Kind of and then it is put on the wood with those little nails so it's cute small and easy but......... With easy stuff I keep messing up but it's fun. The kit is called October sorry for the long description.

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OMG! It sounds so cute and very different from anything if seen before with the way you mount/display it. I'm exactly the same way though, the easier I think a project will be the more frogging I end up doing.....it's like my brain turns off and I can't count larger blocks of color, lol Thanks for sharing your project :-)

    Would you please guide me in the right direction?? I so want to do a heaven and earth design but got discouraged because I wanted to stitch them on 28 count evenweave. I think I chose too large of charts... 23 pages. I heard you say storybook is that a size? Thank you for your inspiration. I ended up selling 3 of them lol.

    • @miskacat1
      @miskacat1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tammy, I'm sorry to hear your discouraged with your HAED's, I started stitching mine as recommended, 2 over 2 on 25 count, it is very tight but I've invested to much time in them to restart, my favourite combination now for full coverage is 1 over 1 on 32 count. But I have stitched them on 28 count as well. So you can stitch them on whatever you are most comfortable, the trick is to find the thread coverage that your happy with and make sure you calculate your fabric size properly. I'm not sure if this helps or answers your question, but let me know if you need more information

  • @michelleaukett4366

    Hi there, love all your cross stitch and thanks for the websites, I have save some of them for future reference. I absolutely love the Zodiacs and hopefully will be able to buy the Virgo one for myself when Greece decides to lift the Capital Control ban which prohibits me from using my credit card. So frustrating....anyway and I adore the Dragons and have been looking for a dragon to stitch. Can you perhaps give me the website for your dragons ? Look forward to your next video !

      Thank you so much, it's a shame your unable to use your card to make online purchases, I can't imagine how annoying that would be :-( Unfortunately Cross My Heart Inc closed down several years ago and I'm pretty sure their charts are no longer in print, my best advice would be to keep checking ebay and maybe they will turn up there. The charts are Earth Dragon, Fire Dragon, Air Dragon and Water Dragon all designed by Sherrie Stepp-Aweau, Good luck and I really hope that your able to find them :-)
